Welcome to Hamilton High

"We are going back home, Mariana," Her mother's stern words echoed in her mind. Home? This was home. New York had been home for years and now her mother wanted to whisk them back to Hamilton Village? Bullshit, Mariana thought to herself. Her mother was forcing her to throw away her dreams of college simply because she couldn't stand being apart from her.

For weeks Mariana had begged her mother, Rosalina, to let her stay with Grandfather Felix, but time and time again her mother denied her. Years of hard work just poured down the drain for selfish reasons. Mariana swore never to forgive her mother for uprooting her once again.

Placing the last of her clothes into a suitcase, Mariana looked around at the room that once belonged to her. This apartment had been the command center of many sleepovers, after parties, and even her birthdays. Mariana understood that her mother could no longer afford it given her recent job status, but Mariana still felt like memories were just being thrown away for a free house.

A month or so ago, Rosalina had received a call informing her of the passing of her own mother. After a time of grieving, her mother's attorney informed her about her mother's last testimony and will. It had shocked Rosalina that they were left an entire house, one much larger than their current home. Of course, she would have accepted the offer instead of selling the estate.

At first, Mariana was excited to be moving into a new home where she would have her own room, but then things changed. Her mother had sped the process up by quitting her job. Mariana had become furious! She was still attending summer camps for soccer and volleyball, but now the thousand dollars she had saved and spent was gone. Luckily, Mariana had contacted the Hamilton High girls soccer coach and he agreed to let Mariana try-out since one of his team members had just passed away. It was lucky for Mariana, but not the girl that died.

Zipping up the suitcase after stuffing it full of her clothing, Mariana grabbed it and exited the apartment. Her mother and sister had been down at the moving truck, packing it full of their last minute packages. Mariana went ahead and threw her suitcase in the back of the truck before the door had been slid closed and locked.

"Mari, please lose the attitude," Rosalina had stated.

Looking at her mother, Mariana rolled her eyes and placed a pair of headphones in. Taking her phone out and selecting Bloodstream by Ed Sheeran, Mariana was prepared for the long, silent, ride to Hamilton Village with her music up high.

Driving over 1 thousand miles from upstate New York almost to Hamilton Village, Rhode Island, Mariana ignored her family for most of the way. That was until her mother reached back and ripped her headphones out.

"Hey!" Mariana had exclaimed. She hadn't expected the attack and was rather pissed that it had occurred. "What the hell, mom," Mariana's voice was lathered with irritation.

Mariana watched as her mother looked into the rearview mirror of her 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. "Watch the language," her mother warned before pulling into a rest stop. "If you need to go to the bathroom, now is the time to do it," she said, "no more stops after this," she added as she herself unbuckled her seatbelt and got out the car.

Mariana glared at the woman as she walked away and looked at her sister, "I don't get why you're so happy to be moving back to Hamilton…" Mariana mumbled just loud enough for her sister to hear. Iz had everything made for her in New York. She was the trendsetter of the year at their now old school and far more popular than any other kid. From all the Twitter posts her sister had, Mariana would've bet that Iz would be just as angry as she was, but that wasn't the case and Mariana didn't understand why.

Izabelle turned around in her seat, casting a cold stare at her sister. "Oh, I'm angry. She took us away from all the New York hotties, my many job opportunities and the gorgeous New York Winters," Iz rolled her eyes as she spoke through gritted teeth before placing a clearly fake smile on her face. Mariana could feel the temperature in the Jeep decrease. She began to shiver slightly. "But I'm just trying to look at the positive side of things, like," Iz trailed off into a deep thought, "Oh shoot that's right, fucking nothing!" She snapped.

"Well, Iz," Mariana said sitting forward, "you're for sure getting an acting career one day," she stated. For weeks, Mariana had been under the impression that Iz was fine with the move and in fact, welcomed it. Reaching forward, Mariana turned the heater on. "Did you notice that it just got really cold in here?" She questioned as she noticed her mother was coming back from the bathroom.

As Rosalina got into the car, she looked at her two daughters and adjusted the heater back to off, "not cold enough for that, dears," she said before driving off from the rest stop.

Mariana, her teeth chattering, muttered "whatever," and set back in her seat. Placing the two earbuds back into her ears, Mariana relaxed for the rest of the way to Hamilton Village.

Hours had passed and Mariana had awakened to the Jeep pulling up in front of a Spanish style home. Yawning as she rubbed her eyes, Mariana looked out the window. "Holy sh--" She almost said before feeling the glare of her mother's eyes. The place was huge.

Ivory vines climbed up the sides of the house, the gate was an impressive iron design that stood far above Mariana. Staring at the marvel before her she wondered just how many bedrooms were inside. "I call first pick of the rooms," Mariana declared before moving to unload the Jeep. As the teen grabbed a box out of the back of the Jeep, she noticed something out of the corner of her eye. Something in the top window of the house. Looking up she swore someone was standing in the window, but she couldn't quite tell. Squinting, Mariana realized that nothing was there. Strange, she thought.

It didn't take long for the movers to arrive with the remainder of the belongings. Mariana, having already entered the house, ran upstairs and started searching for the best room available. Coming across the room that she had thought she saw someone standing in, she looked around. It was rather big and had a view of the street out front. Approaching the window, she placed her hand on the glass. As she did so, she felt a hand on her shoulder. Letting out a scream, Mariana turned around to see Iz standing there laughing.

"Screw you," Mariana said. Hitting her sister in the arm, Mariana started to chuckle herself. "You scared the hell out of me!" She exclaimed with a smile on her face.

Looking around the room, Mariana relaxed. "I think I picked my room," she announced. It was big, had a nice size closet, and even had a good view of the front yard and the neighbor's house. "What about you?" She asked. Her sister had chosen an equally great room that showed the fountain in the backyard. Mariana had to admit she was jealous of the view, but the closet space Mari had gotten was to die for.

As the twins stood in the room, Mariana's phone rang out with an alert. Pulling the iPhone 8 out of her pocket, she read over the notification. Groaning, she looked at Izabelle. "School starts tomorrow…" Mariana let out a sigh and returned her phone to her pocket. This sucked balls!

~~~~~~~
The morning had come rather quickly. Mariana had unpacked most of her room, but there still were boxes sitting in the corner waiting for her to unpack them. Waking up to the sound of her alarm, Mariana let out a loud scream into her pillow. Summer was officially over.
Hearing a knock at the door, Mariana looked up from her bed. "Come in," she called out. Just as she thought it was Iz, in came her mother of all people wanting to talk. "Mom, could we do it some other time," Mariana said getting out of bed, "I need to get ready." Leaving the room, she left her mother speechless.
As she walked down the hallway towards the bathroom, she saw Iz exit the room. "Any hot water left?" She questioned. Iz nodded and walked towards her room. Entering the bathroom, Mariana shivered. You're the only person I know that enjoys cold showers, she thought.
It didn't take long for Mariana to shower, but it did take her some time to do her hair and makeup.
Wearing a pair of white jeans and matching Adidas, she paired a striped crop top and a grey cardigan with it. Grabbing her usual all black backpack, she left for the Jeep.
Iz had been waiting by the Jeep for her twin sister, but where was their mother? Both girls had their licenses, but their mother never allowed them to drive her Jeep anywhere.
"Where is mom?" Mari questioned, looking back at the house. Still, no one exited the building. "Are we seriously going to be late to the first day of school?" Mari exclaimed.
Just then, a blue colored Mini Cooper had pulled up to the house. Mari watched as her mother had jumped out in surprise, not understanding where the car had come from or the money to get it.
Rosalina easily saw her daughter's face and started to explain. "I didn't buy a car," she stated, as she walked over to Mari. "It was your grandmother's and I just went and picked it up from the shop," she mentioned. Looking to Iz, she handed her the keys. "Your grandmother left you the car, Izabelle," she stated.
Before she heard how unfair it was that Mari was left nothing from her grandmother, she held out a second pair of keys. "Your car is in the garage…" she noted.
Mari looked confused. Her grandmother only had one car, didn't she?
Walking to the garage with her mother, inside set a 2012 Rav4. Mari screamed in excitement. "Your grandmother left the bigger one to you since you do a lot more sports than your sister," she said, shooting Iz a look of slight disappointment. Rosalina thought that Izabelle could always use some more exercise, but she never did more than one half-hour of yoga or vigorous walking. "You know, to haul around your bike, surfboard, snowboard, that sort of thing," Rosalina explained.
Mari stopped and looked at her mother, "what's the catch?" she questioned. There was always something that was being held from them.
Rosalina sighed. "You have to get jobs," she informed them. The twin's mother couldn't afford the insurance for two teenagers, she couldn't even afford this house if it wasn't for her mother leaving it for her with no charge. The cars were currently covered for another three weeks, but after that, it was up to the twins to fend for themselves. "Bright side is… we can look for jobs together!"
Mari rolled her eyes and walked out to the mini cooper. "Let's go, Iz, we're going to be late if we don't."
It was a short drive to school as Hamilton Village wasn't the largest of towns, it seemed to take longer finding a parking spot than anything else. Sitting in the car staring at the building, Mari sighed. New year, new school. If there was one thing that Mari hated it was being the new girl.
"It's now or never," she heard Iz say.
"I pick never," Mari informed her twin. She then heard Iz laugh and open her car door. Mari did the same.
As the two reached the front doors, Mari felt a strange presence. A man staring at her by the front door wasn't moving, wasn't saying anything. The closer Mari had gotten to the front doors the weirder the man became. He had a dim glow around him that Mari didn't understand where it was coming from. As a student passed in front of him blocking Mari's view of him, Mari noticed him disappear. What the? Mari thought. Blaming the event on nerves, Mari walked inside the school.
The two walked down the long main hallway, passing a group of friends that looked familiar. Mari glanced at the group when she noticed that all of them were staring at the two girls. "Creepy much?" Mari whispered to her sister.
The two girls had no trouble finding their lockers, what Mari had trouble with was opening hers. A sticky note had been posted on the locker stating that it loved to get stuck! "Are you kidding me?" Mari questioned angrily. Looking to Iz, who had her locker open, Mari sighed. Giving it another try, Mari failed miserably.
A fellow student walked up and took control of the situation. Hitting the locker just above the dial, the locker popped open. Mari just stared at the locker door in shock.
"Thanks," she said. As Mari looked at the girl, she thought the girl looked rather familiar. She knew that she had childhood friends that still lived in Hamilton, but she doubted any of them actually remembered her; however, the way this student was looking at her could've said differently. "Do I know you?" she questioned.
The Secret Circle. It was a name only known to those within it. For the past year, they had met across town, discovering the supernatural phenomenon within them and their family lineage. Though the power within them manifested in different ways with each individual, they were brought together to wield and control their abilities. To Meredith McDowell, it was especially important. She opened a book that unleashed those powers upon them. They needed to do this together: one of them was bound to blow themselves up if they did it alone (she was particularly worried that Iggy would meet such a fate).
Today, instead of worrying about the limits of magic, they were talking about class schedules and new teachers. The first day of school brought a sense of normalcy back to their lives, something Meredith appreciated. It kept them grounded to the real world, ensuring that they didn't become a bunch of weirdos huddled in a corner.
Their conversation was interrupted by the appearance of two figures from their past. There were rumors around the halls that the Garcia twins were returning to Hamilton Village. It had been nearly ten years since any of them spoke with either twin. In fact, the only reason Meredith had them in her mind for the past year was that their family was also alongside all the others in the book that unlocked their abilities. They were the only ones that Meredith couldn't contact. Were they having the same experiences as the rest of the group? It was a question that went unanswered for a year.
All it took was a fidgety locker to give Meredith an opening to reconnect.
"You have to give it a little love," Meredith said to Mari as she pulled gently on the locker. This was quickly followed up by slamming her fist above the dial.
"Tough love," she followed up.
Meredith could tell that Mari was grasping at an old face, trying to place this puzzle piece in her life. She eventually asked directly, to which Meredith greeted with a smile.
"Well, it's been about ten years. Maybe we need a refresher. Mariana, Izabelle. I'm Meredith. And there are a few other people that'd like to see you."
Meredith waved the rest of their old friends over to get reacquainted.
Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! The sound of Izabelle's alarm clock rang throughout her new bedroom at around five-thirty in the morning. Ugh school, she thought to herself as she lifted her head from her pillow and pressed the off button. Groaning at the sight of a few unpacked boxes, she stood up and stretched, yawning a little bit.
Early bird catches the worm and all that jazz.
Iz always got up for an early morning walk. She liked the slight exercise and it was chilliest in the morning in the little Rhode Island town; waking up so early gave her time to take a 30 minute walk, shower, and do her hair and makeup in time to get to school. Some days, if she woke up a little earlier, she'd even make herself a little something for breakfast. But today wasn't one of those days.
Lacing up her walking shoes and throwing her Nikon D5600 around her neck, Belle made her way outside to scope out the neighborhood and possibly take a few pictures. As soon as she stepped into the fresh air, Izabelle took a deep breath, smiling. The sky was still kinda dark, the sun wasn't supposed to wake up for fifteen more minutes, hindering her photo shoot for the time being. The cool air felt calm and inviting on Izzy's skin and days like this she felt the most at peace. Even more so if she didn't have school too.
On her way back home, the sun had peaked and made for the most stunning photography. She'd taken dozens of pictures by the time she'd gotten back to her house (which she almost passed by). The orange and purple sunrise, squirrels in the trees and scurrying up telephone poles, gorgeous flowers with dewdrops studding their petals. Her all time favorite were the neighborhood dogs on walks and laying in their yards. They'd wag their tails in excitement when she greeted them and jump on the fence to say hi to her.
Iz pushed her bedroom door open and connected her camera to her laptop, starting the download process and grabbing her shower caddy with all of her bathroom necessities before heading for the bathroom to shower. She connected her phone to the Bluetooth speaker and shuffled one of her playlists which consisted of mostly G-Eazy, Chance the Rapper, Alina Baraz, Halsey and The Neighbourhood.
When she just barely heard her sister's alarm, Iz turned off the water and dried her body a little, wrapping the towel around her. "Any hot water left?" Mari asked as they passed each other, to which Izzy nodded. "Always." Iz chuckled a little. She didn't know why Mariana asked, as if she took showers any hotter than a drinkable cup of tea. It wasn't often she took a hot one, maybe once or so a month. Iz couldn't really think of anyone else but herself that took ice cold showers. She loved the cold.
After getting dressed in a black spaghetti strap minidress and eggshell white thigh high boots, Iz grabbed her black purse, which doubled as her backpack, and threw it over her shoulder.
While Izabelle waited outside for her mother and twin sister, she snapped a couple of selfies to post on her social media. Satisfied with a few of her photos, she captioned them: 'First day of school' paired with an eye roll emoji and the usual twenty-something hashtags. Her sister walked over to the Jeep, her face plastered with irritation. "Where is mom? Are we seriously going to be late to the first day of school?" Mari asked, which made Iz nod.
"Knowing Mom, yeah, probably." She laughed, her eyebrows quickly furrowing in confusion when her mother pulled up in a blue Mini Cooper. As her mother explained that their grandmother had given her and Mariana cars, Izabelle couldn't help but smile. She and Mari had always complained about their mother not letting them use her Jeep. What was the point of them having their licenses if they couldn't drive anywhere?! But she could get used to this. Even if they did have to get jobs to keep them.
Pulling into a parking spot in the student parking lot, Izabelle took a deep breath. "It's now or never." She broke the silence between her and her sister, knowing fully well that the absolute last place Mari wanted to be was school; especially school in Hamilton. Her theory was confirmed when Mariana replied with, "I pick never," and Iz laughed as she got out and closed her car door.
Iz hadn't even noticed the group of people staring at the two of them until her sister mentioned it. After passing them she turned around, giving the group one more brief look over before continuing to their lockers. "Maybe they just like our outfits?" She spoke, knowing that wasn't the case. People didn't stare at you like that if they thought your outfit was cute. "I almost wore a similar one to yours, but I thought we'd look too twin-y." She chuckled.
When a girl came over to help Mari with her locker, Izabelle couldn't help but stare at her a little. She looked awfully familiar and upon her introduction, the twins' past connected with the present just a and she gasped a little bit.
THE SECRET CIRCLE
▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ✧ ▇
"To skip or not skip, that is the question." Zion mused to himself as he got ready in front of the mirror. His older brother's voice echoed from somewhere down the hall. "Zion, if you skip the first day of school, I'll put you through a f u c k i n g WALL!" Zion sucked his teeth and mimicked his brother's threat in high falsetto. He really wasn't feeling school today but he knew that if Malik found out that he had skipped, he would make good on his promise. Plus Zion was sure that his friends would be extremely pissed if he didn't show. Apparently the Garcia twins were back and the book made it blatantly obvious that the two sisters were important--or at least their family was. It was imperative that they made nice--or whatever. Zion was highly doubtful of the two group's potential cohesiveness. Did the twins even remember their old Hamilton friends? And even if they did, it had been ten years--would they even want to become friends again? Powers or not, ten years was a lot of time for people to change.
"But I guess, the only thing I can do is wait and see." He murmured to himself, fixing his hair in the mirror. After he was done dressing, and applying a smidge of make up, Zion sauntered downstairs where--"Um, what happened to 'awesome first day of school pancakes that you definitely promised to make today'?" He demanded, glowering at his brother Josiah who was pouring a questionable looking sludge into six glasses. Anais, Zion's eldest sister was eyeing the liquid from her spot at the head of the table, with disdain.
"Yeah, I was gonna do that, but I read that super food smoothies are way healthier." His brother said nonchalantly as he began placing the cups on the table.
"Okay, but what you're dishing out right now is literally mud. And I'm not drinking mud." Zion snapped, rummaging through the cabinets for cereal.
"Uh, yes you are. I spent like three hours on this smoothie and I used fifteen different fruits and vegetables. You're drinking it."
"God, Zion just drink it. What's the worst that could happen?" Anais drawled, grabbing the concoction and downing it in one gulp. Upon swallowing, she seemed to twitch and give an involuntary shiver. "Don't quit your day job, bro." Anais gave Josiah a pat and power walked out the door.
"This just in, beloved Animal Control and Shelter Director succumbs to death after drinking liquid cement..." Zion said, mimicking a news reporter.
"Shut up and drink it, you little shit." Josiah snapped, grabbing the cup and thrusting it into his brother's hands. Even with the rapid movement, the sludge didn't even ripple. The teenager took a deep breath and poked his tongue into the 'drink' and immediately gagged as a cascade of conflicting fruit and vegetable flavors--jesus, was that kale strong--assaulted his taste buds. "That taste like a burst appendix feels like." He said and raced out the door before Josiah could make him drink more.
Even though he stopped at CoffeeCash for a latte, Zion got to school pretty much on time--which was a first for him and hopefully a last. He joined up with the rest of his friends in waiting for the Garcia twins to arrive and when they did, Meredith took the opportunity to teach one of them how to open the 'hurt' locker. Nice one, Merry. He thought.
When Meredith waved them over, Zion took one last deep drink of his latte before carefully making sure to put it in the 'biodegradable bin'.
"I'm Zion Hunter, nice to see you guys again."
Hailey
As her body stayed curled in her bed, Hailey twitched and mumbled in her sleep. The lights dimmed and her room shook dangerously till her eyes opened and she gasped. The place went back to normal off white room with black curtains and a black bedding. Hailey sat panting drenched in sweat. Getting up slowly she went to the connected bathroom to shower and hopefully get the nightmare out of her mind. Once she was out of the shower she looked at the still prominent bruises that were starting to fade. She slipped on a long black sleeve shirt jeans and boots. Grabbing her leather jacket she went to grab her purse. Walking out of her room, she went to the kitchen and grabbed a bite to eat. She been slow to wake up this morning her brother was already gone to work and left her a note to say have a good day at school. Almost choking on her smoothie she looked at the time and grabbed her keys."Oh Fuck." She said. It was the first day of school. She was going to be hell a late. Rushing down to her car, she started the engine and squealed out of the drive way.
Hailey made her way through back roads and sped as fast as she could to the school. Her brother had stipulations if she was to stay with him and one of them was go to school. She really could not go back to her dad's or be homeless so she wanted to get to school. Zooming down the quiet road her vehicle seemed to crawl to stop outside the house her mother was killed in and her abuse happened. She shivered and sped off quickly.
She made it with sometime to spare. Parking her car. Hailey stepped out put the pass on her window, grabbing her purse she hurried for the school after locking her car. She couldn't believe she was so close to being late. Walking in quickly she passed the group and headed for her locker quickly. She had waved, but was afraid the bell ring before she got her locker open. She breathed a sigh of relief when her locker came insight.
She quickly did the combination and opened it. She shoved her bag in and grabbed a note book and a mechanical pencil along with A leather bound book. She slapped her forehead almost forgetting she had a meeting this morning. She saw Merry with two familiar looking girls. Her eyebrows raised. That was right the twins came back. She waved to Merry and pointed to the office.
Making her way quickly there. She told the Assitant she was here to see the principal. The male called her in and had her sit."Hailey welcome. I am glad you made it almost on time." He said."sorry, I missed my alarm." She said. He nods and sits across from her." Hailey I know loosing your mother last year made you falter and many things suffered including school you passed by the skin of your teeth,but you don't have that excuse this year, your being held to a higher standard no one will coddle you this year." He said. Hailey face turned from apologetic to dark. Her eyes went his and she held the chair." You have no right to say anything. You have no clue what has happened to me or what really happened to my mother. I will not sit here and let you tell me how I will be." She snapped loudly and stood."Now you have suffiently wasted my time, I am going to try and make my first class." She said."Sit down miss Night were not done." He said."if you do not improve your attitude or grades this year you will be kicked out. We all have problems, your not the only one." He told her."now here is a note the bell will ring soon so you will be late to your first class. Thank you for coming in this morning."The principal said."Yeah was a real joy." She said and snatched the note and stormed out of the office annoyed.A dark cloud seemed to trail her and her now very bad mood.
The Hellfires #7
It was the first day of Iggy's Senior year of High School. The year that was suppose to be the best of the best. He was the Quarterback of the Hamilton Hawks and he was definitely a shoe-in for Prom King. There was only one thing that could ruin his perfect Senior year; Iggy didn't have a Prom Date fit enough for Prom Queen yet. Sure he dated lots of girls and he could have most of the girls at Hamilton High, but none of them screamed Prom Queen. A King needs his Queen and he hadn't found her yet. Or she hasn't found him yet. Either way, he couldn't be a Prom King who's date wasn't Prom Queen; that wouldn't work. It would go down in history as the saddest thing to happen to a Prom King ever. At least in Iggy's eyes it would be.
Nonetheless, he got into his all red G-Wagon, that his mother got him for an early birthday present. Yes, Iggy's birthday was just a couple of days away. Another reason why this year would be perfect; it was his eighteenth birthday coming up and he couldn't wait. This year was all Iggy Hellfire's. "Let's go baby!" Giant grin on his face, as he blasted Drake's God's Plan, extremely loud, down the highway towards his school. "She say, do you love me? I tell her only partly. I only love my bed and my momma, I'm sorry!" Everyone passing by the obnoxious teenager, driving down the highway, rolled their eyes and gasped at how bright his G-Wagon was and his annoyingly loud his music played. Iggy didn't care one bit; it was his year and no one could tell him different. And also he was a Hellfire; and no one messed with a Hellfire and lived to tell the tell. Or so the rumors say.
Once in the parking lot of his school, Iggy turned off his music and hopped out of his vehicle. Before heading into the school, he had to go on Snapchat and Instagram. Posting multiple selfies with filters and showing off his new ride. Hashtagging everything he could and tagging everyone he knew. "Don't be jealous." He sent to his Snapchat Friends. Fixing his hat and putting away his phone, Iggy met up with his friends that he had known since they were little kids. Even though he still had a different friend group made up of what you'd consider the "popular" kids, after all the craziness happened, he became good friends with his old friends again. Especially his boys, Junie and Zion. They were "The Three Amigos" for the most part. Earth, Wind and Fire.
Speaking of Junie, spotting him with the group, Iggy slapped him on the back and grinned. "Wassup, Junie!" He yelled loud enough to get the attention of their history teacher, that just rolled her eyes behind her glasses. "Sorry, Mrs. Lockhart. It won't happen again." She pointed to his hat. He removed it, but not without an overexaggerated sigh. Using his fingers to comb out his hair, as he attached the hat to his waistband. "So, Junie. I got your vote for Prom King right?" Laughing. "I know I do, didn't even have to ask." Giving his best bro a bear hug, before placing the shorter male back down on the ground.
While him and his friends stood around discussing whatever, Iggy noticed the doors of the school open and two girls from his pass came walking in. His eyes went straight to the one wearing a sexy black dress. "Damn ... is that ... Izzy?" Iggy and Izzy had a childhood relationship when they were younger, before the Garcia Twins had to leave town and way before all of this magic shit started to happen. Just when he thought he wouldn't have that perfect end with his Prom Queen.
Iggy watched as all of his friends went over to both girls, after Meredith ushered them over. He didn't know what to say at first, so he waited for a second or two. Standing in front of one of his "Vote for me for Prom King" posters he had made by the Digital Arts kids in his school. This was the first time the usually loud and in your face Alpha Male was lost for words. Shaking it off after a few minutes, he walked over to his group of friends.
"Aye, is that Mariana Garcia?" Putting his hand against and above his forehead, as if he couldn't see her and squinting a little too. Grinning with those perfect white teeth. "It's Iggy ... you gotta remember me. Iggy Hellfire." Then he turned to Izzy and that smile on his face, got a little bigger. "And this can't be Izabelle Garcia. Izzy?" Sliding next to her and resting against the locker right beside her's.
"I hope you remember your first boyfriend." He gave a small laugh. "You look beautiful. We're even matching a little. Black, white and grey." Showing off his outfit with a spin. "Iggy and Izzy, back at it again. How you been?" Folding his arms over his chest, flexing. Muscles even showing through the long sleeve shirt.
It was the first day of Iggy's Senior year of High School. The year that was suppose to be the best of the best. He was the Quarterback of the Hamilton Hawks and he was definitely a shoe-in for Prom King. There was only one thing that could ruin his perfect Senior year; Iggy didn't have a Prom Date fit enough for Prom Queen yet. Sure he dated lots of girls and he could have most of the girls at Hamilton High, but none of them screamed Prom Queen. A King needs his Queen and he hadn't found her yet. Or she hasn't found him yet. Either way, he couldn't be a Prom King who's date wasn't Prom Queen; that wouldn't work. It would go down in history as the saddest thing to happen to a Prom King ever. At least in Iggy's eyes it would be.
Nonetheless, he got into his all red G-Wagon, that his mother got him for an early birthday present. Yes, Iggy's birthday was just a couple of days away. Another reason why this year would be perfect; it was his eighteenth birthday coming up and he couldn't wait. This year was all Iggy Hellfire's. "Let's go baby!" Giant grin on his face, as he blasted Drake's God's Plan, extremely loud, down the highway towards his school. "She say, do you love me? I tell her only partly. I only love my bed and my momma, I'm sorry!" Everyone passing by the obnoxious teenager, driving down the highway, rolled their eyes and gasped at how bright his G-Wagon was and his annoyingly loud his music played. Iggy didn't care one bit; it was his year and no one could tell him different. And also he was a Hellfire; and no one messed with a Hellfire and lived to tell the tell. Or so the rumors say.
Once in the parking lot of his school, Iggy turned off his music and hopped out of his vehicle. Before heading into the school, he had to go on Snapchat and Instagram. Posting multiple selfies with filters and showing off his new ride. Hashtagging everything he could and tagging everyone he knew. "Don't be jealous." He sent to his Snapchat Friends. Fixing his hat and putting away his phone, Iggy met up with his friends that he had known since they were little kids. Even though he still had a different friend group made up of what you'd consider the "popular" kids, after all the craziness happened, he became good friends with his old friends again. Especially his boys, Junie and Zion. They were "The Three Amigos" for the most part. Earth, Wind and Fire.
Speaking of Junie, spotting him with the group, Iggy slapped him on the back and grinned. "Wassup, Junie!" He yelled loud enough to get the attention of their history teacher, that just rolled her eyes behind her glasses. "Sorry, Mrs. Lockhart. It won't happen again." She pointed to his hat. He removed it, but not without an overexaggerated sigh. Using his fingers to comb out his hair, as he attached the hat to his waistband. "So, Junie. I got your vote for Prom King right?" Laughing. "I know I do, didn't even have to ask." Giving his best bro a bear hug, before placing the shorter male back down on the ground.
While him and his friends stood around discussing whatever, Iggy noticed the doors of the school open and two girls from his pass came walking in. His eyes went straight to the one wearing a sexy black dress. "Damn ... is that ... Izzy?" Iggy and Izzy had a childhood relationship when they were younger, before the Garcia Twins had to leave town and way before all of this magic shit started to happen. Just when he thought he wouldn't have that perfect end with his Prom Queen.
Iggy watched as all of his friends went over to both girls, after Meredith ushered them over. He didn't know what to say at first, so he waited for a second or two. Standing in front of one of his "Vote for me for Prom King" posters he had made by the Digital Arts kids in his school. This was the first time the usually loud and in your face Alpha Male was lost for words. Shaking it off after a few minutes, he walked over to his group of friends.
"Aye, is that Mariana Garcia?" Putting his hand against and above his forehead, as if he couldn't see her and squinting a little too. Grinning with those perfect white teeth. "It's Iggy ... you gotta remember me. Iggy Hellfire." Then he turned to Izzy and that smile on his face, got a little bigger. "And this can't be Izabelle Garcia. Izzy?" Sliding next to her and resting against the locker right beside her's.
"I hope you remember your first boyfriend." He gave a small laugh. "You look beautiful. We're even matching a little. Black, white and grey." Showing off his outfit with a spin. "Iggy and Izzy, back at it again. How you been?" Folding his arms over his chest, flexing. Muscles even showing through the long sleeve shirt.
"Give it to me you little goblin!" Junie huffed before yanking his car keys from the grip of his younger brother Oliver. The tiny seven-year-old fell backward from losing the tug-of-war on to his bottom, while the back of his head hit the floor of the living room. They both went silent after hearing the thump sound the impact made. Hearing and seeing it both made Junie visibly wince. The two brothers went silent, staring at one another before Oliver's eyes started to water and low whine began from his throat. "This is why I told you to give it to me, you little kumiho. Come here."
The moment Oliver had stolen his car keys at breakfast for the thrill of the chase, Junie knew he would not be in school at his usual time. While he didn't consider himself to be a hard worker or too responsible, he was when it came to the things he liked, the biggest thing being music. Every school day, he arrived early so he could practice before the bell rang without anyone to bother him. That had been ruined all by his younger brother who he lifted up from the floor and rubbed the back of his gently, checking for a bump. Once he concluded there was none, he rolled his eyes at the younger boy who still remained crying. If his mother walked in on the situation, then he would be late for school period.
"I'll give you five bucks if you shut up," Junie offered as he dug into his pocket and pulling out his wallet. He waved his leather-bound money holder. It was almost comical how fast the crying ceased. A sly smirk made it's way onto his face as his brother's eye movements followed his wallet.
"Make it ten and I won't tell umma." His younger brother sniffled, wiping the tears away from his face.
Junie scoffed, "I've taught you too well." Nonetheless, he paid his brother the ten dollar bill and watched as his face broke into a huge grin. He didn't bother saying goodbye before hopping off with his money. It was more than enough to make Junie roll his eyes at the sight of the kid. His siblings were prime examples of why he didn't like kids. They were awful in more ways than one. Though, he had to give them credit for it. They were also entertaining.
He ran out the door before his mother came to him, like she did everything, with a disgusting health shake. For the first time in history, he was able to escape it in his black convertible. The very car his parents bought him after a year of begging for one. However, as peculiar as it was, he preferred to walk but their house was too far from school and it was a pain having to wait for his parents to drive him everywhere. And there was no way he'd ever ride on a bus after his last experience.
Once at school, he zipped straight inside only pausing to check the ping of a notification on his phone. To his expectation, Iggy had taken a selfie of himself with his car. A smile blossomed onto his face as he rolled his eyes. Admittedly, Junie rarely ever got onto social media, most people didn't like his taste in art that he uploaded onto Instagram. But he loved to follow his friends online and see their uploads, Iggy posted the most, obviously.
Suddenly getting a slap on the back made him jump before he recognized the person who did it. The Kazehaya boy smiled at Iggy. "Iggy." He laughed, taking off his denim jacket and wrapping it around his waist. Before he could even give an answer as to whether or not he would vote for the taller male, he was lifted off the ground and wrapped in his arms in a bear hug. With his thin stature and seemingly short, though it was average, height, he was used to it by now. "I'll vote for you, but you've got to stop picking me up like that. You know you're the reason I can't get a date, right?" With a roll of his eyes, his attention was also stolen by the sight of the Garcia twins.
So the rumors had been true. They were back and all grown up too.
Junie ruffled his hair, tousling his black locks before approaching them after Iggy did. It was amusing to see how he was so obviously interested in Izzy. "Nearly over ten years I reckon," Junie answered in their stead, his mouth formed a smirk as he shoved his hands into his pockets. "Ladies." He greeted them with a nod of his head.
