Personality: He starts off as a timid person, getting a feel for who he will be around. He refuses to judge others, unless under direct orders. Even then, it would be half-hearted and begrudgingly done. Having fun is one thing he strives to do, however it usually ends up being something only he enjoys. Who knew not many people found birdwatching as riveting as he did? He's quick to compliment, but then might stumble around his words and try to cover it up as casual conversation. There's a fear of sounding foolish, from spending years at the University, and thus he may keep quiet about topics, regardless of his knowledge on them. If he is unsure of something, you will probably not get an answer out of him.
Biography: As a child, he was always trying to live up to the standards of his older brothers. He was the baby, an unexpected one at that, and his parents barely paid him any mind. His older brothers were already well into their training, making dear mommy and daddy proud. Meanwhile, Tanderin was raised by handmaids, then kept under wraps with tutors and scheduled playmates, usually cousins of theirs. Once he was old enough to be sent off to the University, the king and queen did not hesitate to do so. Because of this, Tanderin has no real bond with his family other than one of duty.
Life in the University was a sterile one, very restrained and refined. The young prince hated it, and tried to make it as fun as possible. This resulted in a few stern talking-tos by his teachers, detention, clean-up duty… He was a trouble maker. When he wasn't busy driving his teachers mad, he sought solitude. His feather collection began in the first few years of study, as did his sketching habit. No one really knows about either, as he will only look for feathers when alone, and makes sure to sketch when no one is around. He hates talking about either, almost finding them as embarrassing hobbies that he loves.
Since he graduated from the University, his parents needed something else to occupy him with. Since their older sons were already busy serving useful purposes, Tanderin was voluntold to become their nation's Reconciled for the upcoming ritual. He had no say in whether he wanted to do this or not, and so he's a little resentful for having to participate. However, since it is his duty, he still finds it necessary to cooperate. Ah, princely duties. He figures that this is better than being ignored.
Extra/other: Tanderin only really had one dream, and that was to own a bird sanctuary, where he can watch all the birds he could possibly want and not be bothered! But alas, a scholar and probably becoming the lead archivist is what is in store for him.
