Roleplaying Universe!

marvel_movie_universe_by_superdude001-d56dd1e.png

Greetings true believers, and welcome to the Ultimate Marvel Roleplaying Universe. Or, "Earth-1212" if you want to get technical. This is a new style of super hero RP, taking the Marvel Universe and basically giving it a reboot of our own.

In the vast and unexplored regions of the Marvel multiverse, existing somewhere between Earth-616 (main Marvel-verse) and the "Ultimate Comics" Universe, lays a new and previously undiscovered world known as Earth-1212. This world is still relatively new and has yet to experience the thrills, chills, and exploits that it's fellow universes have gone through. However, its only a matter of time before the Heroes and Villains of this world dive right into the fray, challenging each other constantly for their own reasons.

There isn't really a solid story per say, but this RP will follow a series of linear stories based upon either original ideas, famous Marvel Comic's story arcs (such as the Superhero Registration Act, Days of Future Past, or House of M), or a combination of the two (instead of the Secret Wars being fought against other villains/heroes, its being fought against alternate reality versions of our characters). We'll be adding more story arcs to this page as the RP progresses, but generally they would follow the 3 act system of storytelling: The heroes/villains find out about the event, begin teaming up/jump into the situation, and the resolution that leads into the next big story arc. Inside of these major stories will be a group of smaller stories that will primarily be created from character interaction (example: During the "Brand New Day" story arc, Tony Stark decides to quit the Avengers and life as Iron Man, but eventually comes back when he realizes his teammates need him).

-------

We'll be accepting up to eight players. You may may have up to three characters (if you can handle it, that is). You are also allowed to play either a Hero, Villain, or somebody Walking the Line between Good and Evil.

We may be allowing more people to join later on, but 8 is our starting cut-off number.

1.) Peter Parker / Spider-Man - Sora1297

2.)
Steve Rogers / Captain America and Howard the D.U.C.C. - Razilin

3.) Laura Kinney / X-23 - Ravenbelle

4.) Erik Lensherr / Magneto - PastaSentient

5.) Tony Stark / Iron Man and Desiree Jordan / Mindfreak - SavMarie43

6.) Rachel Summers / Pheonix - Pepper

7). Frank Castle / The Punisher - BarrenThin

8). Janet van Dyne / The Wasp - Seeking Calliope

-------

Waiting List: For those who wish to join, but all spots are taken at the time.

1.) Reserved for - XxFalloutxX

2.)

3.)

4.)

5.)

6.)

7.)

8.)

-------

Those arcs highlighted in Green are completed, while those highlighted in Red are the arc we're currently doing, and those highlighted in Yellow are arcs we haven't gotten to yet, but are planning for the future or are up next.

Footnote: Each page we reach in the IC counts as an "Issue" for the story arc (ex. If it takes 12 pages to finish the first story, then that story will be comprised of issues 1-12. The next issue will start at 12 and begin the cycle again)

Name:

Peter Richard Parker

Alias:

Incredible Sensational Ultimate Bombastic Superior Ultimate Traditional Radical Unlimited Avenging Exceptional Extraordinary

The "Amazing" Spider-Man

Hero, Walking-the-line, or Villain:

Hero, bordering Vigilante status. Peter is also considered a "menace" by the Media thanks to the suspicious nature of his actions.

Age:

17

Background and Hero/Villain Origins:

~~~~~~~~ Peter's Life ~~~~~~~~
Peter Parker was born and raised in New York City. He had a normal childhood growing up until he turned 4, when he discovered somebody apparently had broken into his home. His father, Richard, had been working on some kind of research dealing with spiders for the past four years, but he always warned Peter that his work could make bad men show up. He told Peter never to let them near his work and didn't even allow Peter to glance at his progress, despite his love of science and learning. Upon discovering the break in, his father quickly collected the notes in his office and destroyed any evidence of his research. Peter's mother, grabbed Peter's things quickly and retrieved a special suitcase she had made for her and Richard if they needed a quick getaway. They soon drove to the residence of Peter's Uncle Ben and Aunt May, who lived in a townhouse located in Forest Hills, Queens. Shortly after arriving, Peter was left with his godparents while he watched Richard and Mary drive off into the rain. Later that month, it was reported that both of Peter's parents had died in a plane crash, making Peter now officially an orphan. Peter still doesn't quite understand why they left, but assumes it had something to do with his father's work at OSCORP. However, his Uncle Ben and Aunt May did their best to act like good parents/guardians and did a fine job of raising him. Unfortunately for Peter, Uncle Ben was shot and killed in July 2012, nearly weeks after he had been bitten by the radioactive spider. But, that's a longer story I'll save for next time because we all know it.
Peter wasn't the most popular kid when it came to school, but he wasn't a nerd either. He fell into his own sort of social group along with his other friends which they decided to call "Inbetweeners", meaning they weren't popular, but they also weren't outcasts. He has a small circle of friends he really trusts that have been with him since he was 6 years old. They all had various interests and opinions on certain things, but somehow they worked well as friends. Together they formed a sort of odd friendship that most people would think was absolutely strange. They all had their places in the group: there was the "pretty one", the "super nerd", the "sports enthusiast", and so on. Peter fell into the category of the "smart-ass" for his opinionated views and takes on various things. Plus, Peter had always been able to make humorous remarks about almost everything, so it seemed fair to give him a new trait category.
Peter attends Midtown Highschool. His strong suits are the Sciences (a trait he apparently inherited from his father), English, Math and Drama. What he fails at, unfortunately, is anything involving strenuous physical activity, or violence. Mostly, this pertains to Gym Class. Peter is able to keep up with everyone else, sure, but he's defiantly not the most active kid at school. If you had to rank him on a scale of 1-100 for how physically fit he was, Peter would fall somewhere into the 20-30 range. Peter has virtually no upper or lower body strength, making tasks like carrying heavy objects difficult for him. He's been trying to beef up not only for himself, but also to impress girls. Unfortunately after an incident in which the bar was quite literately "dropped" (right onto his chest), Peter gym membership was taken away and he was told to stick to jogging instead.
Sometimes stuff goes right for him, sometimes things don't. He's just your average teenage guy with spider-like superpowers trying to make it in the Big Apple.
~~~~~~~~ Origin Story ~~~~~~~~

On a personal trip to the OSCORP building in New York to try and learn more about a man his father had worked with, Dr. Curtis Connors, Peter found himself essentially breaking into a room shrouded in a mysterious blue light. Inside of the room, was some kind of device he could only assume was monitoring a genetically modified spider breeding program. The spider's, which he had previously learned about from investigating his father's work (and by looking at old photos, helping him to recognize the breed when he saw it), had been gifted with extraordinary abilities far beyond those of their arachnid brothers and sisters. However, he accidentally disrupted the program and the artificially created web fluid holding the spider's retracted into the ceiling and a barrage of the creepy-crawlies fell right onto poor Peter. Desperately swiping them off and onto the floor, Peter's panicked state forced him to miss one of the spider's, which bit the back of his neck shortly afterwards. He soon left the blue room, where he encountered Gwen Stacy, who worked as an OSCORP intern at the time. Promptly, he was asked by her to leave the OSCORP building, as he had stolen a name tag to be used by Rodrigo Guevara.

During his subway ride home, Peter was pestered by some unpleasant folk. He already hadn't been feeling good, but one of the men decided to place his beer upon the sleeping teenager's head. Promptly after, a series of events occurred where Peter discovered he had inherited strange and frightening abilities. After he returned to his Uncle and Aunt's house, Peter commented on how he wasn't feeling well and spent the night dealing with horrific hot-flashes and symptoms of venom poisoning. The next day, he promptly Googled his symptoms and various types of spider-bites to see what the damage could be. However, his search came up fruitless and he eventually discovered his newfound power's had no negative side-effects (aside from having to deal with his newfound strength, sticking hands, and of course, that weird tingling feeling in the back of his head whenever he was about to be hit with a dodgeball in gym class). A year later, Peter found an old abandoned subway station where his father apparently hid videotapes concerning his disappearance and the work he was doing for OSCORP at the time. The genetically modified spider's were created and infused with Richard Parker's DNA, meaning that only those in his gene pool could successfully modify the spider's. This also explained why Peter's transformation into Spider-Man had been successful, whereas using the same formula, Dr. Connors was transformed into the terrifying Lizard.

Shortly after his uncle Ben was killed by a mugger, Peter donned a vigilante's outfit (comprised of a red mask, sunglasses, and civilian clothes) to track down the thug. Eventually, he found the man responsible, but not before the infamous "Carnage Killer", Cletus Kassidy, got to him years later. While searching for the mugger however, Peter designed himself a proper suit and became the web-slinging superhero known as Spider-Man. Why did he do this? For uncle Ben. Uncle Ben always said to Peter: "with great power, comes great responsibility". Now that he was gifted with an amazing power, Peter knew that he was meant to protect New York from its seedy underbelly, searching out and thwarting crimes wherever he went: not because it was his right or duty, but because it was his responsibility as a superhero.

Powers/Abilities:

Wall climbing, web slinging via web cartridges and web shooters, enhanced speed, agility, strength and eyesight. He also harnesses a "Spider-Sense" ability that allows him to detect whenever danger is near or something is wrong in his surroundings.

On top of being able to fire webs from his web shooters, his body can also produce natural webbing that is about 10X stronger then the artificial stuff, but he rarely uses it for two important reasons:

1. It requires him to squeeze down on his wrist with his other hand, applying pressure depending on how far he wants the webs to go. On top of the pressure, he needs to continuously press down in order to keep the webs coming.

2. The webs that are produced naturally come directly from an area in his wrists (like the way they were produced in the 1st Spider-Man movie) and as they are fired, they cause a massive burning and painful sensation in his wrist which usually drains him of energy.

He only uses his natural webs when needed (ex. Pinning down the Hulk or gargantuan villains so they can't squash the Spider, creating an extreme durable temporary shield that will hold a falling building so he can try to rescue as many of its residents as possible).

Weaknesses/Tragic Flaw:

Bullets, Knives, Mind Control, Having his power's sucked from his body, Explosions, and pretty much anything that would kill a normal human being. He's also a bit of a cocky kid as he's not properly gotten the hang of being a superhero just yet. His wise ass remarks normally get himself and those he cares for (of his teammates) into trouble, but aside from that he's not immune to anything (except maybe small doses of radiation)

Hero/Villain Relationships:

None really, but as of a year ago, he's been invited to join some kind of super-secret Boy-Band by the current SHIELD director known as "The Avengers". Peter prefers working alone, however. At the present time, he doesn't want to join up.

He's also getting close with a younger girl named Laura Kinney, who he first met as Peter Parker when doing a report on prostitution in Manhattan. He met her a second time as Spider-Man after the club owner reported a disturbance with some local gangs. He occasionally pops by the club she works at as Peter and gives her shawarma. After hearing what she's been through, he figured she needed a friend (or at least somebody to vent to).

Occupation:

High School student, but works as a freelance reporter and website designer for the Daily Bugle (despite their Anti-Spider-Man views).

Other:

• Peter normally has contact lens, but often chooses to just wear his bulky prescription glasses.

• In a sheer act of boredom one day, Peter invented his own theme song, which he has spread around the city thanks to his secret identity.

• Spider-Man also may have some supporters across the city, but for the most part, people hate his guts. Even after he got a job taking photographs of Spider-Man for a newspaper called the Daily Bugle, he received more hard-on press coverage, calling Spidey a "menace to the city". Despite all the hate he gets, Peter still finds reason (most of the time) to protect the people of New York and ensure their safety against super villains and criminals.

CHU-CHUNK (shotgun cocking and handling sound).

"Now then, are we gonna cause 'nother issue or is we gon' cooperate now?" The armoured thug asked as he held the shotgun at the bank manager. "Whus the combination on da security system?"

The terrified balding man shook with fear and began to cry. "T-The c-combination I-is... 3..8..5...6...4...2...9.." he cried out in between terrified gasps. "N-Now p-please... L-let us... G-g-go.."

The armoured thug looked at his associates, who nodded and let out a laugh. The thug pointed his shotgun into the air and fired off a warning shot, which was followed by the screams of many terrified citizens who were held hostage during the bank robbery. "ALRIGHT!!" he yelled, "AIN'T NOBODY TRY SOMETHING FUNNY, OTHERWISE YOU'S ALL GON' DIE!! GOTS IT?!?" The horrified crowd of bankers, customers and children nodded silently as the echoes of the shotgun still rung in the hollowed ceiling. The thug motioned for one of his companions to enter the combination into the keypad and with many loud clicking sounds, the massive metallic door swung open and exposed the approximate $12,000,000 in cash that rest inside the bank.

"We're rich, Scruff!!" one of the criminals exclaimed with a cheer and a holler as she grabbed a gym bag they had brought, starting to fill it with money. Scruff and the others stayed behind to watch the hostages and prevent them from trying anything funny. Just as Scruff was about to reload after the warning shot, he noticed a bizarrely horrified look on the bank manager's face. As if getting robbed wasn't enough to make the frail old man frightened, now he looked as if he had seen a ghost. "EH?! WHAT'RE YOU'S STARIN AT, FOUR-EYES?" Scruff shouted at the man before he heard it.

RATTATATATATATATATAATATATATA!

"SON OF A-AAAAAAGH!"

THIWP-THWIP-THWIP!

"NUFF! MIIMRRMUN'S HRR!!" (muffled for "Scruff! Spider-Man's here!"

Scruff turned around and looked at the man who had rushed into the vault. He was now strung up and muffled by what appeared to be webs. Having seen this type of object before, Scruff realized almost instantly who the puke green webs belonged to. "THE SPIDER'S HERE!!" Scruff yelled, aiming his gun towards the roof. "HE'S LURKING AROUND SOMEWHERE IN THE SHADOW'S! FIND 'IM, AND KILL 'IM!!" The others nodded their heads as they went in search of the Web-Slinger. To ensure himself with extra protection, Scruff ran over to the bank manager and grabbed him by his shirt, aiming the gun at his head. "GET OUT NOW, SPIDER! YOU'S GOT NO BUSINESS HERE! IF ANY OF MY MEN SEE OR HEARS YOU, THEN THE OLD MAN GETS IT!

Great... Thank you so much, Parker Luck. Peter thought as he looked down at the crime scene from the shadows of the roof. The 17 year old superhero shook his head in annoyance as he slowly crawled along the roof. fired a web towards the thug directly below him and strung him up like the others, muffling him before he could scream. Alright, the big one has a shotgun... He's obviously the leader and by far the most dangerous person in this room... Aside from me. He's scared, so I can use that to my advantage. The only thing I have to worry about aside from being shot, is the personal hostage. I'll take out his buddies silently, then save the old guy, then go for him. If playing all those Assassin's Creed games has taught me anything, its that darkness combined with good stealth skills, makes a powerful weapon against your enemies... And they say video games don't reach people stuff. Ha! Peter nodded as he thought of his plan and slowly crept along the walls of the bank, moving closer to another thug before he strung her up like her buddies. During this time, Scruff backed up into the vault and seemingly forced the old man to pack the money for him. Spider-Man continued to cycle around the room and pick off the thugs, quickly zipping out of sight when somebody saw him. The second time this happened, the thug shouted and Scruff fired his shotgun as a warning. Spidey quickly directed his attention into the vault at Scruff to make sure he hadn't killed the manager. Thankfully, he didn't, but it was clear Scruff was terrified. Spider-Man knew that Scruff was a thief, not a murderer. If he could play to this weakness, then Scruff might go willingly. If not... Then things might get complicated.

After Spidey finally strung up the last of the thugs, Scruff looked around the room and saw his friends had been all been abducted. Immediately, the thug panicked. Adjusting the shotgun so it was positioned at the old man's left temple, Scruff shouted "SPIDER!!! YOU COME ANYWHERE NEAR ME AND I'LL SHOOT! HIS BLOOD WILL BE ON YOUR HANDS!" His eyes darted around the room, desperately looking for wherever Spider-Man may have crawled. Little did he know, Spidey was positioned on the wall a few feet behind him. "HERE'S HOW ITS GONNA WORK: YOU'S GONNA LET MY BOYS GO, THEN ESCORT US OUTTA HERE! I'M NOT GOING BACK TO JAIL 'CUZ OF YOU!" Scruff continued shouting, still looking around. As his eyes landed on the wall behind him, Spidey had already flung himself back to the roof. Scruff's face was now getting red from fear and panic, a factor which Spider-Man knew would make him more dangerous. A desperate man could do unspeakable things to get his way. "SAY SOMETHING, SPIDER!"

"CROTCH!" Spidey replied, kicking himself off of the wall and opening his legs to wrap around Scruff's head. The thug shouted in fear and reacted too late. By the time he had aimed his shotgun at Spider-Man, the hero already had a tight leg-grip on his neck. Ripping the gun away from Scruff, Spider-Man heaved with all his strength and pulled himself backwards, forcing Scruff into a downwards spiral. The force of his pull was so powerful, it flipped Scruff onto his back in mid air, forcing him to land with a loud thud. As the dazed thug lay on his back paralyzed in shock from the attack, Spidey didn't hesitate to act. Clicking away at his Web-Shooters, Spidey began spraying Scruff to the floor with webbing.

When he regained himself both physically and mentally from the attack, Scruff struggled to free himself from the webs, but to no avail. "AAAGHHHH!! SOMEBODY HELP
ME! GET AWAY! THIS GUY'S NUTS!!"
Scruff yelled as Spider-Man started to go around and check on the hostages. With a fake gasp of surprise, Spider-Man ran over to the criminal and began caressing his face. "Shhh, shhh. Don't cry little baby... Look, Uncle Spidey found your pacifier." he whispered in a mocking tone. In a lighting quick motion, he fired a web at the man's mouth and muffled his cries for help. Spidey then reached into his utility belt and pulled out a small knife. Poking a hole in the webbing around Scruff's mouth, he felt a small blast of air as the thug began breathing rapidly again.

"That takes care of that.." Spider-Man said to himself as he shoved the knife back into its portable state, then shoved it into his belt. Spidey looked towards the bank owner and nodded his head. "I think that takes care of your problem then, sir. Go ahead and alert the authorities, the web's will hold these guys for about an hour." Spidey explained before he gave a small wave and started to run off. The bank manager, however, got up and ran over to Spider-Man, still shaking with fear from the events prior. Flagging down the webhead, the bank manager took the masked hero's hand and shook it vigorously, smiling. "Thank you Spider-Man... If it weren't for you, those ruffians would've gotten away and we all might have been dead right now."

Spidey shook his head and gave the man a pat on the back before he fired two webs close to the open window he had entered from. The man watched him with an awe stricken expression, before Spider-Man proudly chimed out "Think nothing of it, sir. Just another good-deed from your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man!" Tipping an imaginary hat, he backed up, using the webs as a slingshot and launched himself out of the window. Flying into the busy streets of New York, he aimed at a nearby building and fired another strand. As he swung into the afternoon air, he heard a roar of applause coming from the bank. With a sigh, he smiled contently under his mask. Another job well done, Spidey. Now then... Where's a good place to have lunch in the Bronx? Peter thought as he swung off into New York City, his stomach growling from a hard day's work.

THE LEADER

Leader7.gif

Name: Samuel Sterns

Alias(es): The Leader

Hero, Walking-the-line, or Villain: Villain, but completely willing to work with heroes when his goals align with theirs.

Age: 50

Villain Origins: Before there was the Leader, there was Sam Sterns: an unskilled laborer and high school dropout. He found employment at a chemical research plant where one night his life was changed forever. He was moving canisters of hazardous waste when one of them cracked open, bathing him in what should have been a lethal dose of gamma radiation.

Instead, he was transformed. He discovered that his brain retained information with perfect accuracy and clarity. He began reading voraciously, accumulating as much knowledge as he possibly could. However, his skin began to turn green. Not a sickly, pale green, but GREEN. His cranium began to expand to accommodate his expanding knowledge. Samuel Sterns was dead. In his place was something more than human. In his place was the Leader.

Leader8.gif

As the subsequent year went on he reached new heights of scientific genius and discovery. However, the unrivaled intellect of the Leader does not come without responsibility. The world was rotten and in need of fixing; a conundrum only he could solve. It was only proper that he began seeding the powerful organizations of the world with his agents, creating an extensive spy ring with designs to conquer the United States and, ultimately, earth.

Powers/Abilities: Super Intelligence - "The Leader has superhuman mental acumen. He possesses enhanced intuition, pattern solving, information storage and retrieval, and logical and philosophical structuring. The potential of his intelligence is nearly unlimited. It is assumed (in theory) he is capable of knowledge and comprehension above and beyond the normal human spectrum of thought. He is potentially capable of mastering every worldly subject and capable of adopting concepts completely foreign to his environment. His ability to predict probable outcomes of tactical and strategic scenarios is so advanced that it borders on clairvoyance. His intuition is heightened to the degree that his hunches are almost always correct. The Leader has a perfect memory with the ability to recall every moment since the accident that gave him his powers." "[He] is self-taught to the equivalent of doctorate level in most sciences."

Leader5.gif

Resources: The Leader has access to an abundance of highly advanced androids, robots, vehicles, weapons, and other devices of his own invention. He is the leader of an extensive spy ring with various agents at his beck and call.

Weaknesses/Tragic Flaw: Excepting radiation (even extraordinarily high doses), the Leader is vulnerable to the same things a normal human is and although his powers allow him to create advanced weaponry they are not directly combat oriented. Nor do they directly provide him with a means of enhanced survival. Outsmarting the Leader is a fool's errand (usually), but he can be overpowered.

Hero/Villain Relationships: Remains to be seen. May be updated before the roleplay as more people choose characters.

Personality: The Leader, unsurprisingly, is a megalomaniac given to displays of his power and intellect. A powerful and curious mind, he has a thirst for knowledge not easily sated.

Leader1lessbigger.jpg

Sample Post: The Leader worked tirelessly on his latest invention, aided by worker-bots and floating helper drones. This would be his first humanoid, designed to flexibly disperse kinetic energy and survive extreme projectiles and punches unharmed. Even so, it would have incredible strength. If tests on this prototype were successful, perhaps he would-

"Leader!" interrupted a subordinate. The Leader turned to face his minion.

"I hope this was urgent," he replied bitterly.

"Yes sir. One of our drones has found a lone super in the forest. He has the abilities you were looking for," explained the minion.

For a split second the Leader mulled this over. "Very well, thank you for informing me," said the Leader in what passed for a reassuring tone.

He made his way through his facility, passing various soldiers, agents, and machines hurriedly going about their business according to the orders he'd given. This was many feet below the ground, where plate metal was bolted over the dug-out walls, floors, and ceilings. Wires, pipes, railings, cameras, and machines which to the untrained eye had no apparent use adorned the hallways.

At last, the Leader made it to the monitor room. A wall of television screens displayed his newest subject trying to start a fire, unaware that he was being watched by a drone.

"Now, let's see what we can learn," said the Leader, grinning slightly and crossing his arms behind his back.

Name: Laura Sarah Kinney
"You want me to express myself? Leave Me Alone!"
Alias:
X-23
Hero, Walking-the-line, or Villain: Walking-the-Line
Age: 16 years old
Appearance: Laura is 5'3 and probably still growing. She has shoulder-blade length dark hair and usually cold hazel eyes. They can look greenish in sunlight. She has a healthy, athletic build and is usually seen wearing combat boots and lots of black.
tumblr_ms6370ureq1rpwwe9o1_500.jpg

Superhero/villain Origins:
To start with Laura's story, it is best to start with her mother, Sarah Kinney. A scientist working for the latest incarnation of Weapon X, she was tasked with creating a clone of their arguably most powerful invention - Wolverine. This time, however, they wanted him controllable. Seeking to take the project in a new direction, the project's director, Doctor Martin Sutter, recruited renowned mutant geneticist Doctor Sarah Kinney and tasked her with creating a clone. The cloning process failed, over and over again, until Sarah noticed one thing happening when the clone was attempted - the Y chromosomes were interacting poorly with the process. When that chromosome was removed entirely from the process, it succeeded. That marked her 23rd try. But they needed a human to carry the cloned fetus. Sarah Kinney volunteered, and carried X-23 to term.Without the Y chromosome, however, the new clone was born a female, named with the designation of 'X-23'. Her early life was far, far different than most. She was treated as an animal. By the time she could talk, she was bombarded with languages and schooling, and from the time she could walk, taught how to fight. Most of her martial arts training was under a man known only as 'Sensei'. When she wasn't being trained, exercised, or fed, she was kept in a featureless metal room, and those around her were ordered not to interact with her.
X-23_2.jpg
That wasn't to say people didn't bend the rules somewhat. Sarah, having a bit of conflicting motherly feelings for the girl, would often sneak in and read bedtime stories to the girl, and X-23's Sensei taught, and spoke to her only in Japanese, and would generally, through language alone, treat her like a human being instead of the cold, impersonal language he was ordered to use.The Company did not approve. But their disapproval would wait for later. Once X-23 was around eight years of age, in fact, they grew impatient of waiting for their 'new weapon'. So Doctor Zander Rice had X-23 subjected to radiation poisoning in order to accelerate the activation of her mutant gene to see if she did follow in her 'father's' footsteps. Sarah viciously disapproved, but it was done anyway.
Luckily for X-23 and Sarah, Laura survived the process, following along with her genetic donor's powerset to gain regeneration, and claws. The feminine aspect to her genetic manipulation made for an odd setting of claws, however - one in each foot, and only two in each hand. All the while, Weapon X was developing a 'trigger scent' to infuriate the girl, using associative psychological techniques to let the scent spark a rage in her.The first trial of it was on her Sensei. Having known that he was disobeying their orders to treat her like a thing, they had her kill him, then brought in a new trainer/handler. Kimura. An invincible woman, she could not be cut by Laura's claws. Her training continued. When she was far too young for such things, about 12 years old, they started sending her upon missions. Her first was the assassination of a high-profile politician. Greg Johnson. That was just the start. Sending her on increasingly higher and higher risk missions, members of the project started seeing the ability to use X-23 for their own monetary gain. Rice manipulated her the most. Subjecting her to the adamantium process at the age of eleven. He wanted to torment and torture the young girl, and when Sarah realized that Rice was starting to use the trigger scent to send X-23 to kill his higher-ups so that he could take charge of the project, she panicked.
Rice even abandoned X-23 on a particularly dangerous mission, but she survived against overwhelming odds and managed to return to the facility. Ultimately, Rice persuaded Sutter to hand over control of the program to him, then secretly ordered X-23 to kill Sutter and his family. Later, Rice revealed to Sarah Kinney a chamber with dozens of incubation pods containing female clones before he fired her. Before fleeing the facility with X-23, Kinney gave her one last mission - destroy the pods and kill Rice. She succeeded, but Rice was able to exact revenge on Kinney from beyond the grave. X-23 discovered, too late, that the trigger scent had been used on Sarah - she was the next target. Flying into a rage, she murdered her mother figure. Another little piece of her died. Searching Sarah's body, she discovered a letter to her that gave her a name. Laura.

X-23 surfaced in New York City two years later and was found living on the streets by a pimp named Zebra Daddy, who took her in and employed her as a prostitute. During her time as a prostitute, X-23 seemed to suffer from a self-mutilating disorder. She superficially cut herself with her own claws whenever she was alone and in emotional distress. She also seemed to suffer some personality issues which left her mostly mute and unable to free herself from the grip of Zebra Daddy. X-23 started to come to her senses after she met Kiden Nixon, a young mutant with the ability to freeze time when in danger, and together with Kiden's teacher, they rescued another young mutant, the feral Catiana, from an angry mob. Zebra Daddy tracked X-23 down, but with the aid of her new friends and the mutant named Felon, Zebra Daddy's thugs were defeated. X-23 then killed him to save the lives of her friends. After her mutant friends left together to find a safer place away from New York, X-23 later took a job at the mutant-themed Wannabees nightclub in New York.

Powers:
  1. Regeneration: Sharing in her "father's" ability, Laura has enhanced regeneration. It works fairly fast, with minor cuts clotting and closing up in seconds. More major cuts and flesh wounds heal in minutes, and things like broken bones mend themselves in about 10 minutes depending on the injuries.
  2. Foreign Chemical Immunity: X-23's natural healing also gives her the virtual immunity to poisons and most drugs.
  3. Disease Immunity: Due to her highly efficient immune system, X-23 is immune to all Earthly diseases and infections.
  4. Superhuman Acute Senses: X-23 possesses incredibly enhanced senses that are comparable to those of certain animals. She is able to see at much farther distances, and with near perfect clarity, than an ordinary human. She retains this same level of clarity in almost complete darkness. Her sense of hearing is enhanced in a similar manner, allowing her to both hear sounds that ordinary human's can't and to hear sounds that ordinary humans can, but at much greater distances. X-23 is able to use her highly developed sense of smell to track targets by scent with an impressive degree of success, even if the scent has been eroded by natural factors, such as the weather.
  5. Superhuman Stamina: X-23's muscles produce a considerably less amount of fatigue toxins during physical activity than the muscles of an average human. She can exert herself at peak capacity for about 24 hours before fatigue begins to set in.
  6. Superhuman Agility and Reflexes: X-23's agility, reflexes, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of even the most accomplished human athlete.
  7. Enhanced Strength: Laura enjoys the blessing of enhanced strength. While not nearly as powerful as Wolverine, she is getting stronger and stronger as she grows older. This helps her to jump higher, run a fair bit faster, and lift far more weight than her build and gender would suggest. If she wanted to push the limits of her ability, she could bench press about 500 pounds - but would feel far more comfortable carrying and pushing about 350.
  8. Claws: A pair claws in each hand, and a one in each foot. The claws are about eight inches in length in her hands, and about six to seven inches in her feet, curved at one end, and retractable, going back into or out of her arms or feet as she needs them. They've been coated in Adamantium, something the rest of her skeleton hasn't been subjected to. Let's hope they never get a chance to finish the job.
Weaknesses:
  1. Broken bones can set in the wrong place. For example, if she has broken ribs that have been moved or jarred around, they will heal themselves too quickly and may end up crooked or in the wrong place. In that case, she would have to re-break them and set them appropriately so they can heal again. Her regenerative power can be overloaded, perhaps by being shot many, many times in a short period of time. When that happens, she loses consciousness, and drops into a fugue until her body stabilizes itself, and heals any major organ damage that occurs. The drawbacks to this power aren't too many, but she does tend to eat a heck of a lot more than your average person, particularly if this system was given a workout.
  2. She can be affected by some drugs, such as tranquilizers, if she is exposed to an extremely large dose.
5. If her stamina is used to the max for more than 24 hours and she does not collapse out of exhaustion, her muscles will most likely be very sore byt he time she sleeps and wakes again.

8. Because of these razor-sharp claws, getting through metal detectors at airports and the like is a real pain, and each time they cut through her skin when she 'draws' them, it stings.

9. Also, because of the adamantium in her hands and feet, she cannot swim very well at all. But she can sink. Not good.

Induced Berserker Rage: She has also been subjected to conditioning in which a specific "trigger scent" has been used to send her into a berserker rage, killing anything in sight. This can be seen as a strength or a weakness, depending on what side of things you're on. Very few things short of knocking her out can snap her out of this state while the scent is around, so she can hardly control herself and is not conscious of her actions. As a result, she is usually bombarded by intense feelings of guilt after this rage wears off.

Abilities:
  • Can speak English French and Japanese, fluently. May be able to speak others, but with much less mastery.
  • X-23 is an expert tracker. Because of her enhanced sense of smell she can track almost anything and anyone, and has memorized many different scents.
  • Raised in captivity, due to her extensive training as a top-secret operative, X-23 has been trained to become a living weapon. She is highly trained in the use of long range weapons and explosives, and is an expert in assassination techniques.
  • She is excellent at hand to hand combatant, with intensive training in numerous armed and unarmed martial arts techniques.
Hero/Villain Relationships: Laura would say that Peter Parker is becoming an acquaintance of hers, but it's not like she knows much about him and she distances herself too much to ever actually trust him. Or well, anyone for that matter.

Occupation: Bartender and Waitress at Wannabees.

Sample Post:
X-23 sat kneeling beside her mother's dead body. She had given up now on any sort of treatment to save her. It was impossible. The teenager had seen red and simply attacked without even thinking. Without a second thought, she had ferociously ripped her heart up with her own bloody claws. And it wasn't just her claws that were bloody. Having just murdered an entire facility full of people who had wronged her, she was splattered with blood from head to toe. None of it was hers. But suddenly, two tracks clear of blood began to form on her cheeks. Tears were cutting through the bloody path. Oh how long has it been since she cried? It was building...this well of misery and hatred and fear and confusion! A myriad of feelings she never under stood. Not until now. Until she reluctantly searched her mother's bloody carcass or something, anything that would tell her what to do now. Even now that she was free (and alone) she wanted orders to follow. Because it was all she knew.
The brown eyes of the woman who had conceived her were no longer warm and sweet, the way she remembered them when the woman would sneak into her cell and read her stories. hey were cold and lifeless. And it was her who had done that. X-23 was shaking when she found a piece of paper in her pocket. She opened it immediately, hoping for something to help her. Hope. That was also foreign. She had never hoped like this before. Before she realized that her entire life was nothing but an experiment. A lie. A means to gain money.
She began to read.
Please forgive me. Even as I write the words, they ring so hollow. My mistakes... no, my choices... they cannot be undone, much less forgiven. How all this came to pass... and the truth about Weapon X. Had it ended there, would I be less of a monster? Or more? Would I even know the difference? Of course I don't have to tell you about monsters. Your life is defined by monsters. Replicating the mutant genome proved difficult... but rebuilding Weapon X seemed all but impossible. For every enzyme, for ever codon, for every sequence we repaired, or even built back from near nothingness, we seemed to be missing a million more. But I felt alive. The work, the failure, the challenge. It was like a brilliant light, shining inside me. I felt... like my life had a purpose. What a fool I was. I was defiant in the face of my failures. I was determined to succeed out of spite. Weeks passed. I was working on two projects, living two lives. I was used to that. I had kept secrets before. It seems so incredible to me now, that in all that time, given everything that I knew... what I was doing and what the end result would bear... I didn't give it a second thought. I told myself that you weren't real. I told myself that this was science... not life. I was creating a weapon... not a child. I was wrong. When I was little, I always believed that everything that happened to me-- I deserved. That we all get what we deserve. Maybe I was right. No longer the experimenter, I was now part of the experiment. A vessel to be poked and prodded. To be violated. They certainly didn't care about me... not with a weapon to train. A team of physicians, psychologists, nutritionists, and military strategists now ran my life. They watched my every move... but they didn't see everything. I asked you for forgiveness before. Now I'm telling you... don't forgive me. Don't ever forgive any of us for what we did. Ever.I remember everything... everything we did to you... and you deserve to know why we did these things. Your training was designed to strip you of your humanity. After all, in the eyes of the Program, you weren't human... you were a weapon. A weapon I willingly conceived for them. Our orders were to keep you from gaining any sense of self... something they said would compromise our ability to control you. We were never to treat you as a child, only as a weapon... but not everyone followed those orders... I'm grateful for that... Sutter wanted to complete your construction... but that wasn't possible while your healing factor was dormant. You would never survive the surgery... so, Rice was given permission to take whatever steps necessary to activate your X-gene. He chose radiation poisoning. You nearly died that day. Unfortunately, Rice was right. The radiation worked. Now, nothing stood in their way... especially me. I only found out later what happened... that your claws were extracted one by one... that he sharpened, then coated them with the indestructible metal, adamantium, outside of your body. It was never supposed to be like that. So much wasn't. I should have known what was coming... not that I could have prevented it... but I would have tried. I'm sorry... so sorry...When it was time for your first field test... the target was chosen with the flip of a coin. Who it was didn't matter. As long as the target was "high profile"... and couldn't be gotten to. Sutter needed to make a statement. And you delivered it to the world. I wanted to understand why we were doing this. I told Martin I needed to understand... why you had to publicly kill an innocent man, his family and so many others. So, he told me... he said, it's simple. You can't sell anything... without advertising. That's what this was all about. The buying and selling of lives for profit. Not saving the world, or taking it over. No, this was about money. A lot of it. Martin sold you for a million dollars a pound... and as you know by now, there was no shortage of buyers. Rice was right. I didn't matter. Not to them. Not to you. Not to anyone. All I could do was watch. While you were forced to kill... and kill... and kill... and kill... you killed royalty. Godfathers. Drug lords. Dictators. Assassins. Anyone... everyone... for a price. For three long years, you murdered without fail. Every target they marked, you killed. Every time limit they set, you beat. Every rendezvous point they plotted, you reached... except one... the one where Rice was waiting for you. When Rice came back from the mission, he told us what happened. He said... that you didn't make the rendezvous in time. That he had to abort the mission when the team started taking fire. And that he saw you die. But I didn't want to believe him. You never told me what happened. How you survived, or how you made your way back. Why didn't you tell me? For so long, I held myself above Sutter and Rice. They made you a killer. They were the ones using you. But all it took was one phone call to open my eyes and see... I was just like them. They say in life that we are judged by the choices we make... they are what define us... I chose to bring you into this world. I chose to stay in the program even after they stripped you of your humanity... and molded you into a weapon. I'm responsible for everything that has happened... for all the pain... all the death... for everything you have suffered... because I had a choice... when you had none. And I chose to do nothing. I always assumed it was Rice that cut you. He hurt you so many times in the past... he almost killed you twice... I never wanted to believe... that it was you. The damage I've done... I can never forgive myself. You couldn't stop what Rice made you do... but somehow you managed to save Henry and tell me the truth... which means there is hope... you showed me we failed... you are not a weapon... you are a child. Always remember you are not to blame. You did not pick this life. We... I forced it upon you. The blood you have spilled is on my hands, not yours... and please understand why I must ask you to kill one last time. Because tonight, what you do is right. Tonight, what you serve is justice. Tonight, you take back the life we stole from you.I never wanted a family. My father stripped me of that desire. He took my childhood... my innocence... my life... and then I took yours. I became what I hated and feared most... and you became my victim. But then you showed me hope. Not when you saved Megan, but when you saved Henry. You showed me that we can choose to be something other than what we have been forced to be... that we can be something better than what we believe we are. And, in that moment, you saved my life. All that matters to me now is that I save yours. I wish we could just run away without anymore bloodshed... but if I don't stop them, they will never stop. They will do it again. They've already started. After tonight, we'll just keep moving and never look back. We'll start a new life... have a future... be a family. I'm sorry I waited so long to tell you these things. There is so much more I want to tell you, and I will... but one thing that you must always remember... no matter what has happened... and no matter what may come... you are a child, not a weapon. You are my child. You are my daughter... and I love you. I will always love you, Laura.

X-23 folded up the letter swiftly, for by now she was full out sobbing, a rare occurrence for her. She wouldn't allow the precious letter to be soiled by her tears There in the snowy field stained crimson here and there, X-23 wept like the child Sarah had realized she was. She shook and held onto the stiff body she had removed the life from. Wails of misery coupled with what could have been thousands of other terrible emotions that ripped through her echoed from her throat until it was raw. Her mind was reeling at what she had read nonstop over and over again until she couldn't take it anymore. Sarah Kinney, the lady who had brought her into this world of white walls and crystal tears had wanted to be so kind to her for so long. She even named her! And now...she's dead. Because of what they did to her! She's a monster! How could her mother think she was anything but?! X-23 screamed into the night, breath white in the cool air. They were agonized screeches that were the only way to express the tearing feeling inside of her. And she never allowed herself to feel so much?! Though the only way for her to be murdered was decapitation, this emotional torture felt like more than enough to make her drop dead beside the mother she could have had. She craved revenge, but the one who had killed her was herself. She gasped for breath, heaving and holding her mother so tight it might have cracked a bone or two. She had been so close to a chance at happiness. So close to warmth and smiles and a place far far away from anyone who wanted to take advantage of her skill set. But she literally beat that chance to the ground and tore up its heart. Though she had saved the lives of her Aunt and Uncle, Megan and Henry, she had too much blood on her hands, metaphorically and literally, to feel any of the joy that came with that. Despite what her mother had written for her, Laura did the only thing she felt she could at the moment.
"I'm s-sorry. I-I forgive y-you..."

Looks great! It's really late where I'm at so I'll put up a CS tomorrow. Greatly interested.

Two questions. One, how much can you change these characters in terms of age/gender/etc?

Also, I'm partial either to a young Magneto or some variation of Iron Fist. Which might work best for what y'all have in mind?

I'm not the OP, but I think those would both be fine. I think we're allowed to reboot the characters as radically as we need to. I don't want to give too much input until we get Sora's word on the matter or we see what other new players choose. Also, check out the interest check thread.

Yeah we're allowed to tweak the story however we want, but try to stick to the original source material as as a reference if you can.

And both characters are fine by me!

CAPTAIN AMERICA

Name:
Steven Rogers, Capt.

Age: 30
Background: Captain Rogers is the legendary Captain America, hero of World War II. Frozen in cryogenic sleep after defeating the Red Skull in 1945, he was revived through SHIELD technology and offered the chance to continue to fight against evil as one of the agents. An increasingly more politically active Col. Nick Fury recognized that, as SHIELD director, his ability to manipulate events is limited by his high profile position. He eventually offers Rogers the directorship of SHIELD, knowing that the legendary war hero is both a inspiration to the troops as well as a capable battlefield commander. The fact that now Rogers, rather than Fury, will be the target of SHIELD's PR goes unmentioned.

Rogers is simple, down to earth, and unassuming. He has received elite training for SHIELD and in his service in US Army, making him a capable soldier, hand to hand fighter, and commander. He is friendly and personable, making it easy to get through the legend behind the all-American face.

His time in cryo sleep has left its mark, however. He is no longer the apex of human ability and his muscles and reflexes have diminished greatly. Part of his SHIELD training was to restore his strength and speed, but so far he has to rely on skill more than the benefits of his super serum.

Occupation: SHIELD Director

Relationship Status: Single

The Man/Woman you will become: Captain America

Sample Post: Rogers looked out over the the steel rim of the troop transport as it yawed over the frothy crest of a wave. Behind him were two dozen brave men, some barely more than boys, others grizzled veterans. Then again, everyone was a veteran after this war. Rogers stood, balancing perfectly despite the choppy waters. Only a few minutes until the transport hit ground.

"All right men. Our mission is simple." He pointed westward with his vibranium shield, the metal itself untarnished while the paint had all manner of chips and dings from the rigors of combat. "Over there is home. Your wives, your sons, your daughters." The shield pointed eastward toward the beach. "There is the enemy, the boogeymen, the bullies. The one thing that keeps them from sleeping at night. The enemy isn't going to get them, are they? Are they!?"

A roar from the troops.

"Because you are here, standing between them! Because you are here, fighting for them!" Rogers shakes the shield eastward. "We take that beach head, we hold it!" He swings it back westward. "And we keep them safe!"

Another thunderous roar.

"Let's do this, men! Onward!"

The transport hit the shallows with a lurch and the troop door fell open with a splash of sea foam.

The roar of men became a roar of bullets as Captain Steve Rogers led the invasion of Normandy.

Alias: Captain America

Hero, Walking-the-line, or Villain: Hero

Superhero Origins/Powers: Project Rebirth was America's answer to the Nazi threat. The super serum it created made Rogers the peak of human perfection. He had strength, reflexes, agility, and speed. He could bench press 500lb. without breaking a sweat, run 30 miles in 20 minutes, and even dodge the occasional bullet it he knew it was coming. With these gifts, he could use his vibrancy shield to redirect attacks or throw it such that it hits multiple foes and returns to his hand.

After his cryogenic sleep, Rogers no longer has the degree of physical ability he used to have. He is roughly only as strong, fast, and agile as an well trained man rather than the near superhuman hero he used to be.

Having been trained in the Army as well as in SHIELD, Rogers is an excellent marksman, hand to hand combatant, athlete, and field commander.

Weaknesses: Rogers has all the weaknesses of a highly athletic but still baseline human.

Powers/Abilities: Presently none. Previously, peak-human strength, endurance, agility, and speed.

Hero/Villain Relationships: Director of SHIELD. Nick Fury is his second in command and major link to the modern world. He is professionally acquainted with most agents of SHIELD, who in turn look up to him as the legendary war hero. As Director, Capt. Rogers can pull up the dossier on most active superheroes and supervillains, giving him at least a cursory familiarity with their powers and abilities. However, at present he has no other active relationships with the superhero community.

HOWARD THE DUCK

Name:
Howard the D.U.C.C. (Deadly Universal Computerized Companion)

Age: n/a

Background: Built by Stark Industries as a drone for SHIELD's military operations, the Deadly Universal Computerized Companion, the D.U.C.C., was a completely robotic tank-link creation roughly the size of a large mastiff. Its comparatively large torso housed a "Universal Rig" system that enabled it to swap out multiple weapons, including small arms fire, grenade launchers, flame throwers, repulsor beam technology, and various tools for electronic and mechanical needs.

The prototype D.U.C.C., nicknamed Howard by Tony Stark in honor of his father, was assigned to Captain America's task force in SHIELD. This will be its first series of missions to assess its utility and viability as a military expenditure.

Occupation: Combat Drone

Relationship Status: n/a

The Man/Woman you will become: n/a

Origin/Powers:
Howard is built for combat. As such, he has a bullet and tear resistant chassis, electromagnetic shielding, a heuristic processor enabling a degree of sentient AI and learning capability, the ability to speak and translate all Earth languages and several off-world languages, a rocket booster for boosted jumps (but not full flight), and a Universal Rig system enabling it to switch out all manner of military-grade weaponry including small arms fire, grenades, flamethrowers, lasers, and flamethrowers.

Weaknesses: Howard is susceptible to high-caliber weaponry and extensive traumatic damage. It can theoretically be hacked or disabled through a strong enough EMP field, though its defenses are quite robust.

Sample Post: Rogers looked at Fury with a side glance. "Want to explain what this thing is, Nick?"

Nick Fury smirked and patted the waist-high mechanical monstrosity affectionately. "Its name's Howard. Howard, this is Steve."

"A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU, MEATBAG."

Fury scratched behind his ear sheepishly. "I'll get Stark to fix that bit. He's been playing a few computer games on the side. Anyway, he's going to be your robot buddy."

Rogers wasn't convinced. "Aren't they supposed to take over the world or something, Nick? Like in Terminator?"

"Oh, I see you're keeping up with the classics. He's less Terminator, more R2-D2."

"...Ar-Two what?"

Okay, seems like everyone from the Interest Check is here now aside from Pepper and SavMarie43.

Have we all decided on the first arc being the Enhanced Body Villains story, or did we change our minds? Currently (at the time of posting this), the vote was 3 in favour of that idea, whereas everyone else hadn't voted.

I'm not the OP, but I think those would both be fine. I think we're allowed to reboot the characters as radically as we need to. I don't want to give too much input until we get Sora's word on the matter or we see what other new players choose. Also, check out the interest check thread.

I can help right now :3

@PastaSentient, you can play both of those characters if you want. This is an alternate Marvel universe, so really you only need to stick with the base idea for the character. For example, my Spider-Man is heavily influenced by the current film series, but he still acts like his own Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

Look at our version of X-23. I think in the comics, she's like what, 21/28 now? Here however, she's 16 and still hasn't met with Wolverine.

Even Howard the Duck. He's a robot now.

You can have free range to do whatever you want with the character and make them feel like your own as long as you stick to the base ideas. If you make Doctor Octopus, then he can't be a superhero and requires the additional limbs (either as mutations or robotic appendages). Aside from that, the character is yours to create.

(Sorry for the non-comic image. Could not find any good ones of a young Magneto without costume)
Birth Name: Max Einsenhardt
Current Name: Erik Lensherr
Appearance: Is always wearing 'civilian' clothes. He does not possess a costume. Just a Shield Uniform. Erik stands at 5'10 and weighs 170 pounds. He is muscular due to his physical training. The man has brown hair and blue eyes.
Alias: Magneto
Hero, Walking-the-line, or Villain: Walking the Line
Age: 29

Appearance: Is always wearing 'civilian' clothes. He does not possess a costume. Just a Shield Uniform.

Background and Hero/Villain Origins:

Born in 1985 to ethnic Jews Jakob and Edie Eisendhart, Max spent the first five years of his life in Soviet Russia. His father and mother, both children of holocaust survivors, did their best to raise the young boy; however a lack of income left the family in dire straits. In 1990, this changed. With the USSR's removal of the restriction prohibiting Jews from immigration to Israel, the young family moved to their ancestral homeland. Max remembers very little of the move and even less of his time in Russia.

It was here in Israel that they connected with old relatives. A distant uncle provided Jakob with a job where the hardworking man soon advanced up the ladder. By the time Max was ten years old, his family lived in decent home with a steady income. Max's mother and father loved the boy, but their own harsh times in Russia prevented them from spoiling the boy. He was raise in a strict home, but nonetheless was secure in his parent's love. That security was torn from him when in 1999, his town came under the attack of the Hezbollah. Suicide bombers launched a massive attack against his home. It was here that his mutant powers awakened. As the shrapnel sped toward him, the young teen threw out his hands and flung the metal away. His family died in the attack, however.

The Israeli Government had taken a somewhat different approach to mutants around the world. Rather than make any open threats against the mutants, mutants were governed by the same laws as any other Israelite citizen. This was in no small part due to the tiny mutant population Israel possessed. Israel had yet to face a mutant threat that caused massive damage. Rather, mutants with combat abilities were typically offered to be trained in their powers and join the Israelite military as specialists. Considering that military service was mandatory anyways in Israel, most leaped at the offer.

Though Max was devastated at the loss of his family, he soon found a new home training with other Jewish mutants. It was here that he learned to control metal as well as how to integrate these abilities into combat. At the age of eighteen in 2003, Max joined the official Israelite Military in which he served with distinction. The young man was soon promoted to an officer rank due to his mutations and intelligence. A Lieutenant at the age of 21, Max was offered a position within the Mossad. Taking the offer to join the Israelite Intelligence Agency, Max's name was change to Erik Lensherr and given the codename Magneto.

Erik underwent severe training at the hands of the Mossad. Many times he thought he would perish, but he survived and grew the stronger for it. For the next four years, Erik would perform vital missions for the Mossad and came to be one of their best operatives. During this time period he performed everything from assassinations to interrogation. Recognizing his potential, four years ago Erik was offered a position with SHIELD. Taking the offer, Erik has served SHIELD with distinction moving through the ranks.

Powers/Abilities:
(Lined out Abilities are potential ones that he has not yet discovered)

-Magnetokinesis: Magneto has comprehensive control over all forms of magnetism and utilizes that control to manipulate ferrous metals and achieve a variety of effects.

-Magnetic Force-Fields: Magneto usually protects himself with a personal force field that he can quickly expand to protect large areas.
-Magnetic Rays: Magneto has the ability to shoot powerful rays and electromagnetic pulses, and has shown this ability to destroy both metallic and nonmetallic objects.
-Metal/Matter Manipulation:Magneto can manipulate metal at the atomic level and make it take different forms.
-Magnetic Flight:Magneto is also capable of sustaining flight for very long distances and at varying speeds. He apparently has several means by which he achieves flight, one of which is by riding along the planet's natural magnetic lines of force, another by simply creating a repulsive force between himself and the planet, propelling himself thus.
-Geomagnetic Link:Magneto is tied very closely to Earth's EM Field. As it is effected, so is he. He knows instinctively all that happens to it.
-Gravity Reduction:Eric's control over the magnetic and electromagnetic force is so refined that he can shut off gravity within a limited radius of himself by reversing the polarity of the earth's own magnetic field.
-Metallic Bonding:Magneto has recently displayed the power to atomically bond metallic substances. This newly developed technique allows Magneto to blend metallic alloys with earth, water, and air (HoM).
- Organic Iron Manipulation:Magneto can control the traces of iron within organic matter and can manipulate the iron-enriched blood-flow to one's brain to potentially induce very limited effects. There are only 2.5 grams of iron in the bloodstream of a healthy human body and perhaps a gram at most in the rest of the body.
-Electromagnetic Sight:By concentrating, Magneto can perceive the world around himself as patterns of magnetic and electrical energy. He can perceive the natural electromagnetic auras given off by living beings.
-Superhuman Strength:Under normal conditions, Magneto possesses the physical strength of a well conditioned athlete. However, he can channel vast amounts of magnetic energy through his body for the purpose of potentially granting himself superhuman strength.
-Superhuman Stamina:As a result of increasing his strength, he dramatically increases the overall efficiency of his musculature. While magnetically enhanced, his muscles produce considerably less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of a normal human. Magneto can exert himself physically for some time before the build up of fatigue toxins in his blood starts to impair him.
-Superhuman Durability:Under normal conditions, Magneto possesses the physical durability of a well-conditioned athlete. However, he can channel amounts of magnetic energy through his body for the purpose of granting himself some degree of enhanced durability, to the point that he can resist punches from superhumanly strong foes such as Namor or Colossus and remain consciousalthough in both cases it is more likely that he managed to keep at least a weak variant of his force field in place.
-Genius-level Intellect: Magneto is an extremely intelligent person and capable of understanding most technical discussions. He has a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy, one of the few luxuries he allowed himself. His intellect lends itself well to being a great strategist and tactician

-Military Training: Magneto has been trained extensively in hand to hand combat and most firearms.

-Multilingual:Magneto is fluent in English, French, Polish, Russian, Hebrew, Arabic, Ukrainian, German, and Yiddish

Weaknesses/Tragic Flaw:

Physical Condition:Magneto's ability to wield his superhuman powers effectively is dependent upon his physical condition. When severely injured, his body is unable to withstand the strain of manipulating magnetic energy. When his powers are not at their peak, he also appears to have greater difficulty utilizing his magnetism for great feats. He is also susceptible to physical and mental fatigue that can ultimately affect his ability to adequately use his powers, especially if he overuses or extends them in a short amount of time.

Hubris: His excellent military record has made him somewhat prideful. Though he has reason to be, it can cause him to overextend himself.

Hero/Villain Relationships: Only coworker relationships with other members of Shield. He admires Captain America, but find the man somewhat idealist and naive. He has much greater respect for Nick Fury.

Occupation: SHIELD Agent

Other:
-Erik's view on mutants is somewhat different than his canon counterpart. He is not a mutant supremacist, rather he is a mutant equalist. This is due to the lack of persecution he has experienced as a mutant. He firmly believes that mutants should be treated the same as any homo sapien. As opposed to believing in mutants as Homo Superior, he rather views mutants as Homo Mutationem, or changed Human.

-A fling with a fellow soldier named Magda led to the birth of twins. The children were a boy and a girl named Pietro and Wanda respectively. The children are both currently ten years old. Erik is unaware of their existence.

Sample Post:

Erik Lensherr smiled grimly beneath his balaclava mask as he checked the sights of his pistol. His smiled turned into a frown as he noticed the weapon sights were off a hair. Maintaining his eyes upon the black nub that designated the aiming tool, Erik watched in satisfaction as the piece righted itself. While technically aiming was unnecessary, his time in the Mossad had taught him the importance of minor details.

"Yo! Magneto, we drop in thirty."

Erik looked over at the speaker and tilted his head slightly in acknowledgement. The dull thrum of the plane engine reverberated against Erik's body as he leaned back into his seat. This mission would be simple...hopefully. The Master of Magnetism closed his eyes and rested his head back against the seat. He could literally feel the metal in the plane work its beautiful magic. The quick working pistons, the wheels being turned by belts, the tiny cogs in places unseen...Erik could feel it all. And it was beautiful.

The thirty minutes passed quickly and Erik soon found himself jumping out of the plane. No parachute was necessary as he used the magnetic lines to guide his descent. His team fell along side him and he guided their movements as well though they wore the necessary equipment to land safely.

The Team landed upon the rooftop with nary a sound. No guards could be seen, but Erik knew better than to become complacent. With practiced efficiency, the squad made their way onto the top floor. Japanese architecture and art could be seen adorning the walls. Erik walked forward slowly at point with his pistol in front. It was natural for him to take lead considering he could stop most bullets from even getting close to the team.

He suddenly thrust out his hands and the two guards walking around the corner found their heads burst into a bloody mist as their metal helmets collapsed instantly. The smallest measure of distaste found its way to the pit of his stomach, but the man pushed it down. This was his work. Several more guards were dispatched in a similar fashion until they reached the primary suite.

Twenty four hours later found Erik laying in bed with his eyes closed. His breathing was rhythmic, but the slightest flutter of his eyelids betrayed consciousness. Images of the girl he had killed flashed through his brain. She was just a child...yet had already corrupted so many with her mutation. It was...troubling. Was this all mutants were to the rest of the world? Threats? Or could Mutants ever become something more?

Erik truly did not know, but he wanted to find out...

Sweet reimagining! Accepted!

Graci! I think I'll stick with just one character for now. I've got some other RP's going so working two characters might be a bit much currently. Looking forward to the story!

time to update the character roster?

In the morning. Right now its sleepy time :3

In the morning. Right now its sleepy time :3

I see how important I am. It's okay Sora...this time. But if it happens again I am demanding that we see a councelor. This relationship will never work if we don't have the right priorities. :P

XD aw you know I could never do that to you!

Oh wait, I can!

*snores*

Sora, may I make a composite character of SHIELD agent Alexander Pierce and Dmitri Smerdyakov/The Chameleon? If I had a named character as the head of my infiltration operations in SHIELD it'd give me a lot more opportunity to interact with the other players. Like the comics' Agent Pierce he would be the director's (Steve Rogers) aide and bodyguard. Secretly, he'd be master spy Dmitri Smerdyakov/The Chameleon and answer to the Leader. He'd be in charge of the Leader's other SHIELD infiltrators. I will need Razilin's permission also.

Sure, works for me. Just get permission from Razilin and I'll be cool with it.

Now that I've edited the OP, its time for bed!

Yay! I was added! No need for counseling after all!

Edit: really curious to see how Erik interacts with Cap and Howard...

Name:
Rachel 'Ray' Anne Summers
Appearance:
Is true that a picture can make a 1.000 words, but Rachel resemble a lot with her mother. But has some special traits that make her quite different from her mother. Rachel is petit, has long and dense eyelashes, a soft pale pink skin with big full lips of a reddish natural color. Rachel has a long hair that passes her ribs, is in waves and of a calm red color. Has a triungular face which confers her a doll-like aspect, in some aspects she might look unreal. Has a slim body, with long fingers, she looks fragil, ready to be torn up easily. She doesn't have her mother's tall figure, or shapes given by mother nature, no'r a beautiful character.
Alias: Phoenix, Marvel Girl
Hero, Walking-the-line, or Villain: Hero, former Villain
Age: 25
Appearance:
jean_grey_by_mirukawa-d5utlpg.png

Background and Hero/Villain Origins:

She had a pretty good life, wasn't traumatized by the negative aspects of life. She is the first child of Jean Grey and Scott Summers. In many aspects, as her look, she resemble her mother a lot in her teens. Until she was 10 Rachel had a perfect family life, with extra things. Being part of a mutant family things like regular trainings. Her mother, Jean, aimed for a more mentally training than physical, at her birth the Phoenix Force merged with her boosting a little her powers than a rather normal mutant. Rachel inherited from Jean, her nurturing and caring personality for those close to her, but as her father, Scott had its impact when it came to shape her. Things like discipline and loyalty inspired her to look for something in life, good or bad. At 11 Rachel became part of "Xavier Institute for Higher Learning", after her parents had to leave her there, Xavier became a father-like figure. In her first 10 years spent with her family Rachel didn't had the chance to discover herself. From nature Rachel was and it is a stubborn person, once she has something in her mind nothing and no one can make her to give up. Unlike her mother Rachel makes harsh decisions and in face of danger she doesn't move an inch. Rachel lacks the finesse of her mother that she gave proof in the battle, but also in everyday life. After one year in the institute she already became a troublemaker. But what it made it even harder it was that the professor couldn't track her mutant powers, but in a way or another he was proud of her. Soon after she managed to prank almost every teacher in the institute he became her friend, a street mutant. At that moment, he was the only one she couldn't read his thoughts, as a rather naïve teen she kept the ties with him. Rachel learned how to repair engines and how to steal one, how to use the naivety of people (ironically), to profit after them and make a good use of advanced weapons. For four long years Rachel began to miss a lot from the institute and to become, how she liked to call herself a rebel, she cut her hair shorter and reached her shoulders, from her new teammates she learned dirty tricks in battle.
At 17 Rachel was alone, she thought that the professor gave up on searching her, she started to think at her new gang as her new family. But one certain time, when her gang made a riot in the northern part of the New York, against them was assembled a group of mutants from the institute, melancholy and embarrassment began to contain her, wanted to disappear from that place, however couldn't happened. She injured some of her gang members, but as well from the opposite party as well, making the injured one to feel a near-death experience. Ashamed and broken, Ray (as she likes being called by close friends) come back 'home', her home, at the institute, near others and the professor. At 17 she started an intense training, for better than seven years she didn't saw he mother and father, as she heard from the professor that they will do a visit next year, Rachel wanted to surpass he mother, both in power and strength. She required professors help to unlock her other side of the brain being sure she can control the Phoenix Force. since the frail age Rachel learned from her mother to put up a barrier to protect her mind from other psychics, but as well to not let the force to control her. As she opened her mind for the professor Xavier to have a look, at the first opportunity the Phoenix Force took control killing anything from outside that steps inside her mind. For three years the professor was in a comatose and Rachel lost the contact with the force. Guilty and broken again, Ray outcasts herself from others. She took private lessons from others at her request. When her parents came Rachel could see their disappointed faces and she couldn't stand to spent some time with them. After the professor woke up, she took back a part from Phoenix Force and under his guidance began to go to classes once again. She doesn't make use of the Phoenix Force, not that she isn't scared, but she has another plan in mind, to surpass her mother without the Phoenix Force.
Rachel was part of small groups, never been in a group longer than eight months, now she is stoic, on the battle field and everywhere, rarely is herself with the professor, began to change herself, more to a robotic like person.

Powers:

- Telephaty
Her "virtually unlimited" telepathy allows her to receive, broadcast, and manipulate cognitive processes (such as thoughts) in an intricate manner. Examples of Rachel's aptitudes for this include creating durable mind-links across distances, projecting blasts of psionic energy that disrupt aspects of brain functioning, shielding her mind from other telepaths, creating illusions, and rendering someone invisible to the five senses. In addition, Rachel has demonstrated the ability to telepathically suppress superpowers; control, repair, and exchange minds (even cross-temporally); as well as safely editing memories. Rachel has also harnessed her telepathy to sense, locate, and track other mutants based on their thought patterns, but has a moral apprehension about using this skill. It is known that Rachel's telepathy, although immeasurable in raw power, is mitigated by her limited training and finesse.

- Telekinesis
By using telekinesis, Rachel can remotely manipulate matter even on a sub-atomic level. She can channel this ability to create protective force fields and blasts of concussive force. By using her telekinesis to levitate herself, she can fly at incredible speeds.Rachel's telekinetic fine-motor control has allowed her to alter molecular valences, to create a telekinetic/psionic sword (much like Psylocke's telekinetic katana) and a telekinetic hammer powerful enough to knock Thor off his feet. While all depictions portray Rachel as an extremely powerful telekinetic, the limitations of her hard-psi capabilities have been somewhat inconsistent. Rachel's telekinetic potential to be nigh-unlimited, whereas others have shown her struggling against, and even outmatched by, lesser developed telekinetics such as Psylocke.

- Chronoskimming
Marvel Girl utilizes her psionic talents in conjunction with her ability to manipulate time in a variety of ways. "Chronoskimming" describes her ability to temporarily transplant a person's mind and send it through time into a younger/older version, a close ancestor/descendant, or as a disembodied astral form.

-Phoenix Force
INACTIVE
Rachel demonstrated heightened psi-powers as well as the ability to manipulate energy and lifeforces, enhanced her strength to immeasurable levels and a limited cosmic awareness. Being born from the Phoenix Force merging with Jean, Rachel inherited her mother's potential for telepathic and telekinetic powers and ability to tap into the limitless power of the Phoenix Force. Her Phoneix Force is limitated for now, for the moment she couldn't reach at her mother's abilities to control it.

Abilities:
- Rachel has been shown to learn new skills extremely quickly, for example, she mastered a set of "demon ninja" sword skills simply by watching her teammate perform them.
- Rachel has experience in vehicular repair and the use of advanced weaponry and technology
- Hand-to-hand combat
- Can track mutants by their powers telepathically
- She combines her powers with the techniques, she doesn't have a proper build up body for a 'brutal' fight

Weaknesses:
- She doesn't have an athletic body, she can't endure a long distance run or a long time hand-to-hand battle without a break
- Her body doesn't differ from any other normal human female
- Even if she is Jean Grey daughter, Rachel doesn't have the necessar finess in battle to control to fullness her telephaty, telekinesis and phoenix force.
- Occasionally Ray is quite arrogant and proud, she might no't listen to no one if her pride or ideas/thoughts aren't listened or ignored
- Constantly Ray is trying to help and save the lives of others. A weakness or no't, but tends to jump right forward without, occasionally, thinking if it is a suicidal mission or no't

Tragic Flaw:
- Rachel relies on family and her teammates, she feels devastated when she loses them or they betray her trust. I don't know if it can be a tragic flaw, but on missions she relies on her teammates very much. She believes that everyone must have each other back.
Hero/Villain Relationships: As the story will unfold I will update it :)

Occupation: Sudent at "Xavier Institute for Higher Learning"
Other:
- Bites her lower lip when she is nervous
- At first she is some sort of "Cold Ice B*tch"
- Sleeps with a teddy bear :)
- Has a sweet tooth
- She respects her moral codes
Motto*: "I'm a sarcastic and I have a smart-ass attitude. It is a natural defense against drama, bullsh*t and stupidity."
Sample Post:
It was a cold night, a cold night in the big city of New York. It was really quiet, a gloomy silence of a late autumn. Rachel was behind a building, wore her all time military boots, black jeans and a white shirt. She had a black leather jacket that keeps her warm. Remembers clearly everything, from the first day.
"Oy we have fresh meat !" His voice rang in the abandoned building. During that time, even now, she looked a lot like her mother when she was young, nicknamed Jr. Jean Grey. She hate it, hate it to point where she would began to hate her mother, but couldn't, guilty will take its place along with pain. "Are you with us kiddo?" She lifted her head and stared at her, she was beautiful, a tall and slim woman with black hair. "Y-Y-Yea." She tried to have a steady voice, to look confident, but couldn't. "Hahahaha calm down and welcome to the family!" Rachel smiled wide as she stepped into a new and different world.
She shook her head as the memory began to fade. She saw the signal, they had a plan, a riot in the northern part of the New York, there were mutants left on the streets and treats like rats, she experienced this and occasionally Rachel was homesick, her real home. Back to the institute, with the professor and everyone. But now wasn't time for this, their plan was easy, take money, hostages and destroy the banks. In this moment Rachel thought it was a stupid idea, back there sounded very good, we take money and we will demand a place were to stay, but now, in her head sounded quite foolish. Everything went perfect, but they came. A small and well-trained group from the institute. She stepped back to stand with all the prisoners, didn't want to face them, didn't want to see them. Many thoughts went through her head, what she was doing, why she left. Eventually took some courage and went on the battlefield. What was true, is that the battle was difficult. Rachel didn't have the necessary experience on the battlefield, but this didn't prevent her stubborn character to make a few disasters. "Ray, honey ! Come home !" Storm voice stopped her. "No !" She said as she used her telekinesis to push her. "You forgot about me !" She yelled as tears began to make in her eyes. "You forgot me." She said with a faint voice. "Is not true dear ! You didn't want to be found, the professor didn't stop. It always looked after you. He once found a trace of your power, but then it vanished." Storm said as she landed near her. Rachel began to cry as he teammates yell at her to stand up and fight. During that moment Storm was injured and she couldn't stop crying. "Stand up and fight you moron !" He yelled at her and in an urge of anger she screamed, screamed from all her lungs, she felt like her heart fall apart in pieces, her brain breaks in pieces. Everyone around her on 10 meters were paralyzed and fell down, those near her fell an experience near-death as their heart began to stop working. "I am sorry Storm." She said as she wiped her tears. " Tell them I am coming home. I am coming home." She told her between sobs and tears. " Ok honey." Her faint voice broke her inside even more.
