Hoggy Rebirthed - Start of the Year Feast

Glesni Carrow

Doll Face
Cabin in Hogwarts Express

Once she made sure her niece's luggage and her pet were properly stored, Ravena sighed with a grin. "There we go. All set now, yes?" She nodded as if she was doing her best not to be awkward.

"I could have handled it myself, you know?" Glesni rolled her eyes as she scoffed lightly at her aunt's excitement. She was all excited and nervous both for her and her niece. "Yes! Yes of course. I just... wanted to participate, that is all," she shrugged it off with a chuckle.

"Thank you."

For a brief moment, Ravena was left speechless in front of her niece's straight face. Letting out a breath she was unaware she was holding in, Ravena reached out to Glesni, her hand hovering briefly above her raven hair, before she settled it on Glesni's head and ruffled her locks. "I am helluva proud of you, but you better stay out of trouble."

Being treated with somewhat scolding glare, Ravena laughed out and laid her hand on Glesni's shoulder, leading her towards the closest entrance to the Hogwarts Express.

"I am not aware that I have created any issues since I have arrived. Never too late to start, if you insist." Glesni jested dryly as the walked alongside of the train.

"You know, that is not what I've meant," Ravena responded to it enigmatically, leaning in. "Magic isn't the most troublesome thing for a young witch like yourself. Don't I know it."

"I am not following," came from Glesni, followed by a slightly perplexed glare at which Ravena groaned lightly and grinned mischievously. "Well, I do not recall you complaining about your studies nor magic all that much, but you certainly complained alright."

With it, Gesni stopped briefly, narrowing her eyes at Ravena as she connected the dots, getting a picture of what Ravena was referring to, or rather who.

"O'Neill? You could've just said so."

"Ah yes. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named!" Ravena exclaimed dramatically, attracting attention of few bystanders as they passed them, but still it managed to make Glesni chuckle in amusement to her aunt's antics. "It is nothing like that. I cannot stand idiots and he is the definition of one. I tolerate him. That is enough."

With smug smirk, Ravena nodded catching up with her. "Never say never, I always say."

"Ew... Stop," came out of Glesni after a brief pause, making Ravena chuckle once more, but it came to halt once Glesni suddenly stopped in her track, eyes front, her gaze cold just like the one she received. Her father seemed like everything but amused at that point, as he studied Ravena in his daughter's presence. It seemed like an eternity of stare-off, until Ravena finally refered to Glesni as they both still had their eyes on Branok's confident posture and neutral face. With it, one was never able to know what was boiling under the surface, but his already turbulent relationship with his sister-in-law already painted quite the accurate picture.

"Do you need me to-"

"No," Glesni interrupted her with defiance in her voice. "You will stay. He needs to leave." And just like that, even though far away to hear it, Branok certainly understood the message he received, responding with a taunting smirk addressed to his sister-in-law, before he slowly turned away and disappeared in the crowd just when the train sounded again, breaking off their focus on the man.

"I need to go," Glesni mumbled and stepped forward, turning once more towards her aunt, meeting her worried face with a smirk. "I got this."

After a quick promise to be available for a quick conversation that evening once she was all set, Ravena was finally somewhat convinced to let the girl go her way. Lost in her thoughts and with all of the noise around her, Glesni only managed to register a familiar voice calling out for her, once she passed it. Perking up to it, she turned towards the train, looking for a face to connect the voice with, and the face she had found. Faster than expected.

Then again, one could hardly miss the male hanging half way through the wagon's window, waving at her enthusiastically. Well, the amount that did mean an enthusiastic amount for August Yilmaz. Regardless, seeing his face, placed an honest lopsided smirk on Glesni's and she nodded with just the right amount of enthusiasm herself. "Sit down, you will hurt yourself!" She jested loudly over all other sounds. "I'll be right there."

A breath of fresh air, August Yilmaz was a welcoming sight for the raven-haired Slytherin. Among a bunch of shallow teenage social connections, a nice thing it was to have someone you could talk to and use more than ten most commonly used words in English language. Even with a restricted number of people willing to strike any conversation with her, Glesni Carrow still insisted on being picky and behold, behold! It paid off quite well.

Without much contact with other students in the wagon, minding their own business, except for the occasional necessary push to pass that she never shied away from, Glesni made her way towards August's cabin, halting at the entrance. The guy already had quite the company that now all stared at her curiously. It however did almost nothing to sway Glesni out of her intention to join August.

"August," she greeted with a polite nod, before turning her head at the opposite side and repeating the same courtesy. "Romeo," she greeted briefly, studying the room left in the cabin, as well as the face of the other two girls making themselves rather comfortable. Returning their dumb dull, somewhat impatient gazes with an exaggerated, equally impatient, heavily cynical smile. Tapping her fingers against the entrance to the cabin a couple of times, she cleared her throat and spoke up in a polite, chirpy tone; the kind of one that kind of girls would certainly understand.

"Excuse me girls, but I just ran into the small assembly of perfects down the wagon as I was passing," she started pointing down the passage. "I've heard they are looking for some of you. I am not sure who exactly but better safe than sorry. It sounded pretty important, I'd check it out before we leave so they do not bug you later on," she grinned with a wink, refering to the two males in the cabin. "If you know what I mean." On it, both of the girls giggled and obeyed, passing her by and moving down the passage.

As soon as their backs were turned, Glesni's face turned to its usual neutral expression and she made her way into the cabin, putting down her backpack and seating herself next to August giving both males a calm glare darting from one to the other. "Well, you know," she finally spoke, looking for her wand. "You're both bloody welcome."

Almost as soon as her wand was out, the duo made their way back, rather unhappy about the little prank she played on them. Just before they were able to make their way back in, Glesni swiftly swished her wand, closing the cabin door in front of their noses and giving them a light wave until they've decided to spare themselves further humiliation.

"I see not much has changed," Glesni spoke as she placed the wand back to it's holder. "Good to see you again."

Adelaide Rosier

Hogwarts, Faculty Room. Mood: Exhausted, but Relieved. Interactions: Caia Watkins, Virgil Hildegard @Ritual Lobotomy, Eleanore Hildegard @VocaStar, Wilbur Langley @Sailor Arti, Skylar Anderson @DayDreamer,
The short moment of intimacy had caught the attention of the rest of the faculty room it seemed, only to be broken by headmaster Pyre who laughed heartily at what professor Hildegard had to say about her arrival here. A miracle, Hildegard called it, though the female wasn’t sure if it was truly a miracle or that she was on the run.

In another corner a teacher awoke, an elaborate moustache drawn on her face that was undoubtedly the penmanship of Caia, who had conveniently found herself snug against Adelaide. However, before the newcomer could say anymore about that yet another teacher joined the cosy little circle.

Hair done up in two long pink ponytails --giving her an even more youthful appearance-- accompanied with her small posture, and skin similarly pale as that of the Ravenclaw head. Adelaide had identified her as a vampire even before her fangs poked out with a chilly jest. Taking in a breath Adelaide straightened up. She knew how to recognise a silent warning, a cautionary tale that Adelaide wasn’t trusted or accepted as a whole. Not yet.

Eleanore was her name, Adelaide learned soon enough as Caia swiftly picked up the job to introduce everyone. New names along with old names came across, as the female’s mind halted at how casually Caia called their former-teacher by his first name, her breath stilling for a moment as she wondered if she was expected to do the same. The thought crossed her as strange, but now that she was not a student anymore it would be stranger even to resist.

“My arrival here isn’t much of a miracle other than headmaster Pyre latching onto an opportune moment,” the female finally spoke, a soft smile graced her features as she turned her eyes over everyone. “I’m glad to become a part of this team,” she continued, her eyes skipping over professor Hildegard --not quite ready to start with his first name yet-- over to Wilbur. It had been even longer since Adelaide had last seen him, with all the surprising consequences to follow. “It almost feels like a reunion,” she jested.

“An opportune moment indeed!” headmaster Pyre smiled widely as he entered the circle, in his hand yet another mug ready. “If you hadn’t spent your birthday in St. Mungos I would have given up trying to convince you,” the man continued, causing Adelaide to flinch a little as she remembered the last incident from which she had only recently recovered. The headmaster meant no harm in his mention, but she had preferred it if he hadn’t shared it so out in the open.

“In any case…” the man continued, a twinkle in his eyes as he came closer. “As part of your initiation as a professor of Hogwarts I hereby grant you your very own mug,” the man spoke, pushing the mug that was still covered in parchment into Adelaide’s hands. “Please do let me know how you like it,” he continued, a chuckle in his voice hinting at a suppressed giggle.

Giving him a suspicious look Adelaide carefully peeled the paper away without ripping it as she scoffed a little at the revelation of the design. “How familiar,” she chuckled before lifting the mug up towards her lips. A huge moustache was drawn on the upper half of the mug, with underneath it the inscription that read: I DADA.

“I do believe I saw something similar drawn on the face of professor Anderson,” the female followed, eyes pulling into a grin along with her covered lips. Lowering the mug again she gave the headmaster a little curtsy, the mug carefully held between the folds of her hands. “Thank you,” she breathed out before examining the mug once more. Though she didn’t understand the reason for the moustache she did find it very fitting in overall. After all, if she didn’t love her own class, what was she here for accepting the job?

Felix Butler

Leon Croi
Location: Hogwarts castle - Path to the Great Lake

"Mister Butler, where d-"

"No time, gotta run!" Felix exclaimed as he hurried down the staircase, barely waiting for the stairs to align, skipping over the empty spaces in between with a brown sherpa blanket flowing after him as he descended quickly pass the caretaker that was left grumbling something that Felix no longer paid attention to. Making his way through the main entrance and turning towards the lake. Slightly later than usual, Felix believed he was still on time for meet and greet. A year before that one, he almost had it. Almost!

This time, he had planned it out so meticulously that one could argue such effort would be more than beneficial if he was just to apply to, well... pretty much everything else. But Felix would easily argue that putting in so much effort all the time for everything and anyone would easily take the special feeling out of devoting yourself to something or someone that truly matters. So meticulously planned that not even Doc's crazy antics stopped him from descending the path to the Great lake just on time.

Somewhere midway, the overgrown Gryffindor noticed a head full of crazy hair shivering up the path towards the castle, and his face stretched into a wide grin as he grabbed with his long legs towards the soaked male.

"Mister Nikolaidis, Merlin's beard!" Felix sounded off once he was close enough, except his voice was not his, but the one constant in Hospital Wing could easily recognize the voice of Matron instead. "How many times do I have to tell you, flu and worse pneumonia are a real hazard!" Before Arionas would have a chance to protest, Felix's legs brought him right in front of the guy at the same time as he threw the warm sherpa cover over Arionas' head, rubbing it profoundly over the fleece. "Gotta make sure you are all nice and dry, mister Nikolaidis," Felix proceeded with a chuckle, with a flick of his wand now ordering the cover to wrap itself snugly around Arionas with a wide grin. "Good stuff," he sounded again and paused briefly realizing the voice of Matron was still prevalent.

He lifted his index finger in the air as he audibly cleared his throat before speaking up again. "Good stuff. I was hoping you will get to try it out. It should do until we get you inside," he nodded confidently, putting away his wand once more and clapping his hands. "Alrighty! Hang in there tight, Michael Phelps," he jested before simply going in and sweeping Arionas off of his feet, lifting him over his shoulder like a larger bag. "Woah, woah...." he exclaimed briefly as he rocked himself out of balance briefly, before getting it back with a laugh. Even though he was a lanky fellow, being the team's beater, required him to have a trained torso and arms and hey, carrying a live cargo around certainly counted as a good workout. "Well that was a close one... Okay let's go!" Felix grinned widely, carrying Arionas upwards towards the castle, despite any potential protest he'd receive from his colleague.

"So how's the weather down there? Water satisfyingly wet I imagine?"

The mere mention of the Carrow heiress was enough to send a shiver down the spines of both the girls that had joined them, both females and Romeo who shot August an anxious glance.

“Yeah August, maybe you should sit down,” his friend mumbled to which August threw the other a look, honestly baffled at the concerns of his friends. First Glesni and then Romeo. Had August unconsciously established himself a reputation as an undeniable clutz that got into trouble constantly? He had thought that such a reputation was reserved for Cal, but alas it seemed that he suffered just as much as they worried themselves over him leaning out of a window in still train.

The thoughts disappeared soon enough, however. Quick as always Glesni had found her way into the cabin already, quickly deciding that the girls had to go as she threw out an obvious lie. A lie and a good excuse for the rest to scurry off, which they did. A relief for August who finally let himself fall into the comfortable seats of the train cabin.

“No idea where they pop up from, but it is appreciated all the same,” August grinned, trying to suppress a laugh as the door was shut in the faces of the girls. How they hadn’t seen through the Glesni earlier was beyond him, but he supposed the prefects this year must have been particularly dreamy for them to scurry off so fast.

“I hope you’re well-rested,” the male started, ignoring the gawking Romeo did right beaten into total disbelief that the mysterious transfer was actually friendly. “I plan to recruit you into all of my extracurriculars,” August continued jesting in response. It was a common joke that he overloaded himself, but he honestly loved all he did as well as the friends he had forged through them. He just hoped that the Slytherin could come to feel the same way about them.

Arionas Nikolaidis
Location: Hogwarts Castle, on the way to the Hospital Wing bridal style!

Arionas looked up in alarm. The Matron never left the hospital wing to look for him unless he was late. His waterproof wristwatch told him that he was not at all late. Just what the..... A brown fuzzy blanket blocked his vision and he felt his head rubbed so that his hair will dry just a little bit. "Hey! Wha!" He protested as he was being manhandled. Though it sounded like the Matron, it certainly didn't behave like it.

When he was finally able to see again, the blanket turning him into a burrito instead, Arionas realized it was Felix Butler. The beater from Gryffindor. "Oh, hey. Thanks for....." Before he could finish his sentence, Arionas was swept off his feet like a sack of potatoes. "Hey dude! I can walk just fine! Put me down!" He protested and shut his eyes as the overgrown Lion stumbled with balacing both his tall self and the unappreciative cargo upright. He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding as he had braced for impact that never came. "Dude! Seriously! Put. Me. Down!" He protested again, but Felix ignored him and instead made his way to the castle, asking what the weather was like in the water.

"Water up here is always much colder than home. Climate change does make things easier and harder at the same time. Currents are changing..... Why am I even explaining....." He stopped himself before blabbering on about the ocean currents he had to combat to get from home to the Black Lake. He struglled to wiggle free. "Come on Felix! This is embarrasing and unsafe. Put me down before I meet the floor face first!"

Caleb O'Neill
Location: Hogwarts Express passages, on his way to the back of the train in foul mood

Unlike every other year, no one had seen the loud mouthed, cocky Gryffindor chaser. He was not messing around, greeting friends or teasing people. Some might have sworn they had seen him passing by, but they surely had been mistaken. There was no way O'Neill was hiding and moving around the crowd like a ghost right?

Wrong. Here he was, Caleb O'Neill, in a black Imagine Dragons hoodie that was characteristical of him. People who knew him better than most could tell with certainty that this hoodie is Caleb from miles away. Even with the hood on, like right now as he made his way on the red locomotive. His face was well-hidden in the hood, being on the larger side of the spectrum, and his head was kept low. His pace was quick. He needed to find his way to the very back of the train as fast as possible and with minimal interaction with everybody else. He didn't feel confident. He didn't feel safe and in his element.

Madi was somewhere behind him, he knew. They had entered the train together, though he had been faster, having nothing to say to his father or stepmom anymore. Summer had been a nightmare and the new school year didn't look like it was going to do anything to ease him out of it. To wake him up. No, going back to school, seeing his friends promised nothing but to add to his nightmare. He didn't want to be pitied. He didn't want to be oggled and he definitely didn't want his friends to see him like that. The scar that made him look like Two-Face was eating him from the inside out all summer.

Nothing good had come out of it, except maybe how he seemed to be able to start rebuilding his relationship with Madi. But his fears were too strong and the pain would not always let him see that. The bright side of things. Nobody stopped him in the corridors of the train. His body language screamed he wanted to be left alone and trouble would befall whoever decided to not respect his wishes. Voices coming from one of the cabins forced him to halt. He knew those voices. August, Glesni and Romeo. No, no, no. They couldn't see him. Not like this.

With a deep breath, he resumed his quick pace, making a point not to look in the cabin. But he knew they had spotted him. Finally he found refuge in an empty cabin at the very end of the train. He flopped on the seat next to the window and sighed in relief. He was out of reach finally. He hoped it would stay that way until they reached Hogwarts. Madi was quick to find him. She slid the door open and he could tell she was talking to him, but he wasn't able to properly register what she was saying. His mind was racing with what had happened. He had ignored August, he had run away and he would have to face him and everybody else during the Welcoming Feast. This was not good.

He did register however that Madi had left and someone else had taken her place. He didn't dare look up though.

Sabrina Runeswell

Location: London, Platform 9 3/4th into the Hogwarts Express
Interaction: Anice Runeswell (@VocaStar)
Mood: Slightly Annoyed & Playful

Sabrina managed to hug her mother goodbye briefly before being hurried along by her sister. It was a welcome distraction seeing as her step-father had only properly said goodbye to Anice before turning to leave. This reaction wasn't surprising but it still soured the veela's mood. The former blonde, now pink haired, girl sucked her teeth before pulling a lollipop from her pocket and popping it in her mouth. She was used to carrying around sweets since her lovely older sister had a terrible sweet tooth. As she made her way through the train she earned herself a few glances but once again it was nothing out of the ordinary. Instead she kept her eyes up, following behind after Anice with an unamused expression on her face.

"Bloody hell, was all this really necessary?" Anice asked glancing back at the veela once she managed to get her luggage loaded into a nearby cabin. Sabrina shrugged before popping the lollipop out of her mouth to speak. "Is water wet dear sister?" She quipped back with a sly smirk on her lips. "They say beauty is pain after all." she continued before plopping down in a seat. "Besides, we're on the train, you could've used magic or something." she added with a shrug before leaning back and propping her feet up on the other seat adjacent to her.

"There we go.." Anice said with a sigh as she loaded the last of the luggage and finally had a chance to catch her breath. Sabrina kind of felt bad for a slight moment having her carry all of her things but then again, she hadn't asked to carry them in the first place so there wasn't much she could do there. Her turquoise orbs watched as her sister revealed a lollipop of her own from her pocket before popping in her mouth. The veela watched silently as her sister's facial expression shifted. She was tense, anxious probably but Sabrina wasn't quite sure why. She didn't want Anice to be wound up before they actually got to school. Hogwarts was a chance to have a break and relax, at least for Sabrina. Anice always took things so seriously so she didn't get to enjoy things the way Sabrina did.

That's when she got an idea. A wicked smirk played on her lips as she slid the door to their cabin shut. She quickly closed the gap between her and her sister, leaning over her she pulled the lollipop from her mouth and grinned, "Loosen up sis, or you'll get wrinkles in your early age~" She said with a purr before popping Anice's lollipop in her mouth and humming happily. "Mmm, nice choice in flavor. Here, try mine," She said before Anice could even protest and put her lollipop in Anice's mouth instead. She loved messing with Anice sometimes, especially the times when she could get her to blush. "So what's the plan once we make it to our home away from home?" She asked her as she sat beside her before leaning against her sister.

Ashley Shafiq
Location: Hogwarts Express Cabin.

Nothing had changed Ashley noted as Ondine unloaded information about her summer with the same speed she unloaded her bag of sweets into her arms. Ashley's eyes glimmed when she took note of the custard tart. Unfortunately she had no time to pop that into her mouth. The sweets kept coming, which she didn't mind, but at this rate she would only be holding and she wouldn't be tasting, which was the whole point of this. "Uhh...." Ondine seemed to realize this herself and was quick to apologize and usher the two of them in, perhaps, the last empty cabin in the train.

Chuckling, Ashley made herself comfortable in the plush seats and finally popped that delightful custard tart in her mouth. Closing her eyes, she allowed herself a sigh of bliss before opening her eyes again. She was grinning like an idiot. Not just because the dessert was that good, but also because she was about to drop a bomb. What was her summer like? Epic. At least in her eyes. It was no secret from Ondine that Ashley had been trying for a couple of years now to become an animagus like her boyfriend and friends from Uagadou. But she had already failed four times.

"I finally did it. I sifted just a month ago!" She exclaimed and people could argue she was sparkling from excitement and pride. "Guess what my animal form is!" She giggled like a toddler being handed more candy which, in a sense, she was. She bit another piece of her custard tart as she waited expectantly for Ondine's answer.

Ainslie Morrison

Location: London, Platform 9 3/4th into the Hogwarts Express
Interaction: Caleb O'Neill (@DayDreamer )
Mood: Excited & Bashful

This summer had been one of many changes for Ainslie Morrison. The main one being restoration of her relationship with her adoptive parents. Much to the encouragement of her second family, the Butler's, Ainslie realized that she truly was just being immature at this point. She caused trouble at home by being rebellious and stubborn. Deep down Ainslie was aware that her parents wanted nothing more than to protect and look after her. She knew that and she still pushed them away.

At the time she felt like she made the right choice. Her fears got the better of her and she decided before she could get hurt again she would take certain precautions. These past few years she's been a terrible daughter and a terrible older sister. However it was when she came home from school this past year, heartbroken and defeated, she realized just how much she still needed them. She couldn't do this on her own as much as thought she could handle it.

Thankfully after gathering the courage to finally lower her guard and throw away her pride she was able to apologize to her parents properly. They didn't have to forgive her but they did. Not only that but they apologized. It wasn't their intention to hurt her, they only did what they thought was best. After some tears they all sat down and talked things out. Holding nothing back Ainslie was able to talk freely about this whole ordeal and how it made her feel. How difficult it was just live her life to the fullest when all she's known had been a lie. Not to mention learning that her biological parents didn't want her did something to her spirit she hadn't even been aware of.

It felt good to finally get all these things off her chest. She also got to hear the reasons behind why her parents decided to keep it secret in the first place. She learned the truth of the situation and also learned the reason they didn't think it was wise for her to pursue her parents. As they say, knowing is half the battle, so finally hearing the truth helped put things in perspective for her. Still, she explained that this was a decision she had to make. If it did turn out to be a mistake her parents had to allow her to make that mistake and learn from it. This was something she needed and they had to know that.

Safe to say after everything was done she felt closer to her family than before. She truly felt like she could share anything with them, and that's what she did. They supported her and gave her the advice she really needed. Not only that, but they also allowed her space to really live her life and make her choices. That was the most notable thing. The second thing that was the most impactful on her summer was none other than her personal bothersome jolly giant, Felix Butler. Now she left Hogwarts with her heart shattered. She'd managed to muster up an ungodly amount of courage after talking things out with Caleb and getting some advice from him. Then she went and finally confessed her feelings to the older Gryffindor only to end up rejected.

In the back of her mind rejection was a very real possibility, however, knowing that didn't make it sting any less. This complicated things a lot for the pair. Felix was Ainslie's best friend. They practically grew up together, they knew everything about each other. Hell even their families were close with one another. No, Ainslie knew the problem truly lied with her. It wouldn't have been a real issue if Ainslie had been okay with staying as friends. She felt sick after the rejection and her anxieties rose and her true fears surrounded her. The thing about going through this time was that it was more unbearable when she couldn't even go to the one she normally would to help her cope.

She struggled like this for a while, caught betwixt yearning to restore things to what they were and just hiding forever. Eventually she was forced to confront this problem head on after Felix managed to close the gap between them himself. They talked things out finally, Ainslie wanting to make sure he knew that if this was a true problem they could just forget everything that happened. Because at the end of the day she really wanted to have her best friend back, despite throwing her feelings away in the process. However, Felix surprised her after she confessed these things. He explained that he didn't want to just forget and go back to business as usual.

Considering that Ainslie had considered anything more between them impossible at this point she found herself floored and speechless. Felix managed to explain to her that he did have feelings for her but he didn't know how to explain it at the time. From there the rest was, as they say, history. A faint blush echoed across the ginger's cheeks just thinking back on it. A lot had changed over the summer but some things remained the same. She was excited to see her friends again, excited for Quidditch season, and most of all excited to take all the wonderful challenges that happened to her and explore them further.

Ainslie made her way on board the train after saying her goodbye's to her family. This time she didn't have Felix by her side to keep her company. 'He should already be at the school' she thought to herself. As she made her way through the train she searched for familiar faces. She frowned as she continued. Where was Caleb? Normally it shouldn't have been hard to find him but she was struggling this time. She reached the end of the train and nearly ran face first into Madison. "Oh, my bad." Ainslie muttered to her captain. "Morrison, great to see you. Cal's in there if you're looking for him," She said with a nod of her head towards the respective cabin. "I look forward to seeing you bring your best this season." She said with a warm smile before patting the ginger's shoulder and leaving.

Ainslie nodded, "Of course, you can count on me," She called after her before turning to enter in the cabin. "Bruh," Ainslie said with an exasperated sigh. "I looked all over for you. If you wanted to play hide 'n seek you could've just said something earlier." She joked with the male as she plopped down in the seat across from him. "You'll never believe the summer I had man, it was wild" she continued but after not receiving any feedback or response from Caleb she frowned and finally glanced over to look at him. He was hunched over practically buried in his black hoodie. "The fuck is with you?" Ainslie asked giving him a once over.

Normally Caleb was a bit more...lively than this. She thought back to the events that took place before summer. She hadn't done anything that made him upset with her right? No, she'd been too preoccupied with Felix drama. Frowning she leaned forward and pulled off his hood so he could finally look her in the face. "Don't you know it's rude not to look someone in the...eye...." Ainslie began but trailed off once she saw what it would seem he was hiding.

Cal had a massive burn mark on his left eye, a new edition that brought to memory the article that had been at the Baker's house that she saw in brief passing. "Oh shit," She commented after a second before chuckling and patting the male's shoulder. "Bruv, if you wanted to start an emo band and get tatted all you had to do was tell me. I'd be totally down!" She flashed him a warm cheeky grin before leaning back in her seat. "Talk to me Cal. What's up?" She said as she crossed her arms, "You should already know I'm not going to leave you alone so...spit it out."

Skylar Anderson

COMC Professor
So many things were happening at once for Skylar's still waking brain to process properly. Virgil had slid his index finger over his lips for some peculiar reason and, as always, Eleanor had appeared from the shadows fangs poping. The new DADA professor had arrived and it seemed she already knew most of their little crew of teachers tasked with reigning in the horde of magical teenagers that called Hogwarts their home. Adelaide Rosier, Auror, miracle, introductions. Skylar was getting increasingly awakened as her brain was forced to work faster and faster.

Caia was smirking, she was keeping close to Adelaide. Gentleman, moustache mug..... Oh no she didn't! Running a finger over her upper lip, rubbing as she did, black ink smudged them. Bicolored eyes fixed on Caia's retreating form, her brain gears were turning with retaliation in mind. Not malicious retaliation of course. Skylar loved pranks as much as the next student, but she would never go down without a fight.

"It's nice to meet you Adelaide, I look forward to working with you. If you need any assistance with Magical Creatures I'm your gal." She said with a smile to the newcomer and charmed the moustache off her face, fixing herself to be more presentable than just woken up from a deathly slumber. She paused for a moment, squinting at the mug and then at Headmaster Pyre and then back at the mug again. Oh boi, the mugs were getting meme-ier by the teacher! The newly appointed professor didn't seem to understand the message of the mug yet and Skylar decided she wouldn't be the one to spoil it. Not yet anyways. She had more important things to do, like thinking up of a way to prank Caia in return.

Was it childish? Yes. Was it a rather awkward or even bad first impression on their new colleague? Quite possibly. Did she care? NOPE!

The first day going back to Hogwarts had always been one he dreaded. Not because it signalled the end of summer, nor was it because he dreaded the schoolwork that was to come. It was a day that never failed to remind Zed who the favoured twin was, and who he was in his grandfather’s eyes: a disappointment.

Like every year, he felt a pang in his heart as he watched his grandfather proudly address his twin brother before handing the boy a gift. Meanwhile, all he received nothing but a reminder to not do anything to bring shame to the Blackbourne name. His father was hardly any better, all he offered was a sad smile and a wave goodbye.

There was no warmth from the Blackbourne men. One would think that after so long he’d have gotten used to it, but he never did. Each year stung just as equally.

Zed was just about to board the train when he was suddenly engulfed in a hug from behind. “How dare you try to leave without saying goodbye.” Soon as his attacker’s grip loosened, he turned around and saw who it was. A smile instantly broke out on his face.

“Aunt Harper! I thought you weren’t going to be able to see me off this year?”

“I thought so as well.”

She reminded him to behave, much like his grandfather did, but her words were much kinder. It was clear to him that it came from a different place than that of his grandfather’s words. The exchange between them was short and sweet, yet the warmth he felt from it was enough to push aside the bitter taste that his family’s farewell had left him.

He boarded the train with a much lighter feeling than he had earlier. His twin was no where to be seen, but that was nothing new. Zed made his way to look for a cabin, hoping to find at least one of this friends—and by sheer luck, he did. Spotting Mel, he loudly called out to her.

“Melvinnn!”

London, Platform 9 3/4th into the Hogwarts Express. Mood: Overjoyed. Interactions: Ashley Shafia @DayDreamer
The blondine was equally all excitement and happiness for her friend at the announcement. Finally! Ondine knew all of the hard work that Ashley had put into becoming an animagus, almost fervently even as everyone else the now blue-haired female had already managed to shift.

“Congratulations!” she squealed, leaping from her place as she threw her arms around her friend once more. It was a cause for celebration and the female was already thinking up thousand-and-one possibilities in how they could celebrate.

Though, when Ashley posed the challenge for Ondine to guess the shape the Ravenclaw had taken she fell silent. Now she ought to be careful, lest she would insult her friend. Biting her lips Ondine contemplated on the question for a bit before carefully raising a finger.

“Since your boyfriend is a lion, maybe a lioness?” she tried before shaking her head. Ashley was much more elegant. “Or perhaps a tiger?” she continued tapping her finger against her lips, finding that the confidence of her friend could match the beauty of the ferocious animal. “Or an antelope!” she continued before falling quiet again. “Though a cat would be adorable, I could take you around,” she sighed wistfully, now she actually did wish for Ashley to be a cat. How adorable that would be.

“Just tell me!” snapping out of her thoughts the female turned back to her friend once more with a bright smile. “Unleash me from anticipation, my friend!” she exclaimed theatrically, letting herself fall back into her seat as if faint.

Emrys Jernigan
Hogwarts, Muggle studies classroom >>> hallways. Interaction: Aironas Nikolaidis @DayDreamer, Felix Butler @Ritual Lobotomy. Mood: Feeling like a zombie after a summer of gaming.

Somewhere in Hogwarts, from a certain room that focussed itself on muggle studies, a faint blue light could be seen from underneath the door accompanied with nostalgic sounds from oldtimers long forgotten. Fervent clicking on buttons could be heard with an occasional grunt, but that was about it.

With the curtains shut Emrys had honestly lost track of time. Between eating and showering the male had spent his summer on little else but his precious games, not that there was much to do in the summer other than discussing lesson plans and occasionally a little research.

His peace was broken, however, when he heard two male voices coming down the hallways. Voices that the former Hufflepuff recognised as students startling him from his gaming stupor as he dropped his console. Wide blue eyes stared back at the bright screen in front of him before the teacher assistant hastily crawled towards the door and pushed it open ever so slightly.

Had he missed the buffet already? Or were these early arrivals? Emrys wasn’t too sure as he glared against the brightness outside where he saw Felix carrying a drenched Arionas bridal style. It was obvious what the tall gryffindor wanted with the struggling hufflepuff, causing the male to roll his eyes at them.

Reaching next to him Emrys searched for his wand from underneath the many blankets, grabbing hold onto the familiar wood before giving a wave towards the pair. A gust of hot air came rushing from the tip, flowing towards Arionas and drying his hair in an instant before the teacher assistant finally revealed himself with a raised brow. Wordlessly he circled the tip of his wand clock-wisely, another stream of heat enveloping the shivering lad whose lips still saw blue from the long trek through the water.

Everything in his expression signalled that he was judging the pair for not thinking of the hot-air and warming charms themselves to dry up.

Garaile Scriven
London, platform 9 3/4th >>> train cabin. Interaction: Grandmother Scriven (NPC), Sabrina Runeswell @Sailor Arti & Anice Runeswell @VocaStar. Mood: Excited and mischievous.

Summers were always dreadfully long. Endless shopping sessions with his mother, business trips disguised as holidays he couldn’t give much more for with his father. The only glimmer of enjoyment he really had were the moments he got to spend at his grandmother’s, when both his parents were too busy to drag him out anywhere and pretend that they were doting parents living in mediocre normalcy. Though time away from Hogwarts were always endlessly boring Garaile wouldn’t give up the moments of genuinity that his grandmother could provide for him.

Of course there was also the occasional appearance of Sabrina, who as per usual would just casually hop over whenever she came to see her father. Though Garaile had long since quit dancing, his interesting extending more towards writing and wreaking havoc, they still hung around each other as per usual. A photoshoot here and there, his face plastered on another billboard by the doings of Sabrina’s father, some extra allowance and another set of clothes to replace the disaster of two seasons back, and Garaile’s summer had officially taken on another loop.

“Oh, let me just embarrass you one more time,” his grandmother pinched Garaile in the cheek, pulling his face down for another slobbering kiss that was sure to gain the disgust and shame of many others if they weren’t Garaile Scriven.

“Oh, grangran, what will you do without me!” the male exclaimed melodramatically, throwing his arms around the older lady, pushing his lanky weight onto her. “Who will massage your old joints and put ointments on your warts?” rubbing his face against the older woman he continued in a loud voice: “Not to mention, what about your wig? You can’t even lift your arm---”

This earned him a slap on the back of his head, cautioning the Slytherin to release the older woman with a shit-eating grin. “Don’t miss me too much, gran,” he winked at the lady who gave him a scornful eye.

And despite all the banter the two knew that they would miss the other. Garaile for the sincerity that his grandmother provided that was so rare in a world of glamour, gran gran for having to let go of the little excitement she still had in her otherwise dull and very dreadful world.

With that Garaile pushed through the wall, entering platform the mysterious platform his muggle grandmother couldn’t access. Startled eyes, scornful looks, terrified expressions, they all passed by as soon as the Slytherin emerged with his usual grin. He enjoyed the path paved for him by the students who dashed back, or jumped away as soon as they realised who it was that was about to cross their path. Some of the first years, and the parents were clueless, but that made it all the more fun as the older students started to tug away their younger siblings, or tried to distract themselves with their parents.

This wasn’t much different after that Garaile had put away his luggage and climbed into the train. Students duck into random cabins to avoid him. Others plainly turned around and went back down where they had come from. The last category simply froze, waiting for the blonde to pass with either a glare, or a sad attempt of not trying to catch his attention. Neither had much effect on him as he just shot them a meaningful smile back.

"So what's the plan once we make it to our home away from home?"

Hearing a familiar voice pipe up Garaile was quick to turn into a certain cabin. Smoothly opening the door he leaned in the doorway with one arm hanging over his head.

“My favourite pair of siblings,” he gasped acting quasi-surprised to see the Runeswell sisters there. Raising a brow he tilted his head a little, a dark glee taking over on his face. “The plan for this year is the same as always,” he quipped before sliding into the compartment and finding himself a comfortable spot, casually throwing his legs over on the seats as well.

“Giving Anice a nervous breakdown, tormenting my fellow Hogwarts students, continue publishing the Weasel, make some profit of my lovely muse,” the male casually listed off the ideas he had running in mind, long fingers counting along as he did so. “Got to make sure all that sugar gets expended somewhere, right?” the male grinned with a wink.

“That pink looks lovely on you, Rina dear,” he finally cooed, though he had known about the colour for a time already.

Eleanor Hildegard ✧ Choir Master & Charms
Location : Hogwarts Castle, Faculty Room
Mood: Mischievous

There was a bit of silence after the pink haired vampire had made herself known. She hadn't missed her cousin's eyes sharpen at her. She already knew what that look meant; "Behave yourself." She knew what Virgil's facial expressions meant without him needing to say anything at all. Well, the few times his face made any expression. She offered a coy smirk back, she was only teasing after all, he was such a bore at times.

Caia took charge to lighten the mood again, taking her friend by the shoulder and introducing the vampy as the choir and charms instructor. She joked about not knowing how Elle got in that position and Eleanor giggled. Caia always knew how to brighten a room somehow. The new DADA professor went on to say how elated she was to be joining the team, remarking that it was like a 'reunion'. Eleanor made a face before she remembered that quite a few teachers had attended Hogwarts and it was likely that Caia hadn't been the only one in the room she had known before.

Headmaster Pyre spoke up mentioning something of the newbie being recently admitted into St. Mungo's which immediately sparked curiosity in Eleanor. What kind of trouble had landed her there? Perhaps a run in with a vampire?

Pyre continued to gift her a comical mug, a staple in the teacher initiation. He must have conjured these mugs up himself because they were always so fitting. The newbie made mention that the mustache printed on the ceramic seemed familiar and then made mention of the crudely drawn mustache on Professor Skylar's face. Skylar who had been unaware up until that moment realized the prank and quickly wiped it off in confusion. Eleanor giggled once more, still finding it humorous that Skylar had fallen asleep in the chair in the first place.

As the newbie thanked Pyre for her mug, Skylar quickly jumped up to introduce herself and offer her services at any time. She was a likeable person but perhaps a bit spastic at times. Eleanor sipped her tea, deciding to keep her mouth shut lest her cousin rip her a new one. It seemed most people in the room were well acquainted with the DADA professor so she'd have to play nice.

Anice Runeswell ✧ Slytherin Prefect
Location: Hogwarts Express
Mood: Anxious and Annoyed

Of course, her dear sister was always quick to have something to say. She was a smart-mouth as she was beautiful. Remarking that she should just use magic, Sabrina reminded her of their mother more and more very day. Sabrina made herself comfortable, relaxed as ever. Anice sometimes wished she could be as calm as her younger sister but her mind seemed to always be running at full speed.

Suddenly, to Anice's surprise, Sabrina sprung up and shut their cabin door. "Wha-uh-?" Anice barely made out before her sister quickly popped Anice's sucker out of her mouth and put it in her own. "Mmm, nice choice in flavor." She smiled. The brunette's face flared up in red, but before Anice could even protest Sabrina shoved her own lollipop into her mouth. "Sa-mmm!" Anice tried to resist but ultimately failed. Both girls were born with a sweet tooth, most definitely passed down from their mother. Anice's heart rate lowered to normal as Sabrina had had her fun and sat down next to her. Anice let out a slightly annoyed sigh but managed a smile. "Are you always going to be so childish?"

Sabrina leaned up against her asking about their plan for when they get to "their home away from home." Anice smiled. Both the sisters found Hogwarts very dear to them and their own home situation wasn't great for the both of them. Hogwarts really was their home. Perhaps that was another reason she had anxiety. They were almost 7th years and they'd be graduating soon. Never to return to those stone walls.

Anice was ready to lay out the well structured plan she had drawn out but caught her breath as the door to the cabin swiftly opened. “My favourite pair of siblings,” A familiar lanky figure stood in the doorway peering his head into the cabin. Anice could hardly get a word out to greet Scriven before he slid in and made himself comfortable across from the sisters. Laying out his own plan for the year, Anice couldn't help the rush of blood to her cheeks as he mentioned giving her a nervous breakdown. He went on to mention the Weasel, his school paper that was really just full of false rumors, sensationalized stories, and gossip. Anice always thought it was such a pity that Garaile wasted his talent for writing and journalism on such a tacky and tasteless paper.

“Got to make sure all that sugar gets expended somewhere, right?” he winked. Anice's face felt warm again. Scriven really was a character. Anice hadn't been too fond of him, he didn't have the best reputation around school to put it nicely. He wasn't a good influence on her younger sister either; always roping her into doing things that could get her into trouble. But over the years she had to deal with his antics since Sabrina was so bent on being his friend. And at times Anice appreciated his involvement in Sabrina's life. Even though Anice wished she could always be there for her younger sister, she knew Sabrina got lonely and Scriven alleviated some of that. Still she wished it could have been anyone but him.

The prefect crossed her arms "You both better behave yourselves this year, you don't want to get expelled so close to graduation." Anice eyed the weasel. She was pretty sure he was on his last legs with the school. Although perhaps expulsion would be a blessing. "And don't forget we start N.E.W.T. classes this year. So I'd spend my time hitting the books, Mr. Scriven." She threw her current lolli out which had belonged to Sabrina and popped a new one in her mouth. This ride was going to be much more stressful if Scriven would be staying in their cabin the whole time. That's just what Anice needed right now.

Ashley Shafiq
Excited and in tempo

"Congratulations!" Ashley barely had enough time to pop the last piece of her custard tart in her mouth before a blonde bullet hugged her. She giggled with her mouth full as Ondine's face changed to that of concentration, trying to figure out what her animagus form is. It was interesting to see what her friend thought she was as an animal. She felt flattered. "Since your boyfriend is a lion, maybe a lioness? Or perhaps a tiger?" Ashley shook her head at that guess and promptly gulped down the last bit of the tart. "I am flattered, but nope!" She popped the p sound and snapped her fingers when Ondine suggested the antelope. "Warm!" She suggested and grinned like an idiot as Ondine daydreamed about how cute it would be to carry Ashley around school as a cat.

She full on laughed as Ondine surrendered with theatrics. "I would be the one giving you a ride at places. I turned into a horse! An Grey arabian mare to be exact. Which may or may not have permanent blue mane. I am not sure how the animagus form works with temporary dyed hair honestly. Guess we will have to find out." She mused. She was tempted to finish the charm on her hair as soon as they got out of the train just to test it. However finding the right shade of blue again would have been a pain in the ass and she decided against it.

"Man that custard tart was heaven by the way."

Outfit: Will's Outfit Here!
Tags: @Ritual Lobotomy
Notes: I'm a bit rusty with my son. Please forgive.
Will sniffed, his nose picking up the wonderful aroma of freshly brewed 'miracle juice' as he so jokingly would call it from time to time. "Very good morning to you, mister Langley. Long night, I imagine?" the deep voice of his former teacher now co-worker graced his ears. A low chuckle managed to escape his lips and that was all. Will would apologize to the others for his lack of manners later however for now socializing simply cost too much energy and he had none to spare.

Will reached for his own mug, a courtesy gift from the Headmaster when he joined the teaching team as well. Taking a napkin he wiped out the inside of the mug just to make sure it was clean before slowly making his way over to where Virgil was. "All yours," he replied without making eye contact with him. The vampire pushed the pot towards the exhausted history teacher who only managed to mutter a soft "Thanks" before pouring the coffee in his own mug. "Hawaii. Kona," Virgil explained to Will as he took another sip. "Mmm" Will hummed. "The most recent one I've got. Lovely. Slightly spicy, wonderful aromatic finish. You can practically taste the force of the volcanic soil through it," Virgil mused as he continued to enjoy his beverage.

Wilbur certainly appreciated having another coffee connoisseur around. He adjusted his fixings he usually added to his coffee based on the type of brew so he appreciated knowing what it was ahead of time. When he was finally done he picked up his mug and brought it to his lips. A sigh of relief escaped his lips as the warmth flooded his body and he felt energy actually being restored to him. "If you enjoy Kona I'd recommend the Ethiopian Mocha Harrar. Same sort of feel, spicy however with notes of blackberry. A lot of people describe it as 'bright'. A great brew to really wake you up. It's famous for it's winey and fruity, floral-toned acidity, I think you'd enjoy it."

Will took another sip from his mug and hummed some more as he let the warmth sink into his bones. That was the first proper conversation he had with someone today. Crazy that he really just needed caffeine in his system to get him started. Will tapped his finger against his own personal mug, a gift that was given to him by the headmaster when he first started teaching as well. Apparently it was a 'tradition' of sorts. His mug read, 'I discovered Atlantis!' Even at work he couldn't escape the running joke that he looked like Milo Thatch from the old muggle cartoon.

"If you'll excuse me, mister Langley, I will be greeting our new colleague now. I will be seeing you back in the faculty room, yes?" Virgil said with a knowing smirk before gracefully heading back into the Faculty room. Will's azure orbs followed him before what he said really sunk in. They had a new addition to the team and Will hadn't even noticed. With a sigh he pinched the bridge of his nose. So much for his social improvements. He decided to put off heading into the Faculty room to greet everyone properly until he finished his first cup of coffee. He still wasn't fully awake and alert and he wanted to give his best welcome to their new team member. So instead Will leaned against the counter next to the coffee pot, closed his eyes, and focused on fully enjoying his cup.

....

When he really focused like that it didn't take long for him to 'truly' wake up. A few minutes went by and his first cup of coffee was finished. He inhaled feeling alive once more as he poured himself another cup. As he fixed up his second cup he picked up on another familiar voice just at the entrance of the side room. A smirk graced his lips as he adjusted his glasses and turned to face Caia. "Yes, yes, I'm on my way." He responded to her before she even had the chance to really reprimand him from hiding out here. Caia being Caia he figured that's why she was here.

Madison Westenberg

Location: London, On board the Hogwarts Express
Interaction: Caleb O'Neill (@DayDreamer), Melinda Geralds (@Nemopedia), and Zedekiah Blackbourne (@darkflames13)
Mood: Tired but Expectant

To say her summer had been eventful would be the understatement of the century. Madi felt like she'd shaved a couple years from her life with all the stress she'd been under. Either that or she'd aged far beyond what her appearance showed. Either way the Gryffindor Quidditch captain was exhausted and the new school year hadn't even begun.

From the endless events her mother dragged her to, to looking after her brother and the never ending trouble he constantly found himself in, Madi really had no time to herself. If she wasn't looking after her parent's who's marriage was on the rocks then she was looking out for Caleb. If she wasn't looking out for Caleb she was working her ass off to keep up appearances for her family. In this trying time they couldn't be made to seem weak. The false smiles, the politics, the damn dresses and tea parties. All of it had starting to take it's toll on the girl.

One thing was certain, Madison wasn't the same girl she used to be. Hell, she didn't even look like the same person anymore. Forced to carry a burden that wasn't her's to carry Madi had been given a reality check she wasn't sure she wanted. It felt like her family was on the brink of drowning and she was the only one trying to keep things afloat. With Lacey gone and married off it was onto Madi to keep things going. To not be a failure and to 'make her family proud.'

It was hard. Madi didn't even have time to process her own feelings about her family's situation or all the changes happening to her because she was running around taking care of everyone else. She hoped that the school year would offer her the break she desperately needed but even she knew that probably wouldn't be the case. The new school year came with promises of it's own stresses and Madi honestly wasn't sure if she'd be able to handle them or break.

Still, she didn't have time to complain about her situation, there were more pressing matters she needed to focus on. Like her brother for example. Since the incident he'd been....really going through it. She couldn't help but feel bad for him and so she tried her best to be there and support him. Especially after the loss of his biological mother, he didn't have 'family' left besides hers. And she was sure he'd rather be anywhere than with her family. Still she did her best to encourage and talk with him but it seem it wasn't taking so she left him with his friend Ainslie in hopes that she'd be able to cheer him up.

Madison ran her fingers through her hair and sighed. For now she just needed to try and get her mind focused on something else. She made her way back through the train when she heard a familiar voice. “Melvinnn!” the voice of her childhood friend Zed calling out to their other childhood friend Melinda caused Madi's face to brighten. She followed the sound of his voice to a cabin where everyone was gathered. Doing her best to hide her exhaustion a smirk played on her lips. "Well, well, well, look what we have here. If it isn't my favorite people." Madi teased hooking an arm around Zed.

She mocked bowed at Melinda, continuing on with her theatrics. "Oh but where are my manners? It is such an honor to be in your presence Miss-future-head-girl." Madi teased some more, "I hope you remember me when you get famous." she said with a bat of her long eyelashes before tucking her long hair behind her ear. "Ugh I've missed you guys." She said before scooting into the cabin and making room for herself before even being offered a place.

He should have known that the ginger Hobbit would find him eventually, but he was genuinely surprised and freaked out when she pulled his hood off. For a moment he made eye contact from sheer startle. That look of shock in her eyes. He immediately went on the defensive. "What the Hell Ainslie?!" He almost yelled as he was fast to pull his hood back up and burry his self even deeper in his hoodie if that was even physically possible. He hadn't liked that or the look he had been given and Ainslie was really fast in picking that up. He could feel the cheekiness radiating off of her as she patted him, but it made him slump even further in his seat. He wasn't ready. He just wanted to hide away from the world.

But of course Ainslie wouldn't let the matter drop, just like how he had never let her rest when he knew something was wrong with her and he would pester her for a list of names he would have to take care off, half-jokingly, half-seriously. For several moments it seemed like he woudn't speak or actually look at her. His eyes were focused at the scenery they passed by. Then he took a deep breath. "Fiendfyre. It lashed out as a wolf and the paw caught my face. It was all over the Daily Prophet for a while." His voice was soft and bitter at the end. As always, there were columns that were looking for that big scoop and made all sorts of rumours and lies out of it. Like how a mere student his age knew how to counter Fiendfyre even though it was not part of his curriculum or what he was even doing there when the only other wizard in that area was an Azkaban escapee. All sorts of consiracy theories had been given fuel to grow and he didn't like it that he was unable to do do anything to stop them.

Ainslie Morrison

Location: London, On board the Hogwarts Express, Last Cabin
Interaction: Caleb O'Neill (@DayDreamer )
Mood: Concerned & Excited

Ainslie's brown orbs stayed trained on the Gryffindor male despite how he tried to hide from her. "What the Hell Ainslie?!" he jerked back from her and retreated into his 'shell'. "Right back at ya. It's just me Caleb. Jesus, you'd think I was going to roast you myself the way you're flinching from me." She paused for a moment. Perhaps burn jokes were a little distasteful at the current moment. Things were silent for a while before he spoke up again. "Fiendfyre. It lashed out as a wolf and the paw caught my face. It was all over the Daily Prophet for a while."

Ainslie nodded, so that story really was about him. Crazy how her friend was now practically famous. Her gaze softened on him before she sighed and leaned forward. "Listen bud, I don't know what happened back there that you dealt with. Whatever crazy fucked up shit happened but it happened and you can't change that. The only thing you can change is the present and the future and that's what you need to focus on." Ainslie paused for a moment, really taking the time to think about how to bring some needed sense to her friend.

"Forgive me when I say, this mark on your face isn't a big deal. You're still you, mark or no mark and that's not going to change. Hell if anything the mark makes you look more badass. Maybe now you can finally look like the bad boy type you've been emulating." She added with a chuckle before taking his and in hers and gently brushing off his hood once more. "You've gotta be okay with it. Because once you come to terms with it, nothing anyone says will matter. So what if people talk? No one has a story like you. So what if people make fun of you? Ladies love a guy with scars." She continued a gentle smile on her face.

"No matter what I'm still your friend and you're still mine. No face scar is gonna change that. So what do you have to lose? What do you have to be afraid of? As long as you've got your friends by your side you can handle anything. I mean that." She said and gave his hand a final squeeze before leaning back in her seat. "Whatever it is that has you still acting unlike yourself, tell it to fuck off before I beat it's ass for you." Ainslie added with her typical vulgar fashion.

The ginger stretched in her seat before tilting her head to the side and smirking at the male, "Now look what you've made me do. I had half a mind to keep teasing you but you've made me all sentimental and yucky." She continued crossing her arms over her chest. "You owe me chocolate chip cookies for that one." She laughed before reclining even more in her seat and propping her feet up on his lap. "Now pleaaaase tell me you're feeling better so I can tell you about my Summer. You're gonna lose your shit I promise." She said with a bright grin.
