Naild frowned a bit, "But your dreams might mean something..." He never remembered if he had a dream or not. He was sure he did have them like everyone else but he never remembered anything when he awoke. Sometimes he thought that was a real blessing...times like now. He went with her toward the kitchen feeling hungry as well but then she stopped and looked a bit off. "It's your seeing. Relax and let the vision come Rebecca. The more you can see the better we can handle the trouble." Her words about his mother had hit him hard. He hadn't actually even thought about her in days, and that shamed his soul. Now as he urged her to remember as much as she could, he found himself worried about her. There was a sick sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach that would not let loose. He could almost hear her speaking words he did not want to hear before she opened her mouth or had even see everything the Sight was trying to tel her.

Chastianna blushed a bit, "I think anyone would look amazing in that dress. It was divine." She came near to him and looked him over carefully, "No..not a bit of snootiness to be seen. You just look your handsome self...well perhaps a bit cleaner." Her eyes sparkled with impishness and she bowed her head slightly, "An escort to breakfast would be most welcome, thank you." It felt lice to have the comfort of another meal, that could be eaten in safety. Like him, she found herself looking for evil creatures where there were none out of habit. "It's kind of nice not to have to worry about monsters around every corner isn't it?"

Caden felt the little high five from his son and grinned a bit. "He's going to be strong.." He flipped open his journal and was about to say something when a wave of dark magic washed over him and sent a ripple up his spine. "We need to go to the war room and wait for Morden and the others to arrive...something is happening. I can feel it." He reached for her hand and then left their room and made their way into the throne room just as the others arrived there. He looked at the entrance and frowned, "They look agitated too..." His hand gave hers a reassuring squeeze as he stood and waited for the others to enter and move toward them. "I take it all of you felt what I did?"

Morden stepped forward, "Helena is not fully contained...her dark magic is seeping out. I can't tell what she is up to but it's never good."

Ulna looked at Morden, "And how do we know you are?" There was wariness in her voice and body language. "I tried to scry you out this morning and was given nothing. The first time ever. You have blocked my sight somehow."

"Not I," he defended. "I have no reason to limit your sight Sovalna...especially now when it may be the best means of discovering Helena's intent." He couldn't blame her for distrusting him though given the bombshell he laid on them yesterday. "It is true that I have done things in secret, that I have kept secrets for decades, but all I do is to protect the Fae and this family...my family."

Varen listened and his mind was working overtime, "There will be time enough to bicker about the right and wrong of past decisions. We need to know what is going on now so that we may defend ourselves against it. I do not like to feel like I am stabbing at the dark blindly."

Caden nodded, "I quite agree...and Sovalna. I understand your concern. Perhaps we should find Rebecca...it could be Helena does not know of her gift and has not thought to block her powers...I know she is not trained but ..."

Ulna nodded, "NO, she is not, but I can interpret her visions if she can see them. Between the two of us we should be able to figure things out."

Caden nodded and pulled Lauranna closer, "If I had to guess I would wager they are in or near the kitchen by now. We should bring Chastianna and Gavin as well. I wouldn't want Helena to be hurting them now that we have them safely here."

Luckily for them all, Helena was not all knowing or capable of seeing outside her cell. She was sending out waves of black magic intended to alter the mind and will of whoever was susceptible to it. Her motive was to see their society tear itself apart from within, to spread hatred and mistrust, and to have them tear at one another until they were all dead and gone. The only purposeful thing she had done was set the magic against Morden's family as a direct target. Any way she could hurt him and make him vulnerable was of benefit to her.

Alden heard odd sounds not far from where he was picking berries and crouched down beneath the thick underbrush as they neared. It was a rather large group of people! He hadn't seen anyone human since he'd arrived, and joy filled him. He was about to reveal himself when their conversation reached his ears. They had left someone for dead? What the devil kind of people were these? He stayed hidden until they were far gone and he could no longer hear them and then he retraced their path. It was not at all difficult since they ere tramping down everything in their path mindlessly. If they didn't care about being followed, they were more ruthless than he feared. He found a larger area of crushed undergrowth and saw the hole. he rushed over to it and saw a body at the bottom of the hole. "Dear God!" he exclaimed as he saw the blood and the broken look of her body. "They were beating on a woman?!" His anger was elevated to an entirely different place and he vowed to stay clear of the people forever. He considered his options and pulled the knife from the leather sheath at his thigh and began cutting long lengths of vine from those hanging from the tall trees above. He wove them quickly and expertly into a makeshift carried ad then tied off his long rope to a thick tree trunk near the hole. He lowered himself and the carrier into the hole and hoped she'd remain unconscious. He knew moving her was going to hurt, but he had no choice. he could not tend here in this confined space. He pulled her from the ground and tied her to the carrier and then climbed back up before dragging the carrier up afterward. She was in far worse condition than he'd originally imagined and he decided to leave her in the carrier. Tying it to his shoulder he began making his way back to his home near the very edge of the forests to the south where the two rivers met. He tried to go slow enough so as not to jostle her overmuch, but not so slow that she would possibly die before he arrived home,

Rebecca gave a wince of pain in her head, but slid down, unable to walk further, as she tried to open her mind again to the dreams.. In her mind's eye, she saw Serena, surrounded, violently tortured by not one or two- but damned near all of the Fae of the Glen! "Your mom...! Niald...! We have to help her... I can't get her location ... but she's been terribly tortured.... Helena's... magic... it's warped all the Fae in the glen-- please... I can't breathe--- I can't-...." She broke down, sobbing, feeling terrible sadness. She tried to pull herself up, to get to her feet so they could run to the others- but the pain held her down... The blackness that caught Serena in its void-like hold, almost captured her. "Go-warn the others, Niald.. I'll ... I'll catch up." She told him, knowing time was of the essence.

Gavin agreed, the lack of monsters was calming, soothing even...He smiled at her remark of his being cleaner. "Yes, but don't let your guard down just yet... Apparently this woman, Helena can still do massive damage from her prison.. We'll need to be alert." He cautioned, as he escorted her to the kitchen, still unaware of the turmoil within and outside of the palace.

Jasmine studied Morden, realizing he had a lot of bottled up emotions from his past, as did they all. "Morden, please, tell us how to get rid of Helena for good... We'll all rest easier knowing that witch is out of commission. If there's anything I can do to help, let us know... I wish we could just end her here and now." She added, feeling angry that woman was getting to live and continue damaging them!

Serena stayed unconscious, nearly dead, as Alden carried her to his home. She felt no pain as she sped through the dark tunnel; her heart rate slowing as so much blood gushed from her head it was like a busted gyser... It was one small blessing that she kept on sleeping, the pain in her right, now-useless arm would be unbearable, her back was bloodied, there were bruises all over her body, and she would have no memories of any part of her life when she woke up...poor woman was about to wake up in a threshhold of agony that would last a long, long time...~

Nathan began rounding up the others, gently helping Rebecca, Niald, then Gavin and Chastianna to the main room. He could tell Rebecca had had a vision already, and waited for the girl to calm down from whatever it was. When she spoke, his heart plummeted.... of all the people...why? Why did Serena have to be made a sacrifice like that?? He glanced at Morden, words lost to him completely... they had to take action, but how would they find Serena if she was really far away? ? ?

Naild wasn't about to leave her, so he scooped her up and was carrying her when he met Nathan. Nodding he carried her to where the king and queen were waiting and set her down on one of the chairs next to the thrones. "Just breathe...relax and breathe..." He was worried sick about his mother but he was wise enough to realize Rebecca was their best hope of finding her.

Chastianna saw nathan approaching and smiled, "Good mornin..." she began and then seeing the look on his face frowned, "What has happened?" She asked as they followed him back to the others and he filled them in as he could. She saw Rebecca looking very pale and immediately went to her side, "What has happened? Are you well?" She didn't notice that her hands were glowing as she spoke and that tendrils of powerful magic were flowing from her and into Rebecca to calm, heal and strengthen her. Her subconscious knew what was needed and just acted, though she was totally unaware of it as she was focused on Rebecca.

Morden saw Rebecca and frowned. She'd seen something that was disturbing and almost paralyzing to her. He waited, knowing Ulna was far more able to help than he was. He did however make note of Chastianna's magic flowing and allowed himself the underhanded opportunity to draw some of it off so he'd know what type she was manifesting. Oddly enough it was white magic, though it was being fueled by her dark core. How incomparably fascinating. he'd not have believed such a thing were possible if he hadn't seen it and felt it himself. He stood next to Nathan and motioned him away from the group a bit, "Chastianna is using magic...look..." He leaned closer, "It is white healing but coming from a dark core power."

Caden overheard, because he was magically enhancing his ability to do so, for fear he'd miss something important. He wasn't going to intervene unless someone was in danger. Any help was appreciated, and he could see that Rebecca was calming down and that look of panic was fading a bit. He knelt in front of her, "What did you see Little love?" he asked gently. "Don't try to go back just tell us what you saw for now....ok?"

Varen watched all of this and was deep in thought, already planning and strategizing how to mobilize the few guards they had into teams, and which he felt were more capable than the others. Jasmine would come to realize that when he was planning, he was very quiet. At the moment he was listening and watching. He'd been an adviser to Queen Aura so he was aware that Royals were not easy to kill and that it required something extraordinary to pull it off. Helena was old, well versed in magic use and obviously abuse as well. No she was not going to be easily killed. Hell, they weren't even able to contain her at present.

Ulna went to Rebecca. She too could see and feel the tendrils of Chastianna's magic and discern their origins as well as the strength of it. "Rebecca," she said softly, "Look at me and speak what you saw. I will go back." She looked deeply into the girl's eyes as she repeated what she said to Naild. Most of Rebecca's distress and panic were because she could not see where Serena was and she desperately wanted to. Forcing second sight was painful and usually completely ineffective. Especially in one so inexperienced with visions and the gift. Ulna closed her eyes and tapped into the vision and followed it. It was chaotic and jumped from image to image. She was in the forest, but the vision jumped seven times from place to place and image to image. She did her at the last in the hole looking to her near death. All her anger toward Morden evaporated with that image of his beloved wife at the bottom of that hole. She patted Rebecca's hand, "You did well..." She looked at Chastianna and smiled, "As did you ... Keep her calm for the next few moments until this passes." She stood then and turned to the others. "Serena has been attacked by the people from our village. Their eyes were oddly unfocused and slightly red. I believe Helena is influencing them somehow...They dragged her deep into the forest, but the images jumped several times. I cannot be sure which direction they were going..." Her eyes went to Morden and the stunned, numb look on his face nearly undid her. "They meant to leave her for dead...possibly thought they had killed her. They tossed her into a hole and left her there. I am so sorry..."

Chastianna blinked, "Do what?" Was she doing something aside from being there for a friend? She continued to hold Rebecca's hand oblivious of the magic she was using.

Morden watched and then when Ulna turned around her words stole the breath from his lungs. He had to grab hold of Nathan's arm to keep from falling to the ground. Left for dead in a hole? How could anyone do such a thing to his sweet wife? Helena did indeed know who he was, though for whatever reason she hadn't told anyone in the room yesterday. Was she purposely targeting him? Trying to weaken his abilities? He had to believe she was. How stupid he was to not have realized his family was in danger. "I should have prepared for such a vile thing from Helena..."

Caden was shocked and stunned, "Only the forests to the west and south are thick enough to hide such a deed. We will focus on those areas." His gaze moved to Morden's, "Varen and jasmine will head out immediately...we must join our collective knowledge and devise a way to contain Helena's magic. She cannot be allowed to use her dark influences any longer."

Morden nodded, "Agreed. Serena will never be safe unless Helena is contained. She knows it was I who imprisoned her."

Varen nodded, "We will be gone in less than ten minutes with half the royal guard, if that meets with your approval."

Caden nodded, "It does...South and West Varen..."

Varen bowed his head, "Understood my King." He ushered Jasmine into the armory and he stood over the map of the Glen. "Here and here.." he indicated on the map so she could see. "There are two places that the forest is thick and dense. I will take Denyl, Joren, and Frax and search the west. You will take Ham, Peyton, and Jory and search the south. You have farther to travel to begin your search so you have the faster guards." he looked up at her then, "Please be careful..."

Rebecca did indeed feel so much calmer, she gave all the rest of the details that she could.. "Wait....! Something else is happening... A man.... not any one of the fae here in the Glen...someone... different... he's found Serena.. He's horrified at what's happened to her and he's taking her to his home... he's trying to take care of her... It'll be so hard though..without magic.." She wiped her still-streaming eyes, and hugged Caden, Nathan and Niald.. and Chastianna. "I'm alright now... I need to know... how do I pinpoint one person's location? Alna... is there a way to do that?" she asked, her strength returned, but her sight was becoming less intense... she needed to keep it where Serena was!

Jasmine understood Varen's reasoning. "You be careful as well,. I will use all of my talents to help this quest to find Serena. I won't return until she's home again." She made sure she was armed, and had on silver armor, before loading up on arrows, and her long-bow. Once ready, she headed out, leading her troops out of the palace, hoping for a little luck.

Laurana was impressed with Chastianna's abilities. "Keep practicing, Chastianna, you're getting the hang of your magic already. Took me weeks of training, you'll be a powerful magic user in no time." She added assuringly. She too, felt the accute pain of losing Serena, but panic or despair weren't going to help. She would do all that was necessary to get this situation back in order. "Morden, Nathan... we still need those dark artifacts out of the swamp.. I wouldn't ask anyone to go back there... I'm sorry for the danger, but it's our best shot at defeating Helena... will you both go?" She asked, reluctant to even think of sending Gavin back there, he'd just left!

what had Gavin said earlier about letting their guards down? Jeez, talk about extreme! He'd only vaguely met Serena a while ago, and had thought she was a wonderful person...how could their own people attack her outright like that? Though from snippets of gossip, he'd understood soon, that she'd been a social pariah, because she was a widow... how stupid.. if it were up to him, he'd have those rotten Fae-people sent right on out of the Glen... everyone who'd participated in such an unjust act weren't fit for such a haven. "I'll see that they stay safe, if you'll send me along." He volunteered.

Nathan smiled at Gavin's bravery, glad the man was fully on board to help... "It would be good, not to stay lost, and be able to avoid nests of monsters. When do we leave, Queen Laurana?" He asked, gently hugging Alna. He hated to leave her, but hopefully she understood, this had to be done.

Ulna turned to Rebecca when she began speaking. Someone different? She went back and knelt before the girl and linked their sight once more. "A HUMAN!" She blinked as she saw him. What was a human doing in the glen? How had he gotten in? Why was he allowed to live? The Glen protected itself against unbelievers and evil forces. Had the Douglas ever found it he'd have been strangled by vines upon entering. "He is being careful with her...this is good. It will give us time to find her." She didn't say that she feared even the human's efforts may be in vain for Morden's sake, but she felt they were more likely going on a hunt to retrieve a body and not the woman.

Varen too armed himself and was loaded with maps, arrows for his long bow and bolts for his crossbow. He pulled on his glistening golden armor and nodded to jasmine, "I will be careful...be sure to gather food provisions from the storehouse before you leave as well. It will save time at the outset." They'd eventually have to forage for food should their search be forced to stretch beyond a day or two, but at least they would be able to begin as quickly as possible.

Chastianna looked at her, "I am doing something?" she asked still very confused, "What am I doing? And...I guess more importantly..HOW am I doing it?"

Morden saw the confusion and took her hand and showed her the glowing light there. "This is how...and WHAT you were doing was feeding healing white magic to Rebecca. It was calming and strengthening her all this time." He released her, "I cannot tell yet if you must touch for this to happen, or if in time you will be able to cast as Lauranna does with only the power of your mind. All magical cores have their own means, but royals do not generally have to rely upon physical touching or wands or crystals as others do. And you my dear, are a royal."

Chastianna looked at her hand and then at Rebecca, "it helped?" she asked terrified and trembling. But when Morden called her a royal she balked, "You said so before but how can that be possible? The king and Queen were killed when Lauranna was a baby...and she is much older than I..."

Morden looked at the group and drew in a breath. "She APPEARS to be older than you, but she is in fact your twin sister. Lauranna is the daughter of the light and you of the dark. Lauranna's magical core closely resembles your mother's and yours, Chastianna, closely resembles your father's. I did not realize that a dark fae core magic could produce white fae magic...though perhaps that is specific to you being of both. Still...there were two babies that had to be hidden from Helena and her even more evil sister Hannah. I was fortunate to catch Hannah at her weakest moment, when she'd used all her magical core to kill Lars and Aura and thus enabling me to kill her. Helena however was at full strength and all I could do was imprison here here and take the fae to safety outside the Glen." He frowned, "I thought I was doing the right thing, and that perhaps with decades of time imprisoned her power would fade. It was a foolish and naive hope. Forgive me...I did as I felt best to preserve our family line..."

Caden lifted a brow, "Our family?"

Morden nodded, "Aura was my brother's eldest daughter." He looked at the twins, "I am your uncle ..." His gaze moved to Nathan as if hoping he would say something as well. He could not force Nathan's memory to return but he dearly prayed it would. he was going to need his magic and power to do what was necessary.

It was all Caden could do to keep his jaw from falling to the floor. Morden was a royal. All this time he'd been mentored by a royal. Now he was beginning to wonder about himself and if all the things he'd been told about that were true. He looked at everyone in the room. "I think for now, we will let Varen and Jasmine begin. We have pressing matters to attend and I think we are going to need all of our collective faculties to accomplish them."

Morden sadly looked away from Nathan. "If Chastianna can learn to control her power she can use the Crown of Tenebrous we recovered from the dark swamp to contain Helena's magic. It cannot kill her but it can contain her."

Alna nodded, "Yes this is true..the crown can contain anyone of dark magic" She now understood why her earlier vision was so pressing. "But how will we be able to destroy her? Chastianna cannot spend the rest of her life keeping the woman contained. it is too much to ask of anyone."

Morden drew in a breath, "We must recover the amulets." Hannah and Helena used ancient amulets to draw Aura and LArs' magical cores from their bodies. This is how Hannah was able to kill them and even then only barely. Lars fought like a man possessed trying to save Aura. I was too busy battling Helena to give him aid..." He looked down at the floor obviously guilty over his perceived failure. "If we can find them and bring them back, we can free that magic and trap hers in both, separating it forever. However...I have no idea where they are...though I assume Hannah sent them to her domain for safe keeping."

"The dark Swamp," Alna said softly and with a bit of a curse following.

"Caden frowned, "Well then....how can we find them?"

Alna looked at Rebecca, "We can consult the cauldron, and beg for their location to be revealed. Perhaps together we will receive an answer." She knew Rebecca was focused on finding Serena, "I know to you this seems wrong after seeing Serena so harmed, but while Helena breathes, Serena will never be safe."

Naild, who'd been silent this whole time finally spoke, "If this human seeks to aid my mother...let him do so. We must make the Glen safe for all again before she is brought back. How can I help? I will willingly go into the swamp to find these amulets and see this madwoman ended." There was a hard edge to his words, determination and power mingled together. The Naild of the other time was there trapped within his youthful body.

Niald's statement jolted Rebecca... her face ash pale, her brilliant sapphire-blue eyes, now tinted with gold around the irises, looked more worried than before. "Niald.. if you go to that swamp...don't think I won't drag you back out by your neck if you are hurt! I won't care what I have to do to accomplish that!" She added, only half joking, but mostly completely worried. To Alna, she replied, "I will help with the cauldron... but my vision needs to be on Serena... as well as those Artifacts in the swamp... I'd like to be able to focus on both."

Laurana smiled gently at Chastianna... "I think very soon, I'll bring out the book of our history and future... the one that literally writes itself and records all events. Once you realize how connected everything is, you'll begin to understand you are more capable than you let yourself believe." She added, knowing their book was upstairs in their room. She left it open on the vanity table most of the time... she looked at Morden.. "So can I call you Uncle Mordy?" She teased, trying to lighten the mood at least a fraction.

Gavin nodded at Morden and clearly saw the resemblances of him and Nathan... but how blocked was Nathan's memory? would he ever figure out how closely tied he was to Morden, Laurana, and Chastianna? He smiled at Rebecca. "I promise, sis, I'll look after Niald, especially.." He assured her, earning a small smile back.

Jasmine brought plenty of food in a large satchel slung over her shoulder, making sure her fellow guards did the same, as well as large cantines, filled to the brim of iced-water. It would be a difficult enough journey through the forest, possibly fighting crazed Fae-people, but their chances would be even smaller of succeeding if they ran out of supplies and starved! "Stay alert, everyone. We'll cover as much ground as we can before nightfall." They took off into the woods, not knowing what they might encounter.

Truthfully, Nathan only remembered serving in the army of the white fae; he couldn't possibly imagine that he had any living relatives. His father had died when he was young, and his mother...... simply left him. He'd been old enough to raise himself, so he lived alone for the remainder of his youth, learning to cook, bake, and other hobbies, had been his solace. He was very much a reader like Morden, though his magic had been blocked for most of his life. He was still re-learing all of it, and wasn't even aware he had another relative. Right next to him!

Alna nodded, "So would I," she said with resignation. "Second sight does not work that way. We can do more than one scry though and alternate between the two, but if we attempt to get two answers at once, we will get nothing." She lifted her hand to Rebecca's cheek, "Our gift is a blessing to be sure, but it has limits and if we are too aggressive both of us will become useless in our exhaustion. Have faith though. The sight is always seeking to help right wrongs and warn of dangers. We will be successful, but we must be careful as well."

Naild smiled at her, "I will keep that in mind, but allow me to hope that I will be successful in bringing back the means to keep my mother and all the fae in the Glen safe from Helena."

Morden smiled, "I will go with you, Son."

Caden held up a hand, "Sorry...noone is going anywhere until we know for sure the amulets are there, one. And two, we have a good idea where they are."

Chastianna nodded, "That's a good idea really. The Swamp is large, and very dangerous right now." She looked at Lauranna, "Help me learn...I will wear the crown forever if need be...that woman must be stopped."

Caden motioned for everyone to follow him and led them all into the armory. The map of the Glen was still there but he removed it and placed a blank parchment on the large table. "Can the two of you possible make a map of the Swamp?" he asked looking from Gavin to Chastianna. "With a map we can make better sense of anything Sovalna and Rebecca might see." He reached into a bin and pulled out a smaller map of the Glen and handed it to Alna, "This might help you interpret anything you see concerning Serena's location. It is quite detailed as Varen has been updating it for the last five years."

Alna took the map and nodded. "Perhaps we should bring my books and the cauldron here...." She looked at Nathan, "Would you mind if we did?"

Caden nodded, "I think for the time being we should all stay here. there's plenty of room for everyone and it will keep the lines of communication open and flowing freely...and keep us safe I hope as well."

Chastianna reached for a pen and began drawing what she remembered. The location of the palace, a few small dwellings, a few larger ones, the location of a few deadly plants and the area where a particularly deadly creature was most often seen. "Gavin....do you know of more?" she asked as she continued to add things as she recalled them. She needed to get this task done so she could focus on her magic and get that crown on. No one would be safe until she could wear it and keep Helena's magic contained.

Helena could feel powerful magic close to her location. She knew Morden was near and doubled her efforts to push her magic though any cracks she found in her cell. The weaker townsfolk had been very susceptible to her magical impulses but so too would creatures be. Jasmine and Varen would find the jungles and even the open areas to be far more treacherous because of the aggressiveness of the animals and insects there.

Varen and his men arrived at the forest's edge and were instantly attacked by swarms of locusts. "I should have packed insect repellent along with my bows," he said with an annoyed wave of his hand. "The three men were not as happy to endure the pain of the bites, since they didn't ahve Varen's thick hide, but they pushed forth and eventually left the locust's domain. They seemed thwarted at every turn though by either insects or predators and even squirrels. "For the love of Aura!' he cried, "This is ridiculous! Helena is working hard to keep us from success but she will learn....we are not so easily defeated." On the up side this was excellent training for the men in his group. They would be well seasoned and skilled by the time they returned. This pleased him greatly. But, he was worried about jasmine and her group. They were likely encountering the same thing. He could only hope that being further from Helena's location the effects of the magic would be lessened.

Aldin finally arrived at him home and rigged the carrier to his lifting system. He'd chosen to build his home far up in the canopy of the tallest trees for safety and because he loved the sun and the stars alike. Once he had her up in the house, he dragged the carried to a spare room he'd built in case he ever found anyone else. He untied her and as gently as he could, lifted her onto the bed and began ministering to her. He was glad she was not awake as he set the broken bones of her arm and splinted it with shafts of wood and wide bandages. He applied a cold compress to ehr head where it was bleeding to slow it and tied another wide bandage there to keep steady pressure there. She had so many injuries he was working for hours and hours to tend them all, but eventually he'd applied bandages and healing ointment to every single one even the smallest scratches. She'd lost a lot of blood and was very pale, which worried him. Had he been fast enough? he took her hand and lifted it to his lips, though he couldn't say why. He held it gently and whispered, "Fight....I have done all I can...now you must fight...."

"Yes, you're right, Alna... And alright Niald, but please,... be careful." Rebecca said, hating that she couldn't go with them! But she fought back her feelings, everything had to work out... she just needed to have more faith.

"It would certainly help.. Nathan, Alna, please bring in the Cauldron and anything you might need for it." Laurana said, her mind racing with thoughts and possible ideas.. .if Morden and Nathan were brothers... how could Nathan not see it ??? Perhaps he'd learn during their time in the swamp.... She didn't know, but he must have one hell of a magic-block against his memory.. Damn Helena....

Gavin knew every inch of the swamp, though surely he would have remembered seeing artifacts at one point- unless they were in that nasty swamp water.... He drew out more spots and safe routes to their swiftly drawn map, adding titles and places as he knew best. "I think...we might have a few caves to hide in- if only briefly from bad weather- and overwhelming monster groups..." He added those caves in detail, helping Chastianna draw.

Jasmine too, was battling the evil queen's influence.. swarms of wasps had attacked their group! But she used her fire and wind to destroy the bugs, and continued her swift pace through the forest, stopping often when she saw a trail of blood... she examined it closer... Serena's! Her heart ached, but she pressed onward... hoping to reach at least the center of the forest very soon. But it was more dense than she realized.

Serena eventually woke, to her arm throbbing in pain. Her head throbbed, as did the rest of her body. She ignored it, trying to focus on her surroundings. "Those people... are they gone...? Where ....where am I?.......Who am I???" Panic flared in her heart, almost making her forget her agony as she gazed upon simple, yet clean surroundings- a comfortable, large bed; and a man.... but no man she'd remembered seeing before...! She sat back against the pillows, trying to think...who was this man... holding her hand and telling her to fight? Fight for what? Did she have anything to keep going for...? All she remembered was an angry mob attacking her, then throwing her a dark hole..... everything else was blank!!

Morden listened, "I believe there is a scrying cauldron here...the seers have often resided in the palace in the past. But if you need personal things like books or spells or recipes...I cannot attest to that. But I can show you the room that was used..." he looked at the two, "if you'd care to follow me..."

Naild gave Rebecca a squeeze, "I am always careful. Have faith, I believe in you and your ability. relax and let it flow. I know it will work" He wasn't an overly optimistic sort of person but his faith in Rebecca was unwavering and intense. He wouldn't ever stop believing in her. He looked at Morden, still amazed that this man considered him a son when he was nobody important. It was even more overwhelming now that he kenw who Morden really was. His step-father was the queens uncle. And at one time he was the King's brother. So much prominence given up for the good of all of them, and yet he seemed to be apologizing for those actions. In his eyes they made Morden even greater. He could not imagine carrying around such burdens and secrets for the benefit of others.

Chastianna added more things as Gavin did, when his additions sparked more clear memory of an area. there was one area that neither of them had clear knowledge of and it was the area just west of the palace. "I'm not sure what's there, but it's got a different feel than the rest of the swamp. it's hot there, and an odd light can be sometimes seen. I never had a reason to go there...luckily..since it terrified me."

Alna nodded and followed Morden to this room. She'd never been invited to it and that made her wonder why. Was she not trusted by Aura? The room was far larger than she expected but it was warmer than the hallway just outside it. There was a large bookcase with three rows of books and two rows of things in labeled jars covering the far wall that had to be ten feet wide. Her eyes almost bugged out of her head at the volumes of books. She made her way quickly to the wall and began to lovingly run her index finger along the spines of the tomes. "I had no idea many of these still existed." her whispered almost reverent voice seemed to echo through the room. The cauldron was centrally located beneath a circular brick formation in the ceiling. "Nothing I have would compare to these...I think we will be fine here. Please tell Nathan not to bother gathering any of my things."

Morden watched her and smiled in spite of the dire circumstances they found themselves in. They'd had many differences over the years but he admired her, and seeing her so in awe of this space made him happy to have been able to show it to her. "I will tell him, and leave you to your work. Good luck...though I doubt it will be necessary. Your power is strong Sovalna, I trust my family to your gift."

Alna looked at him then, "Thank you for those words. We will do our best to find both your wife and the amulets."

He bowed slightly and left them, upon returning to the armory he saw the two still adding to their map. He went to Nathan, "Sovalna says she needs nothing from home and not to bother going. She is quite pleased with the materials in the scrying room."

Caden looked up, "That is good to know...I am glad we do not have to bring things here and use precious time in doing so." Chastianna spoke of a place that she'd been afraid of and that seemed hotter than the rest of the swamp. "that's interesting...no doubt that will be where they see the amulets...nothing is ever easy it seems. So it has been decided when it comes time to venture forth into the swap that Naild, Gavin and Morden will be going...perhaps you should as well Nathan. Experience in battle will be a good addition to magical ability...it is of course your choice entirely."

Aldin looked up when he heard her voice and gently used his free hand to hold her steady, "Shhh...you are safe...they are gone far in the opposite direction. They believed you dead, so it is unlikely they will return, but I would protect you even if they did." He watched her and could see the pain in her eyes. "I have doctored your wounds as best I could, but I could not treat your pain without first seeing you have food and water." He stood, "Please do not try to move, I will be right back." He left for a few moments and returned with water, and something in a bowl as well as a bottle of wine. "This will settle on your stomach softly and is very nutritious as well." He lifted a spoonful of the warm paste to her lips. "I think for the next few days it would be wise for you to try to stay still as much as possible. You have many injuries, but your head and arm were the worst of them." He waited for her to accept the food and then blinked, "Oh good heavens! Forgive my manners madam. I am Aldin Fairhaven. I am an archaeologist...a scientist who studies ancient civilizations. I'm sure that sounds boring but I love it. May I know your name?" he asked as he held another spoonful to her lips. he wanted her to eat a bit before he gave her any water or wine and he wanted her to finish the bowl before he gave her the laudanum.

Nathan was also glad that Alna and Rebecca could use the cauldron without trouble. He stood resolutely by her side, hoping she'd be safe enough here while he was in the swamps. The swamps had almost destroyed even Queen Lauranna when she brought everyone back with Caden's help... he knew the chances of all of them returning home safely were highly unlikely.... but he'd give it his best effort.

"Well we definitely will have to be more careful in those areas, Chastianna, but I think we'll manage." Gavin said, smiling. He didn't know if they'd be okay either, but he wanted her to at least, be calm, learn more of her magic, and help them rid everyone of that vile Helena!

Jasmine had remembered to provide her soldiers with plenty of supplies and food to last a few months. They were all taught fishing and hunting skills in the months of training by herself and Varen. They'd not let their men fail. As she progressed deeper into the woods however, she heard a faint buzz sound that gradually grew louder each step, until she halted them with a raised arm. "Wasps! Vile Helena is sending wasps after us. Get ready to duck, weapons will be of no use. " she warned, already getting her fire and wind elemental magic ready. As the black swarm of huge wasps descended upon the group, Jasmine unleashed a sphere of blue fire upon the beasts. They buzzed frantically for several moments until dissolving into ash. With her wind magic, she carried the dust of dead bugs far away from them, having not allowed a single soldier to be stung. A gentle rain fell next, and dried out any fire hazards. She let the air cool down, and turned to the men. "expect our journey to be like this...Helena doesn't want Serena to be found. Be on the lookout not just for bugs, crazed animals and possibly possessed people, but anything her dark magic can influence." she warned, before walking onwards, finally finding evidence of Serena's recent location when she saw a massive puddle of blood on the ground... "Serena... where are you...? How could those people do such things....?" She knealt down by the blood, close enough to touch the earth. She saw in her mind's eye, but the Earth telling her the violence that had taken place... and a confirmation that indeed, a young man had taken her away... towards the other side of the forest! So that's where they would go.~

Nathan was glad to hear this, and stood ready to leave for the Swamps. "Alna, I promise, the three of us will return quickly- as soon as we find the artifacts, you just keep seeking answers with the cauldron and don't worry about us." He told her, gently kissing her.

Serena was startled by how kind Aldin appeared to be... he'd already tended to the worst of her wounds, and the paste did smell good....so she ate a few small bites, then waited, taking a small, slow sip of wine... so far her stomach seemed settled, but she did know a little about concussions- if severe enough, could make people nauseated for a while, so she didn't want to risk it. "Oh... if I had a name... I would tell you... so I'm afraid it's I who has bad manners... I'm sure I have one... but... I remember nothing before the attack.....An archeologist.... someone who digs up fossils..yes?" She asked, managing a small smile... no need to mention how scared she was she couldn't remember anything! Surely her memories would fall back in place.... perhaps the more she healed from her wounds and when her body became stronger..? Something already seemed to tell her there was somewhere else she was desperately needed and loved... but she couldn't figure out where just then..~

Chastianna stood from the map and considered it closely, "I think that's all of it...don't you Gavin?"

Varen and his men found themselves in a fierce battle with not one, two or three, but seven of the large tree dwelling spiders that liked to attack by surprise from above. These were unusually large and aggressive. "Keep alert men, Getting them from below before they hit the ground is the safest way to battle them. Failing that, take out the legs one at a time until they are unable to move and then attack at the juncture of the head and thorax." he'd dealt with these creatures for the entire duration of his time in the Glen. They were not usually so overtly hostile, unless they were hungry. These seemed to be attacking just to attack. None of them were attempting to eat or cast a web to hold food for later. This was definitely magically induced. They kept moving, seeing so sign of blood or of a group having crashed through the jungle. At the end of the day he decided this was not the place to search. "We will head south tomorrow and join Jasmine's team and search there. It is obvious to me, that there is not evidence of a large group moving through these woods." If there had been, he thought they'd have been victim to the spiders for sure.

Alna led Rebecca to the wall of books. "You will be far better trained than I was with all of this at our disposal." she admitted, "She grabbed two books and handed one to Rebecca, "Look for powerful items that will tell specific locations. We need two of everything so we can ask for both the amulets and the whereabouts of Serena...If the item is powerful for finding locations it will have this compass looking symbol at the top of the page. The more symbols the stronger the item. I usually try to have 4 at least to be successful..." She began scouring her book for items and whistled when she found one with 5 symbols at the top of the page. She searched the two shelves and found only one of these. That was unfortunate, but still she placed it on the work space and then went back to the book.

Aldin watched her eat slowly and swallow carefully with approval. "That's good...take it slowly." She could not remember her name or anything before the attack. That wasn't terribly surprising, but why? Was her head concussed? Or was her mind creating this hysterical amnesia as a protection against another attack. did she feel unsafe there? Was her mind protecting her from a desire to return? In an effort to remove that worry from her brow he tipped his head and looked at her, "I think Oralie suits you well...it means golden one." He smiled a tender smile would you mind if I call you that until you remember something else. Saying hey you seems a bit rude..." His voice was soft though a rich tone, "don't try to rush memories. They will come when you are ready for them. Until then it will only add to your pain and though I do have something to help with that, I don't have an indefinite supply...and well." He let his golden brown gaze meet hers, "I very much dislike seeing you in pain."

Naild waited while the women did what they must to find the things they needed to end this whole thing. He was anxious to go and find the amulets but he saw the wisdom in being cautious as well. Seeing the rightness of the directives did not make it easier to endure the waiting, especially when he had no idea if his mother was alive or dead. He'd seen the people being cruel to his mother in the past, and even though this action had been fueled by Helena's evil influence their ill intent had already been there so he felt they were responsible for their deeds on some level. When this was all over he would see them brought before Caden and Lauranna to pay what is right in their eyes. He heard Chastianna speak and it cut through his dark thoughts. he looked at the map and made note of the major landmarks and areas of danger. It seemed to him there was a logical way to move through it, but the less time he had to spend there the better. he didn't want the queen to have to endure another dangerous rescue.

Morden looked at Caden and Lauranna, "There is also the matter of you two marrying. This probably seems like it may not be the time but you must unite officially as king and queen...and it must be before we all scatter. Royal magic is increased in power by the marriage bond. We will need that extra power to defeat Helena. And...it will protect your child's claim to the throne should we fail."

Chastianna looked at them, "We will not fail, but I know the truth of the marriage bond strengthening magic. Perhaps he is right in that regard...."

Caden looked at Lauranna, "We can do the large family wedding when this is all resolved...but we should do this now. What do you think??"

Alna's words made Rebecca smile. Once again she was seeking solitude and refuge in massive secret libraries... it felt good to even hold the books, while she sat comfortably, getting a highlighter for all the paragraphs and information she felt could be helpful. The young bookworm came right back, reminding her though she was young, there was always going to be research to do! It certainly helped calm her, and she would ask Alna any questions she had.

Snakes. Jasmine and her soldiers now battled long, colorful, obviously poisonous snakes as they tried to find their way out of the woods! They'd slithered from everywhere, yet hadn't been anywhere previously. "Don't let them bite you! One sting and you're dead!" She called out, gathering up more fire-power. She loosed many arrows, tipped with either fire or ice on the shafts; killing many of the snakes that way-- but there were so many! Hundreds! Would they be able to fight them all off? Or was their quest finished here? Not if she could help it! She refused to give into the natural terror of these horrible serpants, and set about casting waves of fire, or water, drowning, then burning the carcasses. It took at least two hours before she had all of the snakes brutally killed, then blown away with a wind charm.. "We should press on until nightfall... and then pray nothing happens in the dark." She sighed, accepting many of the soldiers' thanks in her swift skills.

Laurana heard Chastianna and Morden about the marriage, and nodded. "Yes. I've been ready a long time now... How should we set up the short ceremony? And of course I can wait for a big one, later on...." though privately she was okay with not even having a big ceremony... Too much was always going on... there'd never be a perfect day for a big wedding, but a small one was just fine.

Gavin finished the very last details of the swamp on their newly drawn map. He tilted his head slightly-- not bad handy work if there was time to say! He let Niald continue reading it, and sensed the lad's impatience rising... "You're good to be able to master impatience, Niald... We all want Serena found... but it seems Hellena is determined to do her best to see we stay out of the way... Caution is always a must." His eyes looked sad then. But he blinked and they were normal... ~

Nathan stayed by Alna's side, helping her and Rebecca with whatever supplies they needed to get the cauldron to answer their many questions.

"Oralie does have a pretty ring to it.... and ... I do remember being smashed in the back of my head with a huge rock... could you.... see if it is badly concussioned? I don't want to make sudden movements, or fall back asleep if it is..." She added, fearing the worst. Her head continuously throbbed in great agony... and she was sure that's part of why her memories weren't working so great. But she smiled as he mentioned the pain remedies..."Only use a little- I understand they probably take a lot of time to make.. I don't want them to have to be replenished so soon." She said, her eyes sparkling like green emeralds. She felt so very safe here.....she felt a good life could be had in this place... and anything to distract her from all her sorrows and fear... seemed very welcome just then. And Aldin... she could stare into his golden-brown eyes for a long while.... they reminded her of something.... or someone....... but she listened to his advice and promptly let the memories stop fighting to the surface... Later... everything would probably come back....

Alna watched Rebecca scour the volume she'd given the girl. She was going to learn quickly. Her questions were thoughtful and insightful and she answered her as clearly as she could. She found four more items and looked at Rebecca, "I think we can ask about the amulets with these five things..." She motioned to the things she had on the table. "Let me show you how to know what to add first and second..." She took time to explain that the most powerful items should be saved for last. Each item should be carefully added and stirred evenly as the next was added. "It's important to never let the water rest. Keep stirring." She handed her the large wooden paddle, "these paddles are specially made for this purpose..." she informed her."Try to keep an even motion..." Alna began adding things one a time and when that last powerful item was added she looked at Rebecca, "Focus on my words and then look with me into the cauldron." She nodded and then began to speak aloud though she generally did not do so, but she was teaching. "Ancient elders please help us now. Show us the location of the amulets of power that were abused and misused by evil forces....help us to right the wrong...Show us their location." She met Rebecca's gaze and then looked into the cauldron. At first there was nothing but a dark cloud, but then it turned to a ball of fire that lit a long but large cave opening and inside was a bright ball of sparkling green...or no...it was n EYE....the eye of a great dragon...it was emerald in color and by the look of the brightness of the fire a powerful one. The image faded and Alna blinked. "Not what I expected...we must hurry to the others...then we will return and seek Serena's location..." The two nearly ran to the others. Alna looked at the map, "Are any of these caves big enough for a dragon? The dragon protects the amulets. He is an emerald dragon of great power and he is...large." her eyes met those of the group. "I am sorry, this was not what I expected to see..."

Morden saw the look on Alna's face and waited. it was not going to be what they wanted to hear. "Dragons are reasonable creatures. We need a golden treasure to take with us. They like treasure."

Naild huffed, "they like to eat things too. But I think the gift is a good idea." For some odd reason though, he didn't feel panic or fear rising up within him.

Caden looked at Niald and saw the total calm in him and marveled. He must be thinking to save his mother, noble and brave. "What can we send?" he turned looking to Lauranna for an idea. She was better at this type of thing than he was.

Varen and his men moved south trying to get far away from Helena hoping to end their constant plagues of unnatural creature attacks. "We may not be resting this night, men," he said to them, "It is not safe to sleep with all this magical interference everywhere. Jasmine and her teama re not safe either. We must press on." The men nodded and shouted as one, "Onward!" Varen was proud of them...every one of them.

Aldin nodded, "That was a nasty wound to be sure, but I check for concussion in the eyes." he explained as he grabbed a flashlight and moved to hover over her. He let the light shine just to the side of her eyes and then quickly moved it across them. She watched to see if they were even and responsive and then leaned back. I think luck is on your side with that. No concussion as far as I can tell. it's good since you have so much to heal, your body will be busy without adding that into the mix." He lifted another spoon of food to her lips, "You need fuel to do that though. Let's see if we can get this all down. it's not much but it's hearty." He was an archaeologist but he had a lot of survival knowledge as part of his personal base to keep himself safe in the wild environs his work took him into and at this very moment he was extremely glad of it. "Once all this is down I'll give you some of the laudanum I have. I can't make it here, but I'm glad to share it with you."

Rebecca stirred the cauldron as fast as her arms would allow, though it was harder for her smaller frame, she kept up as best she could, and watched the dragon rise out of the bubbling water.... A dragon! A beautiful, yet deadly looking creature to be sure.. As soon as she saw it however, something told her not to be afraid... that there was a connection waiting to happen! She smiled then, especially at how unafraid Niald was being. "I didn't expect this either, Alna.. but I think... it's not an evil creature...." She thought a moment as they hurried over to the throne room... "I think there are darker dragons .. . black and red especially that are the most dangerous... but I don't know how I know... " Rebecca added.

"Treasure... hm... I think I can just make plenty of gold things appear and keep the dragon happy..." Laurana mused, then did just that, creating a black pouch full of gold coins, and beautiful, shimmering gemstones of all colors and types, to be worn around Niald's waist with a secure leather thong. "Here Niald, you'll present this to the dragon and see what it does.... if hostility arises... don't let it get agitated or attack you three. Alright?" She cautioned.

Bears. Wolves, lynxes, and a few angry homicidal raccoons were all slaughtered on their journey. Helena was certainly having too much fun at their expense and had an unlimited well of dark energy it seemed... would the woman never rest!? She almost cursed alloud and tried to think of any place that might be safe to camp out during the night for when it eventually got darker! Jasmine was certainly in a bleak mood, but continued pressing onward, occasionally touching a tree, to get more information... She felt they were at least on the right path.

Oralie was puzzled, but relieved- she could have sworn there'd been such a blow to the head that how could she not have a concussion? Could trauma really cause her to lose her memories just in the blink of an eye? She ate all of the food he gave her, and drank wine to ease her hoarse, dry throat.. It did help a lot, food and drink.. she hadn't realized she was even hungry until just then. "I want to thank you... anyone else.... especially the Fae-people... would have left me for dead... I don't know if I had friends at all back there... I'm guessing not... but....I do appreciate your kindness, for me, I know this much--- experiencing a friendly nature of others is very rare... " She paused, not wanting to embarrass him or make him uncomfortable.. "What's Laudanum...? Is it a liquid?" She was curious about medicines and herbs.. .that part was still strong.

Alna tipped her head, "I would think there is a book about it on our shelves," she said of the different dragons. "It did not seem evil...odd considering where it is." She too noticed Naild's calm demeanor about the whole thing. He was either very foolish or very brave.

Morden smirked a bit, "We can hope you are right and maybe we should search the dragon books while you work." he gently urged.

Alna nodded, "We will ask about Serena now...." She moved back to the room and the books once more. They soon had 5 more powerful ingredients and she took the paddle that time. "I will stir and you can add the items. Remember least powerful first." She was used to keeping a gentle swirl of water moving even with one hand, but it was nice to have help. She watched closely as Rebecca worked. "You are doing well. A quick learner..."

Naild followed them, finding the book of dragons easily and left with it so they would not be interrupted. He studied the book and wondered why all of it seemed oddly familiar to him. "The greens hold an earth affinity and are generally known to be protectors. That is a good thing I think. If they have affinity for the earth the gems in the pouch will be particularly pleasing to him." Somehow he knew it was a male.

Caden smiled, "Good...are you ready then to look for him?"

Chastianna pointed to the less detailed area of the map. "If there is a dragon..he's got to her in here. It would explain why it always feels warmer there and the eerie glow at night." She looked at the four men, "Please be careful..." her eyes fell on gavin as she spoke the words even though she mentioned all of them.

Morden nodded, "The sooner we go, the sooner we can return and finish out task. First things first though." He moved to stand between caden and lauranna. "As a member of the Royal family I can oversee your marriage. Join hands please. Waiting for them to do so he nodded, "We are gather here with our family to witness and attest to the love of Lauranna and Caden and their wish to be united in marriage. Do you caden accept this woman as your mate, your completeness in body soul and mind til death do you part?"

Caden smiled as he lifted her tiny hands to his lips, "Oh I surely do."

Morden then looked at Lauranna, "Do you Lauranna accept this man as your mate, your completeness in body, soul and mind til death do you part?"

Varen and his men were making fast progress since they'd turned south. There was a large open area that was rocky and full of desert plants and very little life that could attack them. They could hear the animals all about them again once they entered the forests of the south. They kept moving and he saw the wide path of crushed vegetation that was left by the hoard that had attacked and ultimately left Serena in the forest. "Here is the correct trail...we are on the right track men. It was growing dark and he knew it would not be safe to stop in the forest. They pressed on following the path. It wasn't long before the met Jasmine and her men. "There you are... " he said relieved. "How fare you?" his eyes looking her over carefully for injury. His worry was plain to see even if he didn't verbalize it, which he wasn't about to do in front of the men.

Aldin listened and shook his head, "I cannot believe you have no friends Oralie...such a thing is simply not possible. There MUST be at least one intelligent male among those what did you call them? Fae? Someone who could see that you are sweet and beyond beautiful." His head shook again, "Surely they are not all blind fools. And...it could be possible you have a family...maybe even children..." She wanted to thank him and he shrugged, "Anyone who saw the cruelty of those people would have been quick to help you. I am only glad I happened to be gathering berries and saw them. When you have healed a bit I am sure you will remember everything. There is no rush...you are safe here and welcome to stay as long as you like. in truth...you are only the second person I have met since arriving here five years ago. I met an orc named Mirq and he has graciously been trading sharpened tools for berries and healing ointment." he shrugged a bit, "I was separated from my group and I was expecting at least one of them to come looking for me...but that has not happened. They must believe me dead by now..."

Rebecca smiled at Alna's praise as she dropped the items in the right order, as the cauldron brought forth more visions. She was also curious as how Niald could be so calm! If it were her going after a dragon, she would prefer to simply avoid it! "I have a good teacher." She told Alna honestly, grateful for all the help she'd been given.

Laurana blushed red, but agreed it was a perfect time to marry. She held Caden's hands in her small, thin-boned ones. She held tightly as Morden said the words over them. And when Morden asked if she accepted Caden... there was no hesitation. The world fell away and it was just the two of them for a moment, and a strange, almost glowing warmth beginning to bloom between them. "I do, with everything I have." She replied, fighting back tears.

Jasmine whirled around, she'd earned a few scratches, a long one down her arm, but nothing too serious. The soldiers were in perfect condition, she'd just been a little battle-careless in dealing with the forest-animals. "Could be better Varen... but I know at least now, Serena is out of the forest... after that the trail is almost only two foot prints..... Are you alright?" She studied him, so glad to see him with her again, but she also had a role to play, and couldn't embarrass either of them!

Oralie patted Aldin's hand gently. "I don't know if I have a family... if I did...they might search for me...and then.. they might not...." She shrugged helplessly.. "I think.... I was gathering something as well.. I can't remember... something with plants and...herbs?" She shook her head, images trying to push at her, but only making the pain in her head worse until she blocked them. " you say you were separated from your group... Where are you from...? Is there no way for them to find you at all?" She found herself liking this man, a lot, and wanted to know more about him... Talking about other things made the pain seem forgettable, though now and then her broken arm would throb, or her back stung... had she been hurt there as well? She ignored it, deciding not to focus on the seriousness of her condition and wanting to help Aldin if she could. He shouldn't share her lonely fate if he didn't have to...!

Alna waited until the last item was in the cauldron and then began to speak, "Ancient guardians of the Glen...please help us find our dear friend. help up right this wrong...this treachery is vile and I know you hate that. Protect her please..and show us where to find her. Please help us se if she is safe...please help us." There was an urgency and pleading to her voice that the other request did not have, a heartbreaking sorrow that was absent before as well. The cauldron was dark for a bit and then Serena's image floated on the water. She was being fed and cared for and then another image swirled of the place she was being aided, and it was a nicely made grass and bamboo house. the cauldron went dark and another image of Varen and Jasmine was seen as they neared the hole where Serena had been thrown and then the cauldron went black. Alna let out a breath she'd been holding. "She is safe...thank the ancients...whoever is caring for her is doing a good job...I would never have believed it of a human. That wasn't much help...but it seems Varen and Jasmine are on the right trail..." She looked at Rebecca "Sometimes we are only encouraged and not given all. At least we know she is safe, being well cared for and that our people are not far away."

Morden nodded, "Then by the power vested in me as a member of the Royal family I now pronounce you husband and wife, king and queen over the Glen of the Fae and any who choose to reside within its embrace. You may now kiss your wife, mt king."

Caden grinned and swooped in for a gallant bent back kiss that poured every bit of love and joy he was feeling into her. He lifted her up slowly and pulled her close for a lingering slow end to their kiss. His lips were barely separated from her when he whispered, "I love you."

Varen bandaged her arm as she spoke, "So this is the pit they spoke of?" he said looking into it. Like Naild he intended to see this brought to justice, magically influenced or not, this was not the kind of thing that should be allowed in the Glen. "I see the path there...he was dragging her on a cot of sorts...clever human..." He looked at all the men, "With the animals being turned ferally aggressive...we much press onward. Sleeping is not safe.." He looked at jasmine, "You can lead the way and I will bring up the rear...be watchful..."

He heard her words and shook his head, "if you have a family they will search until hell freezes over..I have no doubt at all." he didn't want her to leave, but he also didn't want to keep her from a family that missed her...or did he? Their negligence had caused this. How could they not know she was in danger. She patted his hand and he covered hers with his reflexively. "Were you gathering herbs for cooking or for medicine, I wonder?" he asked and then saw that pain in her eyes and rubbed her hand gently, "Sorry...I am too curious by nature. It comes along with the occupation." She asked her question and he was touched by her concern for his welfare. "I have no idea how I got here, I kind of fell through a rock wall, but when I go back to the place I cannot leave in the same way. I am fine though Sweet Oralie. I am content here. Do not worry for me."

Rebecca nodded. "I am learning to accept this, and that visions can't be pushed too hard. I am grateful for whoever is taking care of Serena and I know Niald and Morden are too... I hope she is found soon so she can get healed properly and try to put this terrible incident behind her... no one should suffer such ostracism and hate from an entire group like that..." She added, having been pretty much a social pariah in the past alongside her own mother.

Lauranna swooned as Caden kissed her with such passion! She almost tugged him back upstairs to their room for a long day of love-making... but restrained herself, with as much composure as she could muster through that kiss, which she gladly returned! She held onto his shoulders as he dipped her towards the ground, being a show-off! She laughed when he pulled her back up.. "Jeez Caden.. I love you too..but you keep that up and I won't be able to focus on the rest of the day.." She teased, smoothing back her hair, and pale blue gown. She hadn't anticipated a marriage... but now that they were, it did feel different! The two of their magic cores seemed to hum and radiate, gravitating towards eachother like well.. magnets! They were unaware of the fact both of them were now glowing silver and gold..

Gavin smiled at the brief, happy wedding, glad they'd finally been able to tie the knot.. though when he first met them, he had assumed they were married! He wondered if he'd ever find someone to marry.. much as he liked Chastianna however, she was a royal and he was a peasant, therefore unworthy of such a thing. He'd probably grow old and alone, but it was probably a card he had to be dealt.~

Jasmine thanked Varen for bandaging her injured arm. "Yes.... the earth where her blood was spilled... it showed me how violently she was tortured before that man found her..." She shook her head,... "Even though they were all possessed at the time... I don't want anything like this to happen again.." She said, sorrow in her voice more than anger. "I will definitely be watchful, and why not walk with me? We can discuss what's happened so far." She offered, having missed his company.

Oralie smiled at the question.. "It feels like... I used to gather quite a lot of different herbs and medicinal things.... I was strangely connected to plant life... I don't know if I can still remember anything of that nature.. I'd like to... maybe then I can help restock your medicine supplies." She offered. As for a family... she felt strongly as if she did have one.. and that at least two people would search hell and high waters for her... but as for that idea... she didn't want to entertain the notion that she was someone cherished. Not if she was a bad person to have encouraged so much hatred in the past...Had she done something abominable in society's eyes? Was she a poor, homeless woman? She didn't have a clue and it was so frustrating she could have screamed. But she kept her calm, trying to take one baby-step at a time.. She would heal... but so slowly... the pain would no doubt become excruciating... but an inner instinct also told her she was used to agony...and it was nice to know she was no longer alone. Had she been left in that hole... there wasn't much doubt in her mind she would have bled to death or something else would have happened! How fortunate she was to have met Aldin.

Alna nodded, "Pushing our sight is never wise. It brings pain and confusion usually. I've learned this the hard way. But there are times when it will push you...in those times you must listen and be alert. In those times there is grave danger. Again I have learn this the hard way. You will benefit from my experiences...unlike you I had no one to direct or aid me. I am glad to finally be able to pass along what I have learned." She sighed and nodded. She too understood being a pariah. She had always been feared and ignored, except by Caden and Morden and Nathan. Most people have given her a very wide berth. "I agree...there should not be such hatred and violence within the Glen. Our numbers are so low right now, we cannot afford to lose one member of our society."

Caden wiggled his brows at her but stepped aside after kissing the tip of her nose, "Hold that thought for later, " he winked and then turned to the others.

Chastianna looked at them, smiling brightly at the happiness she felt rolling off of them in waves, "Wow you are glowing with happiness!"

Caden lifted a brow, and looked down seeing the gold light shining, "Interesting...is that normal Morden?"

Morden had only ever seen this once, "Sometimes," he said cryptically. Aura and Lars had been so, but this only happened when opposite cores united.

Deep within the darkness from her cell Helena could feel the joined cores of a white and a dark. Her growl of outrage filled the cell ad echoed through her magic.

Caden felt the ripple very clearly and without thinking his fist clenched high in the air and Helena would see her air hot and tight in her throat for a second. His hand dropped and he tipped his head. Odd. He looked over as Alna and Rebecca returned to join them. "Any news?"

Alna nodded, "We have seen Serena being fed and cared for in a comfortable home of bamboo. We also saw that Varen and Jasmine are nearby...but we cannot say for certain how near they are. But she is in good hands it seems."

Morden was glad of it but there was fear building in his mind and heart. Would she return? Would she ever feel safe here again? Would she ever believe he could keep her safe? He looked at Caden then, "We should get those amulets..." He needed to keep himself busy or he'd be frantic.

Naild nodded in agreement, "We should..." He grabbed an array of weapons and added some food to his pack. "I'm ready."

Morden followed suit, adding armor to his street clothes. Urging Naild to do likewise, and the other two as well. Once they were all outfitted with armor and provision and weapons they stood before Caden, "We are ready. We will not fail you."

Caden nodded, "I never thought you would. His hand reached for Lauranna's and he used their combined strength to send the group to the area near the palace where the cave would be seen in the distance. They disappeared and he gave her hand a squeeze. "Now...we need to help Chastianna learn to use her magic...and wield the crown of tenebrous."

Chastianna watched them ready themselves and her anxiety grew. She wanted to keep them all safe. her hands were glowing but she had no outlet for the magic. By the time they had gone she was literally vibrating with built up magically energy. "Lauranna....what is happening...help me..."

Varen reached down into the hole where they'd cast Serena and pulled up some fabric and a few other things. Time would tell if they were from Serena, the man who saved her or the crowd. He wasn't going to leave anything behind though. He'd already gather scraps of fabric from branched and tree trunks. "I completely agree. I have been gathering what I can to help identify the members of the crowd, and I am hoping that the seers will be able to identify them." She wanted him to walk with her and he looked at the men, "Can you bring up the rear?" They nodded and he motioned for her to lead on, "I will welcome the opportunity to hear what you have discovered." He missed her as well and knowing she was in danger so far from him had been the hardest thing he'd endured in a very long time.

Aldin smiled, "I have plenty and for now you can concentrate on healing." He lifted the almost empty bowl of porridge and fed it to her. "You asked about the laudanum...it is a drug I brought with me from the other place. I'm not sure exactly what it is, or I'd be able to make more. I've found a few plants here that have a similar numbing effect...so I will use those to make something of my own concoction to use once this is gone. This I know will help you. It will take the edge off the pain and help your bone heal too I believe." She had an affinity to pants and nature, "nature is fascinating. It gives and gives and is still beautiful. One of the great wonders of life." She finished the food and he offered her more wine and water. He opened the bottle of Laudanum. and poured a little into a small cup and lifted that to her lips. "It does not taste very well..I'm sorry. But it will help. I promise."

Lauranas happiness was complete. She had a perfect life here at the palace, which had been far more perfect than the one on Earth. She had friends, family and purpose that surprised even herself. Laurana noticed Chastianna panic and lead her over to her side. "It's okay, Chastianna. I know how scary magic can seem at first. But I promise it'll be fine. Take several deep breaths, calm your mind, let it flow naturally like a waterfall... Everything will become clearer, more focused when you accept this power. Only the royal family has it, which is more proof you are my sister. ...ill help you learn everything." She assured the terrified girl. Her glowing aura soon surrounded Chastianna, calming her down and letting her understand her magic was only attempting to help.

Gavin took hold of Chastianna hand gently, protectively. He didn't understand it, but very suddenly, his own magic seemed to intensify, not all at once like hers.... But bits and pieces like flashing lightning during a tornado. He pushed it back, telling the power to wait, he wasn't letting it give him a breakdown..... There wasn't time for that.

Jasmine smiled at varen as he bandaged her gash tightly. "Thank you. I hope to bring all those awful people to justice soon...because Serena deserves a safe, hate-free place to live." She added, knowing a lot about prejudice and how far people would go to exclude others. They continued on a brisk pace, and she knew it would be a long night- but still, she was glad Varen was here, it made things go much faster.

Oralie winced a bit as she eyed the Laudanum...It did look as if it had a bad taste....but, she would drink it down. Anything to keep the pain away so she could heal. Bracing herself, she drank the glass down and then fought the urge not to be sick.. She held her face against her knees, shuddering as it went through her system.... The taste was overpowering- like mushrooms in an ancient forest...or something worse... indescribably nasty...."Can I drink wine right now? I may be sick if I don't...I'm sorry.." She added, not wanting to insult the medicine he was helping her with!
