Likes & Dislikes: Aaron likes to dissect the human brain, both literally and metaphorically. He wishes to understand the purpose and function of the self and to see how changes in cognitive development shape the person. Due to his darker proclivities, he will often offer his services to the family and friends of his victims to see the changes and growth from their loss. He dislikes having to repeat himself and detests unkempt people and unclean homes. He enjoys wine on all levels and prefers to eat at fine dining establishments when he doesn't feel like cooking for himself or another. He dislikes most hard liqours and spirits and very much dislikes 'family style' eateries. His favorite color is carmine and if given the choice between dogs or cats, he would choose a cat based on the cleverness of the animal.



Personality and History Glimpse: Aaron has always had a troubled life, always feeling that there was something wrong -- something off -- about him. He knew this, because at a young age, he would engage in acts of violence on the neighborhood animalia and insects, effectively torturing and dissecting them while they were still alive, much to the dismay and horror of his constituents. He was curious about the life functions of the creatures and took his studies into his own hands but was not unaware of the social outlook on his actions. He was regarded as the unusual, the infirm.

As he developed, he began to experience more eccentric desires to learn about the world, about himself. Adversely, his proclivities began to expand as well. In order to discover more about himself, he had to discover more about the people around him. At first, he was able to state the hunger within him by studying the scientific fields of anatomy and psychology, but as time went on, it would become too uncontainable.

At nineteen, he traveled to the next state and began to target young women in his age bracket, enamoring them and getting to know them intimately. Some were targeted for having no family near them, some were targeted for having family close by. He wanted to see what the waves left in their wake would be like. Over the course of two years, the lives of four women were snuffed out and the town was left in a state of shock. The bodies were left without teeth, all finger prints were destroyed by acid, and the body was soaked in lye to destroy the hair and as much of the appearance of the victim as possible. The cranium were sawed open, as were the sternum. The major organs were taken out and arranged on a table as if left for scientific study. The murders were as grotesque as they were methodical, and the killer was never caught. In order to play the part right, Aaron allowed himself to be questioned multiple times over the two years to prove his 'innocence' and was able to escape persecution.

His killings allowed him to sate his hunger for several years while he worked for his degrees and only just took up killing again in the last two, after graduation. After the first year, he began to extend his services to those who's families have been left behind after his killings, and to those who have lost their loved ones to other reasons as well, at a lowered rate. His desire to see how others developed after tragedy is what fuels his sprees and allows him to see into his own mind.

For each atrocity, for each sin committed, this 'memory' of the world manifests and retaliates against its aggressor. The dead 'return' and attack the target with their strength determined by how great the target felt that sin was. The more Carmine knows, the more sins manifested.​

This power works in conjunction with So It Was, So It Shall Be. It offers a brief glimpse into the target's heart to see their most grievous sin. This can only affect a single target once in a twenty-four hour period.​

This power is a mind-affecting ability. It plagues the target with a growing state of madness as they are assailed with feelings of their own guilt for their sins. The feeling grows more powerful over time, depending on the severity (or quantity) of their sins. The victims hear the voices, the screams, the cries, of those they've killed or wronged until it instills madness.​

This lesser power allows Carmine to project the knowledge of the atrocities of the target to everyone who knows them within a wide radius. Those who do not know the target well, acquaintances or met in passing, get an idea as to the kinds of crimes committed.The target feels the weight of the opinions of those who learn these secrets in a mental assault that can send the body into a couple of states: shock, madness, sickened, hysterics. This can cause physical damage if the target opts to take that route.​

The Sanguine Quill

This ruby-red sword with gold embellishment has a simple, yet devious enchantment. When the blade is stabbed into a living enemy, and Carmine asks a question about the history of the impaled, and they lie about the response, the victim receives a backlash. The enchantment causes the truth to the question write itself out in the skin of the affected in shorthand. The effect is more painful than lethal, and would certainly be horrific to witness happen. It is used more as a method of interrogation and forced repentance than a legitimate combat tactic. Ability aside, the blade is finely crafted and reinforced, crafted by Giants in exchange for prior services.

The biggest weakness that Carmine has is the fact that his abilities are directly dependent on whether or not the target feels any form of remorse or guilt for their crimes and atrocities. Those who do not, or feel little, are either unaffected by his powers or they work weakly. From a social standpoint, his singular obsessive focus makes it hard to coordinate with allies. There is also the possibility that, if presented with truly rare secrets of the world, he might be swayed to work for the holder until he learns it -- or might just out-right attack them if they're stubborn or considered evil.

Personality

Carmine is a scholar and devotes much of his time to researching the world around him, the lives of those who live and have lived. His dedication is borderline obsessive and he goes through great lengths to glean any bit of knowledge he can. When dealing with enemies, he uses his abilities and banter to draw out information about the target's sins to use them against them. After a fight, this information is recorded, as is the fate of the perpetrator. During times of focused research, he seems aloof and tends to ignore even the most pointed of call-outs towards him. When he is with those who he feels can be colleagues, he is animated, and even more-so if it involves discussing the world or knowledge he might not have. He has been known to fall into melancholic moods, where it's nigh-impossible to get through to him, and his responses are lackluster. It is said that, during these moments, he is reliving the lives of those who's history have been recorded, but this is pure conjecture.

History

For all the history that Carmine collects and shares, his is one of the most obscure. He claims that he was raised in a small, non-descript village in the woods some miles from here or there (the story changes each time he retells it), and that he was raised by lumber workers until he left at the age of ten in search for meaning to his life. He spent many years on the road, making coin doing odd-jobs as he searched for himself. He was helping an old sage carry books to his tower in the mountains when a book fell and opened right on the page for beginners magic theory. Carmine then spent the next several years learning the craft before venturing on his own.

The truth to his past is much less exciting as he makes it out to be. He was born into a poor home and ran away at a young age to escape an abusive childhood. While living in the slums and sheltering in cisterns, he pilfered a book with maps of the known world. It was here that he discovered his passion for the world and scrounged what he could to attend classes to learn how to read and write. When he was fifteen, he had embarked on his journey to discover the world and her people, to make their history his own.

Over the thirty years of his life he had been awake, his goal still has not changed. He gathers the stories of everyone he meets, and forces them out of those who have wronged others. He has a hidden desire to discover the secrets of the world and the races.​

Jordan's Academy-supplied uniform. When he enlisted, he enrolled in the Medic program and tested in with barely-passing marks. Even though the years have long since passed since his graduation, he still wears the uniform as a reminder of how far he has come.

Over the years, Jordan has acquired several body modifications: some to cover wounds, and some to mask others. These marks tell the story of how Jordan became Jordan.

This firearm is a field medic's choice weapon in the event combat is a necessity. The firearm sports the ability to change munitions depending on the need, whether needing to fire lethal munitions to non-lethal, to medicinal components. Light-weight, easy to clean and repair, and durable.

This All-in-One Medical Supply Kit contains a couple of notable items: a hazardous environmental respirator and a self-sterilizing medical applicator/injector. Personality: Jordan maintains an affable personality, allowing others to approach him and bring forth issues regarding orders or situations on the ship with ease. Due to his strained past, he will often try to stay secluded from those he is with, despite his willingness to aid others. He opts for the path of least resistance to a goal and appears apathetic when dealing with those injured in the field. It is not uncommon for crew members to hear Jordan speaking to himself and having dynamic conversations in a similar manner. History: Jordan was raised in a low-class life in the rural countryside of the Mid-Canadian North. He and his family subsisted on scavenging supplies (or theft) and trading materials prior to the exodus. As he grew up, his desire to leave the countryside grew in kind. At the age of seventeen, he enlisted in the colonial guard and underwent basic combat training. During his first three years, he saw sporadic combat during skirmishes over diminishing resources on the planet.

After his first tour, and seeing the devastation and death around him -- namely, seeing his brothers and sisters fall on the field -- he applies with the Colonial Military Academy for the field of Medicine. His initial marks promised him a quick removal from the program, but he applied himself and pushed through until he graduated with middle marks.

In the years since his time with the Colonial military, he had married and settled down in the countryside where he grew up. His peace did not last long, however, when his wife was listed as dead during a skirmish that took place in the area while he was away on business.

  • Igor was born into a purist family in the outskirts of Dol Cae'thar on the coast of the Allusian Basin to a father who was rarely home and a mother who worked too much for her own good. His upbringing was mostly quiet, save for the instances where his father would come home on leave and instill some of the training he had gained through the service into Igor.

    When he reached the age of sixteen, he enlisted in the same branch of the military his father had joined and been in service to for the last twenty years. During his preliminary examinations and aptitude tests, in addition to his psychological analysis; it was determined that Igor would be best suited as an Explosive Ordinance Disposal technician.

    Following the climactic ending to all known society, Igor put his skills into practice in trapping structures and creatures and taking out traps against him and his as such. However, that lasted but a short while as the community leader had suspected him of espionage (though the man just really disliked Igor's father [who perished alongside Igor's mother during the end]) and had imposed an exile upon him, the first imposed in their settlement.
  • Igor is the definition of cynical. He looks at everything from the practical aspects of life and only takes what he needs and when he needs it. Relationships that he forms tend to be on a more use-oriented theme, whether that person or community has something to contribute directly to his life. Social tenancies tend to be minimal save for when the prior needs to be fulfilled.

    There is, however, one instance where his entire personality changes: explosives. He loves them, as much as a child loves free reign in a candy shop. He becomes giddy and twisted, seeking the most explosive and artistic end to whatever his task requires and often tricks his targets into being part of his light show.
