It is said that brevity is the soul of wit. There is, without a doubt, a time and place for long paragraphs filled with wondrous descriptions. Other times, however, less is more. What can you create from the prompt using only two sentences?

This time, the theme is:

Injection​
 
Alison reluctantly allowed her friends to talk her into going to the new singles bar, "The Lonesome Pony," since they faithfully promised that this time it was a classy place filled with upscale guys that knew how to treat a lady.

But she realized with dread it was once again a fail when, after only 10 minutes, she'd had to peel a wandering hand off her thigh, decline a solicitation to pole dance, and turn down the (shudder) offer of a "love injection."

"Mwahahahahaha!" laughed the greengrocer as he danced about, injecting his watermelons with sweet, red liquid. "Never again shall my fruits be called pale and bland!"

Calem's closed eyes jolted open from a sudden surge of pain coursing throughout his entire body as if his insides were lit aflame while he slept. A burly hand covered his mouth, forcing his screams to a halt while a nurse nearby mockingly brandished a now empty hypodermic needle.

Her body was laid out on the floor in a limp fashion as the demon's lifeforce coursed through her veins, filling every part of her; body and soul. Its power setting her veins on fire better than any drug that had ever been injected into them.
 
Caryn leaned close to the girl lying on the bed in bay three, "Miss...miss...can you hear me?"

She felt for a pulse and glancing up the girl's arm saw a red and obviously infected injection site, and sighed out a heavy breath full of frustration and compassion.
 
Suit and tie makes you a funny man.

Injections of your greed makes you a cruel man.

"No!" She screamed out into the night as the inject able anti venom vial shattered against the floor. Her tears and blood mixed into the mess as she tried desperately to grab up the pieces of glass and liquid that meant her love could keep living.

" Is it going to hurt?" The child asked with all the innocence of a 10 year old as the masked doctor prepared the needle, tapping it slightly with his index finger before leveling it towards his arm.

Then, everything was pain.

She remembered far too late while she hated and didn't trust the doctors in their small quaint town.

They had already given her the injection to become one of them, another mindless drone who would always be done what she was told, no matter the personal cost.

She slumped against her bed as the injection ran its course, stealing away her pain and hunger and leaving her in a state of euphoria. Slowly, her heart beat slower...and slower...
 
She buried her head underneath her arms as she sat outside the door, listening to her sister's screams for mercy.

Next, it would be her turn for her first injection, and this was not filling her with confidence.
