Birdie stood up, rubbing his jaw. He'd had enough head injuries for one day, thank you. "Well, we're all dead, yeah? At least..." He glanced at Azuma and Ben. "Ain't you three s'posed to be alive?"

Ghostfreak looks around for a bit, realising that his sense of humour wasn't really alive in a situation like this.

"Alright, fine, I am supposed to be alive. I was transported here through that magical touch thing, and I'm going to assume your little friend here was too," Ghostfreak briefly looks at Azuma. "I think there's more than one way to get here. There are legends of heroes outright barging into the underworld or heavens without getting that death permit. That magical touch thing could be something like that."

"This place is pretty cryptic to me. There's a lot I don't know about this land. According to the lady who's been helping us, we're outside time itself. Not the best answer, I know." Ghostfreak looks out of the window. "Last time I went to a place with that description, there was absolutely nothing - no floors, no walls, no skies, no Mr Smoothy's, not counting the guys that were trying to create the universe. Over here, there were a lot of things, but now it looks pretty thrashed, like we're in someone's vision of a dark future."

Ghostfreak then realised something.

"... wait a second, this place might be linked to a dark future. I downloaded some footage I got from the computer over there along with the map over here. I'll show you what I mean later."

"I too would rather simply go home, but it would appear that is not an option. Let's take care of that parasite for now. As long as we're careful, there shouldn't be any major complications."

At least, Seisa hoped not. None of their options appeared particularly safe however, so she decided they might as well go with something.

"...I...I don't feel my Stand at all. It's like the same effect from the previous world, but amplified to the point where...I can't use Gold Experience."

"Do any of you feel it?"

@Atomyk @Jeremi @Verite @Kaykay
It seemed to Dorian that somehow, someway, his contentious actions had ended up earning him more friends than he had before.

Funny how that worked.

Their group had dropped immensely in size, now appearing to be almost half of what it had started as. There was little time to mourn or think about the futility of life considering they were constantly on the move. Just another war to be a part of, risking their lives for forces that may be working against them.

"I thank you for the offer," Dorian said in response to Mipha. "Considering that you seem to be the only associate of mine with a clear opinion on the matter, I will be joining you to this crash site. No doubt that it'll be one of the many locations where we may risk our lives for the greater good. Whatever that 'greater good' may be."

"So, Shichika, that is my answer on the matter. Stay safe, regardless of your choice."
katana0083copy.jpg

"Eh? You mean your yellow spirit friend? Well, I can't see it at least," Shichika shrugged in response to Giorno, crossing his arms, "I guess if the further we go in this weird misadventure, the weaker these powers of everyone's get. I suppose it's a good thing I can at least retain the knowledge of the Kyoutouryuu Art, though I'd rather not find out if I've gotten any weaker or sluggish in turn, but it seems like we'll be finding out soon enough regardless."

Of course, the first assumption on his mind was the belief that they'd probably be fighting the parasite when they would encounter it.

Mazui_Katanagatari_-_03_Xvi_DF96_A40_B.jpg

With a nod, the swordsman then turned to face Dorian and Howlett, who seemed to have chosen the same path as Seisa did. "Right. Guess we'll be tagging along with you for the moment. Let's go then!" He said eagerly, before making his way to the crash site as well along with everyone else.

"I'm Sonic! Sonic the Hedgehog!" The blue hedgehog declared proudly. With the introductions out of the way, Sonic decided to make conversation once Danielle approached their group. "Hey Danielle." Sonic said upon taking notice of the soldier, flicking her a wave.

"So you're a queen, huh? What's that like?" The hedgehog asked Rosa.

@Jeremi @Minerva @york @terrorshippeeps

Rosa looked up. "It's nice." She said calmly. "I get to help my people. I try to be the best ruler I can be with my husband." She smiled softly.

"I wasn't going to ask that." JD replied, returning his gaze to them. What woupd be the point? If they were a Harbringer and knew it or not why would they admit it?

"And I guess we have something in common; not really being bothered or caring about the rest." he replied. The group was rather chaotic, and he didn't want to get involved if there was no real need after all.

@Fallen Hope

Chara went silent for a bit. Of course he wouldn't ask that, why would anyone ask? If finding out who the harbingers were was as simple as asking them, there wouldn't be all this unnecessary death going on. Think before you speak, Chara.

"...I don't know you well enough to completely agree with that statement, but I'll take your word for it."

Looking back to the group, they watch as Azuma disappears, presumably to that "afterlife" place.

"Looks like the votes are finally in...guess that means another one of those gate things will open shortly. I wonder what chaotic world we'll end up in this time."

They turn to JD and give him a slight smile...then the time gate appears and proceeds to suck everyone in.

Round 3
Earth Defense Force

Yalena stayed rather silent as the debates continued further on, before she finally spoke up, having decided it was time to move on, however... Even though the votes were still (barely) stacked towards Noembelu, it would appear that things were taking a sudden, and rather dark turn.

Her usually calm, and composed demeanor quickly faded when in the light of Constanza's attempt to kill her, Noembelu had abruptly killed herself. Yalena looked onwards at the scene with a mixture of anguish, and confusion, evidently not having been fast enough to prevent Noembelu from doing what she did. Not long after A2 and Birdie, engaged themselves in a fight to the death... It was in that moment that, for potentially the first time since she had met the group, she was unable to maintain her composure.

"No! No more...! I-... ..." She trailed off, as by this point, even she doubted that either A2, nor Birdie would listen to her.

In a last, desperate attempt to prevent any further deaths, she was prepared to charge forwards, in order to restrain Birdie... But no matter how fast she could have gone, or if her attempt would have even worked, Shichika's blow killed him too.

As both Noembelu and Birdie lay there, dead... A chilling wind suddenly blew throughout the group, bringing with it this ominous feeling, and for just the briefest of moments, they might even have heard rasping laughter echoing from somewhere far away.

There was a long moment of silence as Yalena desperately tried to keep everything together... Her knuckles turning white as she clenched her fists, until at last... She was able to pull herself together, just long enough to recount the votes that were distrivuted.

"... Like they said... Noembelu and Birdie were Harbingers..." She said quietly, after a moment.

Evidently, she had received some information from their deaths in particular, indicating that they must have indeed, made it to the place Ben, Buddy, and Dio had too after their deaths.

Seeing that she couldn't waste any more time, in case someone else were to die here... She gestured for Azuma to come over to her, quietly placing her hand on Azuma's head once she did so.

Closing her eyes, she concentrated... And soon, Azuma vanished into thin air, the transport process appearing to have been successfull. It wasn't long after that she opened her eyes, looking saddened by the information she received.

"Azuma... However, is... Innocent..." She said quietly.

Her voice had even cracked a little as her gaze fell upon Noembelu and Birdie's bodies... Evidently she wasn't very happy about how things had turned out, but all the same... What was done was done, and there was no way to undo it.

A few moment of silence passed by, as Yalena appeared to have gone quiet, before Danielle noticed that the crystaline fragment she had taken from Noembelu had begun emitting a blue glow.

In response to this, a familiar, blue sphere began flashing not too far off from her, and... Much like the times before, the "trigger" lifted into the air, where it made contact with the "time gate", causing it to open up once more.

f7gu7er.gif

This time, the gate looked a little more unstable than before, with the images of a bright blue sky, with a rather brightly colored city with high skyscrapers intermingling with a darker backdrop, and a sprawling, darker looking city.

Faint sounds of gunfire, explosions, screams... And other, unidentifiable happenings could be heard.

"... The next places is more... Unstable than the ones that you have visited so far... Be carefull..." Yalena said, her voice wavering again.

Then, just like before, the time gate sucked everyone into it, just like before... Minus the woman that is, who gingerly touched a mysterious device on her belt, the same one Blake had acquired from that previous place the timegates had brought them to.

Just before the gate closed behind them, one could swear they saw her eye color change, taking on a brighter, more yellowish hue just before she appeared to... Vanish entirely, right before the timegate closed behind then, and they were thrust through the very fabrics of time and space once more...

...

"We're running out of time..."

"I know... We'll have to hurry."

"Yes. Before it finds us."
...

19tcK2Z.png

Everyone was greeted with a crazy sight; a futuristic city, but one that had clashing scenery... With skies that appeared to be quite inconsitent to asay the least, from a bleak, cloud filled sky, to a bright, nearly cloudless blue sky, to a dark, night sky, speckled with stars. Fortunately, at least for the time being, the lighting and "skybox" remained static, and appeared to be "hovering" over various areas.

Unfortunately, there was little time to take the whole scene in as it quickly became apparent that this timegate had ended up dropping them from rather high up in the air! With the ground far below them, a drop at this height would most definitely kill them... What made matters worse was that their powers appeared to not be functioning at the moment.

However, they were lucky enough that someone had swooped by in a hexagonal looking craft, with some sort of futuristic weapon uptop, which managed to catch most of the group ontop of the craft before they plumetted too far. With the unfortunate exception of Guido, Deadpool, and Wheatley who each respectively fell down to the ground below... The fall instantly killing them, even if it was a bit tough to see for sure at this height.

Whoever was piloting the craft certainly was taking care to keep the rest of the group from dropping down though, and for the most part... The rest of the ride was relatively stable, but by the looks of it, there was some heavy fighting going on in the airspace further on, but nonetheless, the pilot of the strange craft that had caught (most of) the arrivals managed to land it in a more peacefull spot, by what had once been a highway.

It looks like there were quite a few marines and vehicles stationed here already, some that looked a bit more futuristic, while others looked more like members of a more modern looking SWAT team. In either case, this location looked far from permanent, appearing to be a more temporary spot more than anything, far from a safe haven in what appeared to be a time of war.

With a small hiss, the door at the front of the craft that the group had been caught ontop of opened, and the pilot stepped out... Taking off her helmet to reveal the face of a young woman... Though she didn't seem quite as young as Yalena was.

R8RXohh.jpg

She had a familiar looking device on her belt, just like the young woman from the previous world, and a near identical look in her eyes... As Yalena, and "Blake" had, though unlike the others they had met... She actually had a nametag directly ajacent to her combat knife on her breast plate which read "Col. Amelia".

"Welcome to the war, soldiers! Just come on down, and I'll show you what kind of options we've got for ya!" She said.

The top of the ship itself didn't seem too, seeing as there were many handholds, and even a few indentations here and there that might as well act as make-shift ladders, allowing almost anyone to descend with relative ease. All the while, the woman appeared to be waiting for everyone to hop off the ship before she continued, her gaze occasionally wandering into the distance, where various explosions appeared to be blooming, indicating an ongoing battle on the horizon, and a few, large ships looked to be hovering in the sky... Presumably some oversized, and rather futuristic looking spaceships, no less.

When everyone had made their way off the roof of the ship, she cleared her throat as she drew in a breath, making sure everyone around her could hear what she was saying.

"Right! So, as you can see... We're knees deep down shit creek! Before I can help ya, there's a few places for ya to visit." She began, stopping for a moment to turn and gesture towards a spot to the left, where buildings on the darker side of this strange mishmash of a city were...

"To our left, the Covenant's got some armor holed up over their, covering some AA batteries that're giving our air support over there hell on Earth!" She continued, before gesturing over to an area to the right, where there appeared to be taller, and brighter looking buildings.

"Aaand to our right, we've got a different problem. Some sorta Alien terror ship just landed, and the bogeys it dropped off are tearing through our forces like butter! If someone can knock out that ship, our little alien problem should be over..." She added, then... She appeared to point directly behind her, where one could faintly make out a brownish patch, and alot of smoke was billowing from.

"Lastly... Directly in front of ya, some sorta ship crashed not too long ago, bringing with it a ghastly parasite that's been eating away at the city... And whatever sentient life it can latch onta." She said, rubbing her forehead, as if she couldn't even believe what hse herself was saying.

"So. Looks like we've got our work cut out for us, aye? What'll it be, ladies?" She asked, cocking her head to one side.

In their immediate vicinity, there appeared to be three groups of vehicles prepared to take the group to whatever area they chose to go.

To recap, there are three areas that this woman, who her nametag identifies as "Amelia" told them to go to:

1) An area to the right where there appeared to be AA Batteries, and some armor set up by what she called "Covenant" forces, that were making it difficult to bring in any air support over there, a problem that could be taken care of with a little... Percussive maintenance, shall we say.

2) A tightly knit cluster of buildings to the left where Amelia mentions an Alien Terror Ship of some sort had landed, which was giving defending forces over there a considerable amount of trouble. She mentions that it would be optimal to somehow destroy or disable the ship itself in order to make it easier for the forces there to hold their ground.

3) Directly in front of the group, albeit a good distance away, there appears to be a crash site, where some sort of parasite was wreaking havock on the forces there, and potentially the landscape itself, judging from the rather... Off-looking browning color emanating from the spot.

@Crash Site
@Mason Moretti @Jeremi (Howlett) @Atomyk @Kaykay @Verite

Those who chose to head to the crash site were transported there by a sizeable squadron of what looked to be combat capable jeeps, some with turrets on their backs... Others? Instead of a turret, there was just extra room for more troops...
PPVk3va.png

It would seem that the group headed to the crash site was ushered into the backs of these vehicles, which were then surrounded by various other similar vehicles... Toting turrets, rather than a spot for additional passengers on their rear area. While the marines who had accompanied them had little weapons to spare as they made their journey, it was fortunate that they felt their powers begin to return to them, though it was uncertain for how long.

However, Amelia did mention that there were weapons caches laying around the crash site, from previous teams who had attempted to press through the area... Though, despite the impending threat of whatever may be lurking there, they could feel that there was a mysterious force watching over them... Perhaps this was the work of the "Sentinels" among them? It was hard to say.

It seemed though, that their ride abruptly ended when the group of vehicles that had been giving them a lift abruptly stopped at the edge of this fleshy biomass, that resembled some sort of bizarre mishmash of organic tissue. Howlett could catch a whiff of various smells wafting from the actual crash site that reeked of mass decay, the air smelt foul... And the group could even see a thick veil of greenish mist permeating the area, and there were various shrieks, howls, and growls in the distance, accomapnied by weapons fire, and a few explosions here and there.

Whatever was lurking in this crash site, other than perhaps, marines and such, did not sound friendly at all... And soon, through this greenish mist, they could spot a few of these creatures poking out as they roamed.

bk77EWu.jpg

The ones that they could see looked vaguely humanoid... And while some had faces that may have once been human... Others resembled a more foreign species, that perhaps had suffered the same fate as some of the marines here?

What was notable was that each one appeared have their heads drooping limply to one side... And had sprouted various mutations throughout their body, as well as a distrinct set of tendrils from their chest, and there were a good number of these creatures that were armed.

For the time being, it would appear that the group was undetected, and the marines with them had taken up a defensive position, watching for an opening... But... Well, with their powers recovered for now, while they could in theory sneak in and try and take a closer look at the innards of the crash site, and whatever horrors may be lurking within... They could always take advantage of the temporary restoration of their powers in order to bring the fight straight to the creatures, but perhaps it may be a good idea to grab a weapon sooner or later, incase their powers were to fade again...

@Terror Ship
@thatguyinthestore @Minerva @Jeremi (Danielle) @Fallen Hope

The group who decided to head to the Terror Ship was directed towards an airborne vehicle, an armed, troop transport dropship, no less, that looked quite battered by combat, but evidently ready to go on a moment's notice.

VJF3lZ4.png

It took them through to a much brighter cityscape that looked relatively clean, and polished... Save for the shattered glass, and burning buildings, and a massive saucer-like alien ship that appeared to have landed on a building cluster not far off in the distance, evidently the "terror ship" Amelia had mentioned. One could already hear gunfire and explosions emanating from that rough direction, as well as various flashes of light from what one could assume to be some sort of energy or plasma weaponry.

As the dropship's pilot did not intend to fly right into the heat of battle, it instead dropped everyone off ontop of a more peacefull stretch of roof space, where there appeared to be a chain-link fence and a gate with two soldiers in heavy riot armor stationed there. One had an assault rifle in his hands while the other carried a heavy machine gun. They both had a symbol on their armor:

6Xi3Ltq.jpg

They looked at the group as they approached. "Backup or evacuation?" The one with the assault rifle asked.

He rolled his neck to stretch. "Backup would be better because of that Alien Terror Ship, but those ONI guys are running out of hands down at the Evac Center."

While everyone was pondering about that though, there appeared to be a bit of an weapons stockpile laying around nearby, as well as a few weapons on the dropship itself, usefull things for anyone who could be bothered to take them.

It was also noted that they were beginning to feel their powers return to them.
(Note: Tag @Minerva for evac center, and well, me, @york for the assault on the actual terror ship)

@AA Batteries
@Otto

As for Eygon, and any others who may have joined him who had decided to head to the AA Batteries, they would be joined by Amelia herself, who had appeared to have abandoned her saucer-like craft. Instead, she lead them towards a rather heavily armored vehicle, but one that apparently lacked armaments... Perhaps it had been repurposed?

Whatever the case may be, this behemoth was still quite capable of protecting its occupants and cargo, and there were a few tanks and jeeps with turrets escorting them. A high profile convoy, for what would likely be a high profile mission.

As their ride in the vehicle came to a close, having taken them to their destination, the noticed that their powers were returning to them, for the time being anyways.

Inside the actual vehicle, there appeared to be a stockpile of weapons, which Eygon, and whoever may have followed him may find interest in taking, if they so choose.

In the meantime, Amelia appeared to be barking orders to some nearby marines, who were carrying around some powerfull looking explosives, ranging from charges... To missile launchers and the like, and in the distance, one could hear a heavy, mechanical thumping noise... Likely the "armor" Amelia had mentioned the "Covenant" had stationed here... Whoever this "Covenant" was anyways.

The blue haired woman paused, taking a look at the chip for a moment before nodding.

"It will have to do... If there is no space... We'll have to make-... ..." She was cut off abruptly when Dio displayed a rather brutal attempt to kill Noembelu, and perhaps Birdie by extension.

While she had initially prepared to intervene, it was fortunate that Ben chose to do so instead, restraining Dio, who felt his powers suddenly weaken for the moment, not long after the woman closed her eyes, seeming to have concentrated for a moment... Before she let out a huff, looking amongst the newer arrivals, realizing that they were still rather confused about what this place was... Moreso why those who died, did not quite seem so dead here...

"You are... Foreign to the worlds that has been taken by an entity... One that has held all of you, here... In its grasp, as it did with me..." She said, frowning a little.

"In the chaos that very entity has created... Whenever you die... You end up... Here. Just like all the timelines that ceased to be..." She said, gesturing outside, where the remains of what looked to have once been Beacon tower lay outside... Amongst what appeared to be a frozen sea, and various buildings... Not unlike the one they were in.

Further in the distance, roughly where the map that had been displayed indicated, one could even see the crumbling ruins of what looked to be large, towering walls at once point... Circular in shape.

"And it is here... That we will remain, in a place beyond time... But... I know of a way out..." She added, rubbing her chin.

"That map I found will lead us to an... Artifact. One that will grant us the chance to find our way out... Through a 'time-gate', where I hope we will meet up with the... Rest of you, who have yet to end up here..." She finished.

All this fighting, and arguing, and exposition collectively seemed to have left her a bit worn out, but despite this... She seemed determined to press on, in order to grant those that ended up here the way out that she had promised them.

"So, we've got the map in here, we follow its directions to the Artifact, and we get back to the others, then we work everything else out from there," Ben recites. "Sounds like an easy-to-follow plan to me. Anything else we need here? Or are we ready to take a headstart?"

They looked at the group as they approached. "Backup or evacuation?" The one with the assault rifle asked.

He rolled his neck to stretch. "Backup would be better because of that Alien Terror Ship, but those ONI guys are running out of hands down at the Evac Center."

While everyone was pondering about that though, there appeared to be a bit of an weapons stockpile laying around nearby, as well as a few weapons on the dropship itself, usefull things for anyone who could be bothered to take them.

It was also noted that they were beginning to feel their powers return to them.

"YOU'RE USELESS, BIRDIE! DIE!"

Even as Ben restrained DIO, the World continued to try to crush Birdie's head, deliberately taking its time to do so when it could just crush it right there as the vampire's manic laughter continued to ring out. On top of that, this violently ripped his tendrils from Birdie, which probably didn't feel very nice, but wouldn't be too serious. Just when the pressure might begin ti be too great, he felt his powers weaken drastically. The World disappeared, DIO too weak to maintain it. At this point, he wasn't even surprised, so his expression just settled into a displeased sneer.

He did smirk when Noembelu kicked him in the face, though.

Upon being released, he flashed his fangs at Birdie, then kept moving. He couldn't get his revenge now, but DIO was nothing if not patient. One hundred years in a coffin does that to you.

Ghostfreak transformed back into Ben, before looking at the chip.

"So, we've got the map in here, we follow its directions to the Artifact, and we get back to the others, then we work everything else out from there," Ben recites. "Sounds like an easy-to-follow plan to me. Anything else we need here? Or are we ready to take a headstart?"

Birdie let Dio know just how he felt about the vampire via an obscebe hand gesture behind his back. But he let it slide for now, as from what he could gather they all had a chance to get out of here. "I'm ready to go when everyone else is-I'm fixin' to take down whoever dragged me into this whole mess!"

Noembelu, after a moment deliberating the idea, walked over to Blaze. "You were right all along," she said. There was no mocking or malice-it was just a fact. "I suppose that's why the other Harbinger killed you. Sorry about that." She winced, remembering Blaze's lifeless body. "I hope they're found quickly. Unfortunately we know who's joining us next."

"Damn straight we do! Gotta tip my hat-metaphorical wise, ain't never wearin' one. A2 gave us up. One of them Sentinels."

@Crash Site
@Mason Moretti @Jeremi (Howlett) @Atomyk @Kaykay @Verite

Those who chose to head to the crash site were transported there by a sizeable squadron of what looked to be combat capable jeeps, some with turrets on their backs... Others? Instead of a turret, there was just extra room for more troops...

The sight and smell of the mass of flesh covering the ship sent Mipha back into her memories of her time trapped within Vah Ruta. Her Divine Beast had been infected with a similar parasite in the form of Calamity Ganon's Malice. Although they were of different color and produced different smokes, perhaps they acted in similar ways and could be defeated.
Howlett looked over to where the creatures where. "If you need a diversion to sneak inside I could be your man." He responded looking to the group. "I fought my way through hell once. This shouldn't be too bad." He didn't reveal it to the others in the group but as they were heading here he was starting to feel nauseous and a heavy throbbing in his body. He wasn't sure but the loss of his powers might have sparked it. Here's hoping that wasn't a recurring thing.

"If this parasite is anything like what I've experienced back home, then attacking the large creature directly is not a wise plan of action. There should be some hidden weak point to this parasite. Killing the large parasite should be our top priority. As long as it's still active, this infection can spread. We definitely need to sneak inside, but... Are you sure you should stay out here and fight these creatures, Howlett?

"I can feel the strength of my magic returning. I could stay here with Howlett and keep him safe with my magic, or I could go with the rest of the group in case the situation becomes dire.

"Honestly, I believe I should stick with the group because it is important that all of us stay alive. It is possible that we could slip by without a distraction?"
