Personality
In real life Matthew is a kind young man who always does what is required of him and does everything that he can to finish projects to the best of his abilities. However he is very introverted and quiet. He doesn't have very good social skills which has caused him to be ridiculed by his fellow classmates. He wants to be able to interact with people better and he wants to be there for others..but his lack of social skills makes that near impossible to do.
Background:
His parents were killed in a car accident when he was a young boy which could explain his lack of social skills as he got older and why he was attracted to gaming. He was raised by his aunt and uncle however they never showed any true love for him. Sympathy for his parents death yes..but he would often hear them talking about how much trouble he was for them to raise and how they were just barely getting by. While they said that they loved and cared for him..he felt that because of him they couldn't live their lives properly and the way they wanted to..that it was his fault for everything. This was only another factor that caused him to become more drawn into himself and to avoid contacting others. That's why he found his love for gaming.
Reaction to being invited to be a premium beta tester for Ziradia:
Matthew had a mix of emotions when he was accepted. One he was excited because by becoming a beta tester he could potentially advance his knowledge in gaming so he could become a game designer like he wanted to..on the other hand..he was nervous because he knew that he would have to get in front of people to talk about what could make the game better..that was going to be the real challenge.
Background in gaming:
Matthew has played almost every kind of game imaginable but his favorites by far are RPG's. He especially enjoys games like Skyrim and Fable where you can choose to do whatever you want and become whatever kind of person you want to be and the world shapes around you. He has played so many games he has lost track of all of them and it would be impossible for him to remember them all.

Unlike his real self in virtual reality he is much more confident. However he isn't arrogant or cocky by any means. He is a lot more sociable and finds it easier to be around others. He is always willing to help anyone at the drop of a pin but never does the wrong thing since he much prefers to play the good guy. To describe him in one word though as many people would say he would be the Hero of the game.
Combat Style:
In combat he likes to use a mix of approaches. He is quick witted and fast on his feet and likes to try and use the environment around him to his advantage. If he knows a fight is coming or is with others he will opt to stay in the back and use a bow to pick off his targets one by one. However when he is on his own he relies on his speed and his ability with the sword to fight better. If he is able he always chooses using a dual sword style rather then just a single sword. However if unavailable he will use only a single sword but never a shield since he finds it cumbersome and annoying.

General Play Style:
His general play style is to help others and be the support of a group he is in. He is what some people would call a trophy hunter. He prefers to stay in an area and make sure that everything it has to offer is finished before moving on to the next and if he finds out something about an area he has already been to he will return to it to figure out what is going on. He is also prefers to go into a situation with a plan and carefully plans out how he is going to deal with his missions in an order that makes the most sense and how he can get them done more quickly. However he is very good at improvising on the spot as well.​
