It is said that brevity is the soul of wit. There is, without a doubt, a time and place for long paragraphs filled with wondrous descriptions. Other times, however, less is more. What can you create from the prompt using only two sentences?

This time, the theme is:

Cavernous
 
She remembered how it used to look to her, a giant area where there was no end and there was no escape to, a cavern. Now, driving through her small town neighborhood, it seemed so small and it felt silly to believe that it was the monster her memory made it to be.

His self-confidence was an ineffective umbrella against the storm of words, echoing in the cavern of his mind. You will never be good enough.
 
"...You dumb shits just run wild with it, don't ya - the sky, stars, the fucking moon - always chin-up, high on those dreams of yours! The one fucking thing you'd just forget over and over again is that you ungrateful brats weren't born in the caves like us - your lives were built all on top of those shit holes in the ground that we used to call home!"
 
The arid sands shifted and writhed as the insectoid evil it had buried long ago began to stir once more within the lightless tunnels it had burrowed into the landscape, thereby desecrating a once hallowed ground. He did not falter as the beast's membranous wings and screeching voice rumbled the sand beneath his feet, and instead smiled, for once more would his goddess bring the heretics to heel.
 
His searing hatred was perhaps the only thing that had kept his sanity during what seemed like an eternity spent wandering about these accursed subterranean depths. Standing at the sun-lit exit of his cavernous prison, he couldn't help but burst into an uncanny, joyless laughter - they had left him here to die, but death would seem like a bliss compared to the vengeance he was about to exact on them!
 
It was a sickening thing, a great scar ripped into the surface of the earth contained within it the blood of fellow adventurers who had wandered foolishly into its depths, evident by the garden of skeletons that laid strewn outside the entrance and once more, the acrid smell of pumice, sulfur and brimstone that was palpable from the cavern caused him to think if perhaps, he was over his depth.​

" Meh, I can handle it."​
 
He saw everything and anything in that cavernous abyss down in Argentina.

It should come as no surprise then Dr. Knoulter's services are permanently suspended from this revered university.

It was a sight to behold, watching little Mickey open a cavernous mouth and take a huge bite of his oversized burger.

A truly disgusting sight, yes, but amazing and awe inspiring in its own way.

His heart was cavernous, a black, empty space where no one could hope to find their way. Somehow, though, she had managed... she had managed to find a light, and make a path and there she remained.

The old church bells rented the darkness, sending a flock of birds into disarray as they repelled violently away from the aged building. Each chime echoed slowly through the cavernous innermost hall, reverberating off ancient stone, bouncing between each pew, and finally laying to rest upon the altar where only one individual stood.

His eyes were simply empty, black and void and never ending. The questions they begged were perhaps more disturbing than gazing into them: had they always been so barren or had something hollowed them out?

She was a monster, a menace, something to be feared, and her stomach was a cavernous hole that would never be filled.

"Marie, time for dinner," the tinkling voice of her mother called, and the girl rose from all fours and scampered to the kitchen- world destruction could wait until after mashed potatoes.

She stood atop the cliff with the rescue squad looking down at the cavernous slice her car had taken out of the hill as it had careened over the edge and down the sheer face below with and awed expression on her blood streaked face. How she survived such a thing and with only these few scrapes and cuts she would never.

And a cavernous hole opened inside of her, as big as an ocean, wider and deeper than the reaches of space, as she looked up at the vet that awaited her decision.

"Put her down," she answered.
