Many a time it was said throughout this ordeal, but once again, with so much happening at once, one event after another, Shichika was left somewhat exasperated at all that was happening. A Sentinel over there, a Harbinger there, and so on. He stuck close to Seisa, rubbing his head as he attempted to make sense of all this in the meantime.

He wasn't a very fast thinker.

"Wait, so... Why is Giorno-san mad? Didn't he hate his father, Seisa-san?"

...

"Is Cassandra okay? She keeps talking in a weird accent and I can't understand her, and now everyone's all mad at her for some reason? Why did Stark the Hedgehog attack her out of nowhere? That seemed really uncalled for, just because you got mad you couldn't understand her."

...

"Also I don't see what the problem is with killing either. As long as they're bad people, right? I'm not sure how this relates to Noel and Bailey, since they're not gonna die, right? They just sorta... unceremoniously disappear, like Ken Ten did last time. I'm sure they'll be back in no time though... I think."

"That's your problem, man. You're too worried about yourself to think about anyone else! How would you feel if you did something that you had no control over and then have people wanting to kill you over it? I wanna go home just as much as everyone else does, but killing someone isn't the way to do it."

"I'm afraid you're describing an unlikely scenario," Dorian said, giving Sonic a sidelong glance. He was still pretty sure the talking blue animal was a demon of some sort. At least a construct of the Fade. "And in the extremely small chance what you describe turned out to happen, I'm afraid it's not our current reality. I am here and she is there. Perhaps if I was aware that I had no control of my actions, I would be begging for release."

"I can think of nothing worse than to have no control over one's own actions. To be at the whims of others. They say those voted are still out there, but we just don't know for sure. Either way, this is a mercy."

The smell of alcohol was strong, very strong. Sensitive to smell Noembelu grimaced, but the drunk and her gun didn't cost her her composure. "You would have had a dead feline," she said. "Or a dead person. Birdie and I worked as one unit, there's still someone else who will kill next time."

She again nodded to A2. "It's appreciated. Very much so." As the android got in front of Constanza, Noembelu turned her attention back to the drunk. "As to your other question, borracha pequeña, no. It didn't feel good at all." She was going to say more, but Giorno addressed her.

"...yes. I killed him." Letting that sink in, she figured she owed it to Giorno to explain. "I chose Dio as my target because he reminded me of the man who turned me into what I am today. The way he hypnotized that woman, beat his son, had unlimited power at his hands..." Noembelu had to pause again. "If someone had to die, it was going to be the man who was pure evil.

"Dio was given the distraction of six monsters to fight. Once weakened, Birdie knocked him out with a headbutt to the skull. The only injuries Dio sustained before dying were the headbutt fracture and the stake. I was clued into Dio's identity as a vampire and made the stake. However...things got complicated after that."

Another pause, longer. "I saw in Dio the face of M. Bison. I saw three years of my life, and...Birdie had to pull me off. By the time I realized it I had pummeled his face almost to a pulp." Her hand touched the hilt of her hatchet. "I had to frame someone. I knew just the person. He had a signature weapon, claws, and I tried to imitate that." She looked at Howlett. "I didn't know you had the same weapon. The person I framed wasn't even here."

"So, what then? I got mind controlled?"

"Yes. You got the order, but refused."

"And you didn't. You wanted to kill?"

"I wanted a choice. I would've been forced to do it if I said no. I've spent three years with no choice in anything. I thought maybe, just once...I could have a little control. As a result, I was able to kill who I chose. Like I said, I would never have killed Blaze. Whatever was controlling me must have seen her as a threat."

Noembelu turned back to Giorno. "If you want to kill me, you have every right to do so. I know you want justice for your father. His life was not mine to take, even if I tried to use some Freudian excuse for it. I know what I've done, I accept any consequences that may come. But...leave Birdie out of it."

"Ha...Ha...Hahahaha!"

Fucking comedic gold.

Even after the native and her chain friend admitted to their crimes, all these goody two-shoes from left to right came strutting about like the moral busybodies they presented themselves as. Why, Constanza wondered if half of these people held their chins so high they couldn't see their damn feet, altruism and illusions of civility leading them on. It was so damn funny to the veteran she couldn't help but pull up the hood of her hoodie, having to have something to hold onto as her sides began to ache from sheer laughter.

"You are the most fuckin' laughable buncha of Blue Jeans I eve' seen. What is next, a-are we gonna say how okay it is to be a murderer?" Constanza started, holstering her Serbu Shorty and balling her hands into fists, making circular motions over her eyes as if she were wiping away tears. "Oh, please, I am just so misunderstood! I didn't actually mean to kill Dio!" she said in a mocking, degrading tone, the drunk stumbling back, putting a hand over her chest as she let out one deep breath to regain her composure.

Seeing the android block her path towards the two fiends, accompanied by some other busybodies, Constanza cracked her neck, holding in her hand an empty jug of alcohol. Letting her fingers drum against the opening, the gangsta eyed up her competition.

"Nownow, I let you pussies stop me the first time. And you know what? I was wrong 'bout the kid. But this time? We ain't wrong about these pushers. Fuck that, you malditos tontos. In the military, we search n' destroy. Batta bing, batta boom. So I'll give you a fockin' choice." Constanza spoke, tosing the jug up and pointing it towards A2 and anybody else that felt high and mighty to stop the deranged veteran.

"Ye get out of my fuckin' way and let me do my job, or I'll teach y'all how whiskey is brewed in Reno, balla."

Danielle turned towards Dorian. "Is it the weapon that does the killing. Or the person controlling it?" She didn't want this to end up as some sort of kangaroo court.

CADC26_zpsruuzpfjv.png

"If we kill them we're no better then the one pulling our strings right now."

"He's not wrong." Howlett responded. "They say that they were being controlled. Not saying it's not true...but does that mean they only deserve a slap on the wrist."

Danielle didn't quite know what to respond to that. "..All I know is that they don't deserve death."

Dorian scoffed.

Giorno's voice was as clear as water, resounding over the crackling fire of the group's debate. His face was painted with the same confusion and agitation that was infecting everyone present, but the presence of that 'tranquil fury' is still apparent. The boss turned to face the killer of his father, letting out a sigh.

"I don't remember ever saying I intended to kill anyone...or, I don't think I ever said I was angry."

Giorno raised a finger to Shichika, "You should rely more on the spoken word rather than what an ambiguous facial expression will tell you."

Despite his words, Giorno turned around to Noembelu and Birdie, staring at them with judgement, "...but, I suppose I would be lying if I said I was completely content. From what I understand, you murdered my father with no actions of 'truth'...you weren't acting on your own conscience. You say you killed him because of something that pained you in the past, but your lying. There is a greater power using you like a puppet -- like that woman we fought."

"...I don't believe you would've killed DIO if you were completely free of any influence. And even if you did...I won't give him the right to any kind of vengeance or mourning. He's taken too much to be 'given' anything."

"So, I won't kill anyone. And I won't be letting anyone here kill anyone, because I don't let those things happen."

"Not because I think taking the life of someone who has taken the life of another is immoral; because, if you're actions were truly evil...
I wouldn't hesitate to kill you were you stand."

" I don't believe you deserve that fate.

"Not just yet."

Turning back to the rest of the group, Giorno was holding his position as a 'boss' over everyone present, if they didn't give a damn who he was. He spoke the words of someone who had no insecurity about his ability; he has that kind of strength to make decisions grounded in truth and honesty.

"Uwah... S-Scary," was all Shichika could say in response to Giorno.

He would have refuted that he wasn't good at reading facial expressions, and that it wasn't even that long ago that Shichika had learned the ability to tell people's faces apart, but it was perhaps the first time in a rather long time that he had been even remotely intimidated in any genuine sense. Perhaps it was true that friends could be scarier than enemies sometimes. Still, he felt little need to say more on the matter. Slow as he was, Shichika was able to read the room well enough, and even if he couldn't, he could practically feel the heavy air, or in other words, the gravity of the situation.

For the first time so far, they had managed to apprehend some of the occasional killers lurking among the group, and that was sure to always bring up tensions no matter what. He felt there was no need in adding another vote on Birdie and Noembelu; it seemed impossible that the tide was going to change to any significant degree, unless someone was going to go ahead and mean-spiritedly vote Constanza out of spite for whatever reason.

Well, whatever.

"Ooh, I can talk if you'd like," Shichika then proceeded to raise his hand in response to Dorian, "Like I said before, killing isn't always bad. Sometimes, it's even necessary," he spoke, also inadvertently contrasting the point Sonic was attempting to make in the process, "I thought we were all in agreement on that. I mean, we did just spend the last few hours killing giant, humanoid monsters and strange, skull-like beasts, so it'd be hypocritical to say that it's bad all the time."

"Apparently it's rather easy to get on your nerves," Dorian said, his smile widening. It was probably not good for Sonic to tell him that. "I'm pretty sure I'm already taking my problem up with you, or maybe you just didn't realize it. I didn't catch who put you in charge of our merry band, but then I suppose you think you speak for everybody. I can only speak for myself, but I do believe the matter requires more than a child's understanding of morality. Would you allow the one behind this such a courtesy?"

He gestured to Shichika, who had so conveniently said what was on his mind. "That we have. We have been thrust into a war, whether we like it or not. Not often does that involve good guys and bad guys, not entirely. Your only solution, as you tell it, is to vote these two and send them away. Do you even know where they go? The boy who was taken away before has still not returned to us. And that is, why...?"

Dorian didn't exactly care for diving into such philosophical talking points with this group, but he honestly felt like he was talking to the uneducated. To be dismissed so promptly was nothing short of infuriating. At least the soldier had the courtesy to say he had a point.

"... It is best to avoid as many deaths as we can..." She said, eyeing Azuma out of the corner of her eye as she spoke.

Though it seemed that she noticed the anti-proton bomb being held by her, the young woman didn't seem phased... Perhaps she had a few countermeasures for this? It wasn't long before she directed her attention back to Noembelu and Birdie though.

"Both of you have been influenced by the being that traps us here... And the only way to lift it... Without your deaths, is to transport you..." She said, then she paused, realizing that this may further give some the incentive to kill Birdie, Noembelu, or both of them.

"There is much I have to learn about the nature of your arrival... But, I know that with each death that befalls your group... The being that holds us here grows stronger." She added, lowering her voice a little.

Seems like she was still rather nervous about the potential of what she is saying being overheard by... Something.

"But now... With this information, this situation... It... It's like a M-... ..." She caught herself before she could continue.

Evidently, her concerns about being overheard by someone, or something had halted her once again, from elaborating any further.

Casting Dorian an apologetic look, she decided not to pursue the topic any further than neccessay, and instead, turned towards Noembelu and Birdie.

"It is my hope... That we'll meet you again... All of you." She said, looking a little hopefull at that prospect.

As to why, and how... Well, it didn't seem like she was going to elaborate on that either, at least not right now.

Analyzing the footage, Ben unfortunately could not find a discernable symbol born by the "cultist" woman... But he did find multiple other instances of her in action, and the extent of her powers were frightening, having gone much further beyond anything they had ever experienced.

She was tearing through airships, regardless of the size, and various machines and gun emplacements alike like butter, and though her face was obscured by her mask... One could imagine she was smiling.

Though Ben did not have any luck in finding anyone like her through his search through the footage, he did catch a glimpse of what he could assume to have been Vale's last moments; a blue portal opening above the city itself... And a black, humanoid figure, with burning eyes, before that particular camera abruptly cut out.

It seemed that there was nothing more to discover here, but judging by the commotion they could hear going on in that futuristic tower... Where Dio, and that blue haired woman that had offered to help them was.
...
@BarrenThin

The mysterious creatures were successfully fended off by Dio's stand, however... Many of them appeared to have maintained their distance initially, and had as a result, been out of range of "The World". Their bodies suddenly began to shift and change, hardening into a rock-like substance as their colors seemed to shift from a more orangish hue to a greenish one...

Through all this commotion, the woman turned her attention from the screen, her eyes darting around the room as she instantly seemed to recognize what they were up against... And temporarily halted what she was doing as a result.

Raising her hands, she closed her eyes... Concentrating for a moment as she summoned forth bolks of electricity, which quickly leaped from her hands... Targetting the creatures, which appeared to have caused them to temporarily freeze up, and emit smoke... Leaving them open for the world to finish them off.

However, it may be in Dio's best intentions to do so as quick as possible, given that the creatures seemed to display a mysterious ability to adapt themselves to the situation... Though it was a mystery how that functioned.

Somebody noticed Chara.

"Kid, what are you doing over here?" JD asked simply. Seeing Chara alone reminded him of how he was before meeting Veronica. The weird loner that was mostly ignored. Minus the knife.

I think."

"You're certainly not the only one confused by this ordeal of contradictions and confusion, Shichika," Mipha said. She thought back to the meetings between the Champions of Hyrule. Revali would always take an opportunity to make some snide comment, Darunia would argue with his best intentions, Zelda would rely on Urbosa to calm the tempers of those two and Mipha herself would remain mostly silent. Link, as well, remained silent. That was no surprise.

Yet A2 had stepped forward and brought the truth to light with a brutal and commanding honesty. A2 remained Mipha much of the Gerudo Champion, Urbosa. Both were strong women who could fight well and keep a situation under control, as well as both having some connection to electricity. However, the outer shell of A2 seemed much more distant and cold than Urbosa was.

"Perhaps there is a friend worth making in her if she survives to see another day with the target of being a Sentinel on her back," Mipha thought.

"Enough."

He's taken too much to be 'given' anything."

c47e721849a7ea61a40ca97ba2f8f957.png

@Atomyk @CrunchyCHEEZIT @Yun Lee @thatguyinthestore @Investigation

"However, Shichika, I must disagree with your sentiment about killing. There is a clear difference between life-threatening monsters and life-filled people.

"I agree with Giorno more. If any of us tries to kill one another, I shall do all in my power to protect everyone and keep us all alive. We must work together now to root out the traitor."

Yalena shook her head, frowning a little as she thought it over.

Something.

@thatguyinthestore @Kaykay @Verite @Yun Lee @Krieg @CrunchyCHEEZIT @Jeremi @Gummi Bunnies @Atomyk

"With the information I had at the time... I was not sure..." She said, rubbing her chin a little.

@BarrenThin

The more Mipha heard about this mysterious force mentioned by their time-space-travelling ally, the more she was reminded of the demonic force that plagued her home world. Calamity Ganon...

Whatever creature had ensnared them was at least as strong as Calamity Ganon, of not more. Was it possible that the two were one in the same? It might explain how Mipha herself was resurrected. If that were the case, then Mipha's body was formed through that malice.

She chose not to focus on the fact and instead on the situation which was more prevalent.

Dorian had to admit, that was certainly a unique way to put it. "Last I checked, we removed the lives from those life-filled monsters," he said, raising his arms in a shrug. "And we have a life-threatening presence among us, don't we? You seem to agree that killing as a part of prolonging one's own life and the lives of those around them is what we should do, and so I have to wonder what difference there is here."

"Enmity!"

That was what Upgrade exclaimed as the computer's screen displayed the scenes that Upgrade was analysing, which included the masked woman ripping through airships and machinery, as well as footage of a black figure coming through a portal.

That was when they heard a commotion from the other building. Upgrade's liquid metal body was de-fused from the computer, allowing it to return to its broken, plastic-cased state.

GD49L4k.png

"We can talk on the way, something's bugging DIO and the lady," Upgrade points a finger towards the source of the commotion. "Hold on tight, I'll get us in there in a flash."

Buddy jumps onto Upgrade's shoulder, and Upgrade extends a hand to Blaze.

Upgrade would enter the building by stretching his body into the window. More convenient than the door, one might say. The crew would see DIO and the lady dealing with red humanoids, who soon turned into green-hued rocky humanoids!

KMO6mdA.png

"Hey uglies!" Upgrade mocks the odd, rocky humanoids as he blasts green-hued lasers from his eyes right at them. "Eat this!"

Buddy, on the other hand, would jump in front of Upgrade after he was done firing his laserbeams, before launching a volley of homing Shadow Balls at the green, rocky humanoids!

Zf25OKA.gif

"Skree-ee-ee!"

Now that Buddy was in the fray, Upgrade took this time to look around the area for weapons or even simple machinery that could be used for combat.

"There has to be something here..." Upgrade ponders.

Mipha was caught off guard by Dorian's words. It was true that she had killed for the sake of protecting her people. The whole purpose of the Divine Beast she controlled was to kill Calamity Ganon. But Ganon and his monsters weren't filled with the same life as humans, were they?

"In times of war and need, I will concede that violence is necessary. However, it is not always the only option. Right now, we are able to talk rationally with Birdie and Noemblu. The option exists to keep them from killing other's without taking their lives.

"If violence was our primary solution, then what if we had guessed wrong? Even I can't restore life to a dead being. However, the price of life isn't taken away when being teleported away. Violence should be the last solution, as it comes with the heaviest price."

Mipha's sentences shook like a rickety, worn-away bridge over a chasm. Her own words gave her little support above the endless ravine of doubt. She couldn't believe in her own defence, but her face remained collected and professional, at the very least.
