Looking for some group experience!

Hi! You may or may not have seen me around the 1x1 forums - that's where I spend most of my time - but now I'm looking for some experience in a group RP! I have never done a group RP on Iwaku, or any similar roleplaying forum. I have been in Tumblr rp groups, but the dynamic and style is entirely different. So, essentially, it's new to me.

What I'm looking for in a group:
  • Relatively slow-paced. If I need to post once a day to avoid being completely lost, I doubt it will work out.
  • A newer group, or a group that's been around awhile but has a smaller amount of members. I just don't want to be overwhelmed upon joining up.
  • People who will help me through the process of learning to post in a group rp setting.
  • Tolerance for short, but well-written, posts. I'm a firm believer that not every post needs to be 5+ paragraphs to get the point across effectively.
  • High quality writers, but again, not those who expect novel posts.
  • Mostly, if not all, adult members
What interests me:
  • Medieval or pseudo-medieval settings (!!!!!)
  • Fantasy
  • Non-fantasy historical
  • Casual sci-fi
  • Post-apocalyptic
  • Fandom settings and/or characters (Dragon Age, Elder Scrolls, GoT, Star Wars)
  • Romance
  • LGBT, disability, racial, and gender diversity
  • Tolerance for smut, but not a focus on it
What DOES NOT interest me:
  • Slice of life
  • Most modern settings
  • Anime, unless it's a specific anime fandom roleplay that I'm interested in
  • A non-diverse cast of characters and pairings
  • Tabletop rpg mechanics
  • Anything involving playing as real people
I am most likely only looking to join one, but don't hesitate to make a suggestion if you see I've already gotten one. I'd like to have a few options.

It definitely looks like something that might interest me. I'll put some more thought into potential characters, and I'll let you know if I have any questions :)

I am curious what exactly turns you off of tabletop RPG mechanics? ^.^
