Smack!

Val removed her hand from her arm and squinted her eyes at her arm a where smashed mosquito laid. Luckily, it had not bit her yet, so she simply brushed the dead bug off of her arm with a heavy sigh. What a nice welcome home. She thought to herself.

Leaning against a beautiful red Mercedes, legs crossed, Val waited patiently with crossed arms. Who was she waiting for? Anyone! Her car had broken down on a road, in the countryside of Idaho, far away from anyone else house. Maybe not too far, but she couldn't see any buildings from where she was.

Her phone was dead, sadly. So, there was no way for her to contact anyone or even the film crew to let them know she'd be late. That is if they were even here. She had gone ahead before them to make some things clear with her family.

It had been years since she last been home. She hadn't even come back to visit once. Of course, she had invited her family to come up to LA and visit her, but they refused. So, that also meant she hadn't seen them in years either. And that would usually be heartbreaking, but she hadn't really missed them as much as she should have.

They obviously hadn't missed her that much either, considering they never visited. Maybe they were too intimidated by her status. It could be that.

Because yes, Val had been a country girl originally, but she left as soon as she could and made herself something big. An award winning actress and model. She was pretty damn proud of herself. And she promised she wouldn't be coming back to this place again.

That was until she was scouted for a TV show that was planning to film in not only her home state but her hometown. Ironic. It was a picturesque place with lots of scenery, it fit the premise of the show perfectly.

And sadly, she didn't dare think about turning down the offer for the show. So many people wee psyched for it and it would help boost her career even further. If she did well on the show, she was sure she'd get a lot more opportunities. It was decided, she packed her bags and left early.

Now, she was stranded with mosquitos trying to eat her. Surprisingly, after the hours she had been waiting, she kept cool.

"Five more minutes. Just wait five more minutes." Val told herself, a little on edge now as she fixed the sunglasses on her face. She'd just wait five more minutes to see if a car would pass by, then she could get help. But for all the times she had been waiting, not one car had come.

If no care came within the time she told herself, then she would go looking. But she really did not want that. She was wearing heels and a miniskirt. And that would be uncomfortable to do, she knew that for a fact.
