Ever had more or less the same dream keep happening to you so often that it eventually becomes ingrained in your memory and you can't forget it? I have one.

Ever since i was six i've had a recurrong dream, more a nightmare than anything, that has been with me to this day. This dream in question is always the same.

I would wake up in the middle of an ice cold lake, underwater. Cold and immobile due to lack of strength or whatever to fight against the icey surface before a siren mermaid like creature swims up from the depths, and unleashes an ungodly horrid screech. It would immediately then rip my face apart with horrendous sharp fingernails after it finished screeching, and i'd wake up.

My family and i refer to this recurring nightmare as The Ice Siren now. Anyone else have a recurring dream/nightmare?

Well, I tend not to have any dreams, to be honest, or rather I don't remember them usually. When I do remember them they're usually something crazy, wacky and out of this world or extremely nightmarish, the kind that sticks with you for days or weeks even.

One dream I remember having more than once is of me drowning (Ironically the first time it happened, I almost drowned later that day). It comes and goes and it's probably why I don't really go swimming to be honest. I'm not terrified or scared because of it, I just would rather not. Swimming has lost its lustre for me for the time being :"D

One GOOD dream I have a lot is of me in some weird, magical world where I can eat skittles all I want, don't have to go to work or school or ever stress again. Just me, my favorite candy EVER, and the freedom to do whatever I want xD pretty basic but it does the trick for me!

Freaky. I have a recurring dream occasionally where I'm in a dark forest full of fireflies while someone babbles nonsense in the background. It's not creepy, just kind of surreal. I seem to dream about it more often when I'm sleep deprived or really cold.

It's a shame I've never actually seen fireflies in real life.

While it's not a very specific recurring dream, I've been dreaming a lot about taking public transportation lately, specifically trains.

I have had reoccurring nightmares.

Not the same dream, mind you, but I die in each.

And all from a shot to the chest, and very vivid.

Also, I am pretty sure my avatar is a reoccurring nightmare.

An unseen force pushing me down. Feels like gravity. I had one dream I was in my old house in my brother's bedroom. I was standing and it eroded my will into the ground.

The part that really bothered me is that after waking up there was always a clicking coming from somewhere in the room. Not the keyboard or mouse clicking kind. Just something...more eerie.

Reoccurring dreams were much more prevalent during my school years.

I had one particular scary one about a werewolf breaking into my house. There was a very prevalent picture of Jesus in it, kneeling to Polaris. I expect it's from all the funeral services I attended as a child. The werewolf I think is from my initial fear of the Thriller music video.

Another one is my dolls dream. I'm in the living room watching TV when sudden the walls turn into dolls and the floor drops out so I'm falling through this creepy tunnel of dolls. I have a irrational fear of dolls caused by various traumatic instances in my past involving them so I'm not surprised that my brain would come up with that scenario.

On a more humorous note, I used to have nightmares about John Wayne chasing me with a shotgun. I watched quite a few westerns when I was small.

I haven't had any lately, but there was a point in time where I had the same dream every night for like two weeks and I was (quite frankly) actually a little concerned that it was some sort of omen.

It was a somewhat long dream with an actual story to it but it went the same every night and at the end, I always died just before waking up. Even though it was a few years ago, I can still remember it pretty vividly. The most unnerving part was the very real feeling of wonder (involving scenery) and regret/sorrow as I died and I'd wake up with those weird lingering feelings.

I rarely remember my dreams, but even though my apartment didn't flood in Harvey I remember having several dreams where I'm standing out on the sidewalk at night, in a break between rains, looking out at the water filling the parking lot and wondering what I'm going to do if the water rises further. What do I start pulling away from the doors first, how do I stack stuff on the table, do I trust the bookshelves to survive.

So I've had this really messed up reoccurring dream. Where it's myself and a group of friends. The friends change depending but it's one of those things where you know they're there but can't really see them or their face. Anyways, somehow there's this serial killer/ghost man that's chasing us. We plan to stick together but one by one we get picked off. It's always the same order and always the same death for that person. Then we all hide in this house but the ghost killer man is in there. We try to run up the stairs but he's at the top. Once we turn to go down he's there and there's no escape. I always wake up before he gets me though.

I feel like it's a manifestation of my anxiety but like brain.....WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK

I don't have recurring dreams so much as recurring places in my dreams. My dream self also seems to be aware of the fact that they're recurring. Specific grocery stores, places at my apartment that don't actually exist IRL (a big central room that has a big ole tree with a pond around it, and the tree is always full of cool mushrooms, because I'm a huge nerd apparently; also like a communal basement area that's full of cool people that don't actually exist in my apartment complex that has like pool tables and vending machines full of cool stuff), forests, that kind of thing. There's tons of them, but of course when asked to recall them I can't think of much, haha.

I dream frequently of a super awesome mall, though. I mean, not-so-awesome things happen there often, but the mall itself is cool. Wish it existed irl.

As a kid I used to have recurring dreams. I suppose it was my subconscious trying to talk to me because all of them have come true in one way or another.

Nowadays I dream the same dream in different settings. The last time it was a Asian pirate ship and now I wanna write about pirates. XD

TSUNAMIS.

I live in a country where they’re geographically impossible to happen, but for some reason they always pop up in my dreams when there’s a lake or ocean. Why???

Those are one of my many irrational fears D:
I am so sorry you have to dream about those

There are three recurring dreams that I usually have.

1. Being in a library/book store and searching for a book I know exists and have read before... but never being able to find it. And if I do find it, it's always horrible changed.
2. Being in a car/van that's out of control. Had one of those dreams just yesterday. This is probably due to my fear of being in a vehicle.
3. Being chased and locking a door behind me... only to test the door and find out the locks don't work. T_T

So imagine a llama....but with an ostrich head, neck, and legs. This MONSTROSITY comes into my room and licks the inside of my ear before trying to bite my face.
